Walker Grant raised a finger to his lips. Noah Grant blinked and remained silent.

Walker Grant walked over and stroked his head. "Does your head still hurt?" he asked softly.

Noah Grant simply shook his head.

Walker Grant lowered his gaze slightly, his almond-shaped eyes dark and profound as he stroked Noah Grant’s head again and again.

He still radiated a biting chill, one that instilled an inexplicable fear.

Noah Grant was terrified right now.

’My uncle is being so fierce and cold today,’ he thought. ’I’m a little scared.’

But he needed to use the bathroom.

He struggled to sit up. Walker Grant glanced up at him. "What is it?"

"Pee-pee."

Noah Grant said in a small voice.

Walker Grant scooped him up and carried him to the bathroom.

He loved being held by his uncle, so he leaned his whole body into the embrace.

Once in the bathroom, the little boy sat on the toilet.

Walker Grant asked in a slow, deliberate voice, "Do you rember what happened tonight?"

Noah Grant nodded. "I rember."

Walker Grant’s tone softened. "Tell your uncle, how did you fall?"

Noah Grant’s eyes glazed over for a mont as if recalling a painful mory, and his little face paled.

His lips trembled. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly heard Sunny Reed’s frantic voice.

"Noah? Noah, where are you?"

"Mama, I’m in here!" Noah Grant imdiately shouted back.

He had shouted with too much force, and his head began to throb. Tears instantly stread down his face.

"Ngh... Uncle, my head hurts," he wailed.

Walker Grant’s handso brows knitted together. He picked the boy up, pulled up his pants, and carried him out.

Sunny Reed was right outside the bathroom door. Her face was pale, her hair was disheveled, and worry was etched across her features.

"Walker, when did you get here?"

"Just now."

Walker Grant said nonchalantly as he set Noah Grant down on the hospital bed. "Don’t cry. It’ll stop hurting in a bit."

Sunny Reed quickly climbed onto the bed and gathered Noah Grant in her arms. "It’s okay, it’s okay. Mama’s here. Don’t cry..."

Walker Grant watched them, a shadow passing through his eyes. He took two steps back and said, "You know Chloe, right?"

Sunny Reed lowered her eyes. After a slight pause, she said, "Walker, there are many things in the past that I can overlook, but not this ti. Noah is my life. Julian is gone, and I must protect his child. I absolutely will not allow anyone to hurt him."

She looked at him with red-rimd eyes. "I’m not the Reed family’s biological daughter, so I’ve been yielding to others my whole life. When I was little, even when she pushed down the stairs, I didn’t dare to say a word. I just said I was clumsy. I thought my patience would make her accept , but I never imagined she would hurt my child. He’s so young..."

She started crying as she spoke. "Walker, you shouldn’t co anymore. I will take good care of Noah. Even if Noah is your older brother’s only child, and even if he has to grow up without a father’s love, just don’t co. I don’t want my child to be hurt again because of all this."

Walker Grant looked at her with a complicated expression, his gaze then falling on Noah Grant’s pale little face. His voice was a bit hoarse as he said, "Noah is indeed innocent."

He reached out to stroke the boy’s little face before turning to leave.

Sunny Reed hugged the child in her arms tightly, tears still in her eyes. After he was gone, she leaned down to Noah Grant’s ear and said, "Noah, you’re going to have a daddy very soon."
