His research into the statue led him to contact so ancient entities from the Lightless Abyss, notably the Deep Divers.
The Elder was truly a genius, mastering the ability to communicate with these Deep Divers.
Under the moonlit night, the Deep Divers erged from the waters, seeking to retrieve the statue, along with an offering during the eclipse, and they were willing to trade with countless treasures.
Coincidentally, the Elder faced financial strain from his excavations and made a trade with the Deep Divers.
Upon forming the contract, the Elder’s "new friends" silently dove into the black seas, all witnessed by the girl tailing the Elder.
From afar, the border firelight trembling with fear betrayed her presence, though the Elder had already noticed her. He left her alone simply because he had devised a sche to fulfill the contract while ridding himself of the girl.
Until the arrival of the full moon night, in the blood-red moonlight, the Elder lured the innocent girl to the dock’s edge.
Before she could savor the mont, the Elder clamped shackles tightly on her, locking her against the statue.
With a gentle push, he sent both offerings into the ocean, completing his contract with the Deep Divers.
By low tide, the most splendid and precious jewels scattered along the coast, one could say the Deep Divers were supportive of the Elder’s actions; without their treasure, the Elder would have struggled.
As for the girl?
She no longer belongs to the world accepted by human rationality. Those water-dwelling Demons have reshaped this poor girl into their likeness.
