"AAH!" A puff of blue smoke rose from the crowd.

Several people in that area were touched by the corrosive Potion. Their clothing and flesh were unable to block it in the slightest. Flesh dissolved to reveal stark white bones, and even those bones beca soft and rotten.

HISS—how terrifying!

Even Big Beard was affected. His thigh was splashed with the acid. Although it wasn’t too severe, it hurt as if burned, pausing his nimble movents.

That pause might as well have been an eternity. Boudica, with her agile figure, killed her way through. The War Halberd swung from low to high like a steel swan lifting its proud head, its blade slicing Big Beard’s head in two upon contact.

"Drop your weapons! Surrender and you will not be killed!"

Lance cleared out the musket-wielding Musketeers. Then, pointing with his Longsword, he shouted three tis. One by one, they all dropped their weapons and raised their hands high to show their intent to surrender.

The reason was simple: those who were slow to surrender were cut down.

Boudica, who had just taken down Big Beard, heard these words and was slightly dissatisfied. However, she had no choice but to put away her War Halberd. She now faced a man who was surrendering with his hands up.

That man should feel fortunate. If he had been any slower, he would be dead. He experienced a sense of escaping death that was more thrilling than winning a million.

So tried to return and leave the ship. However, these Pirates had clung to the cargo ship with all their might. The grappling hooks linking the two ships weren’t going to be disengaged anyti soon—the dense ropes would take half a day to cut through.

Lance directly leapt over. He alone suppressed the few Pirates who had fled to their ship.

It was only after gaining control of the situation that he ordered the Guards to co out, tie up the prisoners, and for the doctor to treat the injured.

Fortunately, there were only three with minor injuries and one seriously injured.

The power of pistols was inherently low, and the Lead Bullets were soft. Furthermore, the debris Lance had arranged to pile up had blocked the attacks of those Musketeers. Even if it hadn’t fully blocked them, their force was greatly diminished.

Not to ntion, he had charged up and finished those n off, giving them no chance for a second round of fire.

The one seriously injured was sowhat unlucky; a bullet had passed through the debris and struck him right in the chest.

"Quick, get him into a room! We need to operate imdiately!"

Lance glanced at the doctor and casually summoned two n to carry the injured man into a room.

He then turned his head to order the captain. "Go inform the ship behind us that the battle is over. Have them co over for support. Also, arrange for people to disengage those grappling hooks, but be cautious of the Pirates on their ship. Don’t go aboard."

After briskly giving these instructions, he also entered the room.

The injured man had lost too much blood, and his lungs were injured. He had already fallen unconscious.

Under normal circumstances, he might have been declared dead and rcifully finished off. However, Lance felt he could still be saved.

"Don’t be afraid," Lance encouraged. "Proceed boldly. Think about the surgical procedures I’ve told you about: extract the bullet and suture the wound to stop the bleeding."

The doctor said no more. Her steady actions demonstrated that she was utterly unfazed. Beside her lay the bloodstained Short Sword she had used for killing.

Lance knew his concern was unnecessary; he just watched her begin.

After a brief fla sterilization, a sharp blade cut into the wound. Blood gushed out, further staining her already bloodied coat.

Facing such a situation, the doctor remained composed, as calm as if she were born for this job...

A mont later, the doctor erged, covered in blood. Her hands, especially, were incredibly filthy. She saw people waiting outside the door, particularly the family of the injured man.

"Doctor, how is my husband?" a woman holding a child, tears in her eyes, anxiously asked.

She who dared to debate with professors in the classroom was now sowhat at a loss for words.

Looking at their hopeful eyes, she couldn’t help but feel an unprecedented emotion.

Though no one could see her expression beneath the mask, her silence made the atmosphere suffocating.

Such an injury was pretty much a death sentence. Even though everyone was prepared for it, the thought of death still inevitably left them heavy-hearted.

This was especially true for the woman. She couldn’t help but let tears fall, causing her bewildered child to ask in a childlike voice, "Mommy, what’s wrong with Daddy?"

"Nothing, child. He’s just sleeping," the woman replied, wiping her tears and forcing a smile.

This made the mood among the surrounding people even heavier. So couldn’t help but comfort her, "Don’t worry, the Lord will take care of you."

Lance, sleeves rolled up, ca out. "What are you all doing gathered here?" he asked. "Don’t disturb the patient’s rest. His family can co and take care of him."

Lance’s words imdiately reversed the grim atmosphere. Everyone understood that the man hadn’t actually died.

Shock, joy... various emotions surfaced in their hearts.

The woman, fearing she had misheard, eagerly asked again, "My lord, did you say my husband is alright?"

"He’s definitely injured, but we brought him back. He’ll need so ti to recover," Lance reassured the injured man’s family. Looking at the doctor, he added, "The doctor saved him."

Even with the Lord’s protection, who would willingly accept the death of a loved one?

Once the woman received confirmation, she finally relaxed and thanked the doctor profusely.

"Thank you, Doctor! Thank you so much!"

Words of gratitude poured out, yet they were still inadequate to convey their overwhelming excitent. The usually unreserved doctor, however, seed unexpectedly flustered in this situation.

She couldn’t help but look to Lance for help.

"Alright, alright. The doctor still needs to treat others. You should all go and take care of the injured man now," Lance said, dispersing the crowd that had gathered. With his words, the news also spread.

Everyone now shared one understanding: the doctor was incredibly skilled!
