Thus, the Elders’ Council comnced under the blessing of the ceremony.
Five Elders appeared within this illusory scene. As the old woman narrated, the other four Elders couldn’t help but display differing attitudes.
"HISS! This young man is indeed terrifying!"
"What an arrogant fellow!"
"Does the Empire have such a person among its Earls?"
"I have never heard of this person."
The old woman knew the other Elders were sowhat hesitant to confront her directly, but now was not the ti for such considerations.
"This incident was due to my rashness. I take full responsibility, and after it is resolved, I shall resign from the Elders’ Council."
Her words were tantamount to shouldering all the bla and offering her resignation.
"We should first address the situations he has raised: the matter of Tamara’s past, the issue with Hamlet and the evil cult, the so-called truth of the world he speaks of, and whether or not to hand the person over to him."
The selection of Elders is a very strict affair. Their existence is dedicated to the survival and future of the Romani; this is their very purpose.
It was for this very reason that the old woman readily assud responsibility. It is their mission, and they would not hesitate even if the price was their own lives.
"I propose we et his demands."
"I disagree. Must we submit to threats? That is rely a struggling small town, a pale shadow of Hamlet’s forr glory."
"Our Necromancy network, capable of channeling the power of multiple Legendary Extraordinaries, was effortlessly destroyed by him. Admit it, he is not simply a Master as the records suggest, but a fellow Legendary, worthy of our respect."
"If what he says is true, there is absolutely no need to offend such a young Legendary powerhouse, making a powerful enemy for the Romani. That would not be a rational choice."
As they spoke, the Elders present couldn’t help but turn their gazes to the final Elder.
Her face was even more wizened, her breathing faint, and her spiritual aura seed quite ordinary, revealing no particular distinction.
Yet, at this mont, the deference shown by the others made it clear that even among Elders, so voices carried more weight.
"Regardless of the truth, he requires our assistance. We can extend an olive branch and seek cooperation, even if it cos at so cost, but we cannot hand over the child, Tamara, to him."
These words largely shifted the focus of the discussion to Tamara.
"Precisely. The fact that he has taken an interest in Tamara demonstrates how truly exceptional her talent is."
"If the situation he described is true, then Tamara’s prophetic abilities will be crucial and must remain under our control."
"Have you all forgotten that Tamara is a fugitive? We have hunted her for so many years, and she has suffered greatly because of us. Even if she returns, can she truly be one of us in heart and mind?"
Indeed, this statent plunged the eting into a brief silence.
Fortunately, the old woman had already grasped the situation and promptly stated her position.
"I believe Tamara is trustworthy."
Her words drew the attention of the other Elders. She then explained the circumstances under which Tamara had issued her warning.
"She warned us in his presence, clearly siding with us. No matter what, she is one of our Romani, not one of those Imperial People. If we treat her well upon her return, she will understand."
"Let’s vote on it."
"I agree to accept Tamara," the old woman was the first to state her position.
"Agreed," the other two quickly followed suit.
The final Elder, who had been consistently opposed, hesitated for a mont but did not give her assent.
"I abstain. However, we must prepare a contingency plan in case she betrays us."
"The resolution is passed. Next item..."
