The mbers of the team showed little negative emotion toward the Pign reinforcents. In such an environnt, rather than remaining tense in the gloom, it was better to set up a battle formation. Perfect timing. I was too lazy to look for you guys anyway.Damn it all!
As soon as Dismas noticed the commotion behind him, he imdiately turned, calmly reloading his pistol. After finishing, he drew his Short Sword. Firing a pistol from the rear wasn’t his intention; he only did so because the passageway was narrow. Now it’s ti for these ugly monsters to taste the blade. Dismas turned to face the battle, seemingly unconcerned about the other direction behind him. Or rather, he trusted his teammates; at least, he trusted the Lord.
Tadiff also focused on the approaching enemies from behind. His axe still bore the blood from the Pigman drumr he had just killed, and he was not shaken by the arrival of reinforcents. The narrow passageway only allowed two abreast, so the warriors at the front generally intercepted the toughest foes. This ant he sotis had to swing his hook out of necessity. But without kills, there’s no bounty, and I didn’t co here for such minor contributions. It didn’t take much effort to kill that Pigman drumr. The warm-up is over; ti to really get moving.
And Boudica, even more so. She was a frenzied warmonger. Fight! Fight! She would never back down from a battle, no matter the enemy!
"I want to slit their throats!"
"The bounty is mine."
"Everyone, charge together!"
Lance also realized sothing. He suddenly found that his worries had been excessive. What kind of team is this? This isn’t a group of losers or novices, but a force of experienced and strong warriors. They’ve already killed countless Pign on their way in, so how could they be afraid now? Lance felt he needed to drop this nanny mindset and truly acknowledge their strength.
"Ha! Let’s see who kills more," Lance relaxed considerably, his lips quirking as he reached for a musket and fired into the darkness ahead. He didn’t get distracted by what was behind him, because he trusted his teammates.
"BANG!"
With a flash of fire, the moving forms of the Pign in the darkness ahead were illuminated for a mont, revealing their frenzied and ferocious pig faces. Pigman Hookhand, Pigman Butcher, Pigman Cripple... All familiar faces. Lance had no reason to fear them. He didn’t wait for those Pign to approach but took the initiative to charge forward with his Shield.
Using the montum of the charge, he delivered a shield bash to a Pigman’s forehead. The collision of tal and flesh decided the outco in an instant; the Pigman’s protruding face was knocked askew. The brutal force poured in unchecked, concussing the Pigman’s brain and causing it to imdiately lose control of its body. Then, the axe landed, chopping directly at the neck and embedding deep into the flesh. A subsequent kick delivered terrifying brute force that even the massive Pigman Butcher couldn’t withstand, especially while stunned. The Pigman fell backward, which also dislodged the axe, causing blood to spray out.
Why didn’t Lance deliver a finishing blow? He had dissected Pign corpses before and roughly understood their vital spots. That one axe blow, even if it didn’t kill imdiately, would lead to death from the ensuing arterial rupture and blood loss. Sotis, a great weapon doesn’t need human operation.
anwhile, more enemies surged forward, and Lance didn’t have ti to dwell on a single kill. A Pigman Hookhand seized the opportunity to approach, swinging its iron hook in an attempt to tear into Lance’s Flesh. But Lance had already spotted it. The axe was not a big threat to a Hook Pig equipped with an Iron Helt and a wooden shield, but Lance was human and knew how to use his brain. A warrior who doesn’t think is a Boudica for life. Why should I bother hacking at your armor?
Lance kicked straight at its shin. Its deford lower limbs were already fragile, and this kick snapped the bone. With a terrible squeal, the Pigman Hookhand lost its balance uncontrollably, and the hook in its hand naturally lost its strength. Lance was about to bring his axe down onto its flank when, unexpectedly, a Pigman Cripple erged, preparing to spew at him. The re thought of that filth touching him made Lance’s spirit tremble. Without hesitation, he used his Shield to push the Pigman Hookhand in front of him.
Sure enough, the next second, the Pigman Cripple spewed its indescribable vomit all over the Pigman Hookhand. Fortunately, the harsh environnt of the Beast Lair had given these Pign strong resistance to disease, and their thick skin managed to withstand the slight corrosion.
"BANG!" Lance paid it no mind, instead raising his pistol and firing a shot into the Pigman Cripple’s face, instantly killing the disgusting creature. It was almost point-blank; Lance was not about to miss. But the enemies didn’t end there. He had to pick up his axe again to continue fighting...
Even Boudica knew that getting too close would hinder the Lord’s performance. She was also aware that the negative effects she had suffered hadn’t worn off yet. Rushing forward now would be tantamount to feeding the enemy a kill. So, she chose to stay back and wait for her condition to recover. anwhile, she kept an eye on both the front and rear, ready to provide support if anyone ran into trouble.
Lance’s side had to deal with disgusting types like that Pigman Cripple. Thankfully, Dismas hadn’t encountered such a monster yet. However, a new problem erged for them—another Pigman drumr.
