A primal struggle began in the wilderness.
A large white wolf, a size bigger than the rest, led several agile grey wolves as they surrounded a large wild boar with piglets.
By now, the pack had encircled the boar and its litter, yet they dared not recklessly approach, for this boar was not to be trifled with.
Weighing two to three hundred pounds, with dark, stout bristles like steel needles, its armor of cracked clay and resin, dried onto its body, was impervious to slashes and burns.
If it were not for its piglets, the boar would likely have charged already. A single blow could easily spell the end for an average wolf.
The wolves harassed it incessantly, forcing the boar to spin around, uttering shrill screams.
The boar was notoriously temperantal, even more so when with its young. Taunted like this, it finally lost patience and charged, striding forth like a small tank straight at the white wolf.
The sow had no tusks, but her sharp teeth could not be endured by flesh and bone. A single bite could break them.
The wolves' hunting was tactical. They would never confront it head-on. The white wolf sidestepped to evade the charge, while the surrounding grey wolves pulled back, forming a fan shape.
The grey wolves trailing behind took their cue and moved in. One leaped forward, claws latching onto the boar's hindquarters, while others attempted to bring it down from the side.
But the boar's size was an issue—their claws hardly penetrated its resin armor, only managing to scrape away dry mud before losing their grip.
The boar charged through the pack, and almost simultaneously, the piglets scattered in panic. Clearly, the mother boar was drawing the wolves' attention to give her young a chance to escape.
Still, many wolves patrolled the outskirts, each targeting a piglet to pursue, and the chaos imdiately escalated.
The piglets were less trouble. Upon catching one, a wolf could knock it down and tear open its throat, or use its claws to grip the flesh and topple it.
As her piglets fell, the mother boar went berserk. She gathered so unknown strength and suddenly increased her speed, catching a grey wolf that failed to evade in ti.
The sheer force astonishingly launched the grey wolf into the air.
As soon as the wolf landed, barely giving it ti to rise, the boar charged with all her might and perford a War Trample. Such weight could crush steel and bone.
All that could be heard was the grey wolf's WHIMPER, a far cry from its cocky deanor monts before.
If the boar had initially reserved so energy to flee, now, with the death of her piglets, she went completely mad!
With nothing to lose, the boar showed a glimpse of her madness. The grey wolves, caught off guard, descended into disarray. They would have had to flee if the boar continued her onslaught.
Finally, the larger white wolf rushed forward, raising its claw to strike from behind.
The incessant harassnt had already stripped a section of mud armor from her back. The white wolf's sharp claws reached out, piercing the protective layer of resin and hair and hooking into the tough skin.
Other wolves joined the attack, clawing and biting. But these strikes were rely surface wounds to the boar, barely drawing much blood. Her armor was simply too thick.
The frenzied boar, however, disregarded these attacks. She turned instantly, clamping her jaws around one wolf. Due to the pack's proximity, even if the others reacted, there was no room to dodge. The unlucky wolf's flesh and hide were ripped open, leaving a gaping wound on its body. It could only WHIMPER and flee, tail tucked.
This attack scattered the encircling wolves.
The boar stood panting heavily, her breaths so thick they emitted an audible HUFFING sound, clearly burdened by her earlier outburst.
Her tiny red eyes fixated on the white wolf as she chewed the flesh recently bitten off, streams of blood trickling from the corners of her mouth.
The surrounding grey wolves began to recoil, but the white wolf stood its ground, seemingly unfazed.
This was a hunt that belonged solely to it; only such mighty prey could stir its excitent.
At this mont, the white wolf's eyes took on a serious gleam. As its gaze locked with the boar's, it began to circle her, a stance that undoubtedly pressured the sow to keep turning.
This maneuver had already caused the boar to fall into the wolf's rhythm, completely unaware that with each circle, the distance between them shrank.
Suddenly, the white wolf struck without warning. Startled, the boar instinctively bolted, her short yet powerful limbs propelling her massive body swiftly forward.
But the white wolf gave her no chance to accelerate. Rearing back, it slamd its front paws forward just as the boar began to move, throwing her off balance and causing her to topple.
The white wolf then viciously bit into her exposed neck. Wolf Fang tore through skin and flesh, severing the trachea in a frenzied rip.
Blood surging into its nostrils made the white wolf seem even wilder.
The boar struggled fiercely, her legs flailing so furiously they were nearly blurs. Yet, she remained pinned under the white wolf's grip, blood gushing from the neck wound. Even with her vigorous Life Force, she could not overco the limits of her body.
Unless, of course, one considered bleeding profusely an advantage.
Soon, the boar lost the ability to resist, lying there, gasping for air. The white wolf, finally satisfied, released its bite. Its snowy fur, stained crimson with blood, was a ghastly sight.
