In the evening, Simon Forrester made so fish soup and cooked a few small dishes. As soon as Sienna Thornton ca ho, there was a hot al waiting for her.
While eating, she suddenly rembered a post she saw on Zhihu during lunch: "What’s it like to be the spouse of an architect?"
Since Simon Forrester was also an architect, she clicked in and took a look.
There were dozens of replies under the post, mostly complaints from the spouses of architects, saying their partners were basically working all year round without a break, working overti every day. It’s like 997 (working hours from 9 AM to 9 PM, seven days a week, hence 997).

Sienna was curious and asked, "Hey, why don’t you work overti now? Coming ho every day at five to cook?"
"SY is about to close down, haven’t had any work recently." He said it with a straight face.
Sienna rolled her eyes and continued eating.
After a while, Simon Forrester suddenly chuckled, "I handed regular projects over to the design departnt, I’m only handling projects in the Northeast now, sotis it’s busy, sotis it’s not."
Sienna nodded, picked a piece of fish into his bowl and asked, "When are you going to the Northeast next?"
"End of this month."
"Take care of yourself."
Sienna didn’t say directly, but these words contained multiple anings.
Simon Forrester rembered the ti he was kicked out of the house, standing outside all night, cold and stiff, reflecting deeply, and rembered the twenty-minute plank exercise the following night, making his abdominal muscles twitch again.
Feeling that grievance was coming back, he protested, "You’re too cruel, I’ve never seen anyone like you."
"So what kind do you usually see?" Sienna asked lightly.
"Girls, when they suspect their partner is cheating, usually feel sorrowful silently, pick flower petals asking, ’Does he love , does he not love ,’ then cry, fuss, talk about breaking up. Eventually, the guy consoles, assures, and they make up."
Sienna rolled her eyes, "You’ve dated soone like that before?"
Simon Forrester was stunned, "...I’ve only heard about it."
"I can be even harsher, if you want to try, go kiss soone else again," she said, glancing at Simon Forrester, a cold light in her eyes.
Simon Forrester shivered, instantly regretting bringing up this topic.
"I’m done eating, going to take a shower first." Sienna put down her chopsticks, flashed a sweet smile, "Take your ti eating, I’ll wash the dishes after my shower."
Simon Forrester was a bit dazed, as if that fierce look from her earlier was sothing he imagined.

After showering, Sienna ca out, went to the dining room to check, Simon Forrester had already cleaned everything up.
The laundry room light was on, she went in drying her hair, Simon Forrester was taking down last night’s laundry. Upon turning and seeing her wet hair, he quickly pulled her inside, "The wind’s strong, you just washed your hair, your pores are open, might get a headache if blown by the wind. Go sit on the sofa for a bit, I’ll bring these clothes in and help you dry your hair."
"Okay."
Sienna sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, and selected that legal entertainnt show to watch.
She heard from Maeve earlier that she knew the production team for this show, so Sienna thought maybe she could participate in a few episodes, gain so fa, and see if she could find her biological father.
Hence, she now watches this show whenever she has ti, getting familiar with the rules for future appearances.
"You really enjoy this show?" Simon Forrester ca with a hairdryer at so point.
Sienna moved her wrapped hair over her shoulder, adjusting her sitting position.
Simon Forrester sat behind her, began drying her hair, also watching the legal show.
The man’s hand was dry, his movents gentle, one hand gently holding her hair, the other changing angles to blow her hair.
Sienna recalled eting Director-General Linton of the Treaty and Law Departnt in the afternoon, she ntioned it to Simon Forrester, "Whose idea was it to pay the tax bonus over twenty-four installnts, was it your aunt or your grandfather?"
"I’m not sure, why do you ask?"
"I guess it’s your grandfather’s idea, seems like a way to tie to The Forresters for two years. The Treaty and Law Departnt wants now, but I dare not go. If I go, all this money would be gone, right? I’m planning on using this money to pay off the millions owed to the bank for the guesthouse, buy a house, then hire a few people to maintain the guesthouse. Maybe in a few years, when people forget about that incident, the guesthouse can reopen."
They didn’t really talk about this last night when they got ho, with Sienna busy giving him gifts and him busy unpacking and eating gifts.
He thought Sienna had no objections, but now hearing her, she had quite a few opinions.
Simon Forrester pondered for a mont, said, "How about I threaten my grandfather to retract that decision, pay you the bonus all at once?"
Sienna waved her hand, sighed, "No need, it’s not good for the senior managent to go back on their word. Let it be. In the future, with any reward system like this, best to draft an agreent first to avoid awkward situations. It’s not really a big deal, it’s just discouraging and makes one feel petty."
Simon Forrester shared her indignation, "Those old guys are just like that, always going back on their word, saying whatever when they need you to do sothing, you’re the boss. Once the work is done, to them, they’re the boss. No way, I’m going to The Forresters tomorrow to reason with them, this bullying is too much!"
Sienna initially felt a bit down, but hearing Simon Forrester’s words, she felt much better, no longer dwelling on it, she turned to hold his neck, softy said, "Thank you for understanding. But don’t bring this up at The Forresters again, since they have already gone back on their word, we shouldn’t too, it’ll look petty."
"But they’re withholding your money, makes angry!"
Sienna laughed heartily, "It’s okay, I’m not relying on this money to eat, it’s fine. I can’t go to the Treaty and Law Departnt, so be it, there’ll be opportunities in the future."
Seeing her so generous and straightforward, Simon Forrester’s heart softened imdiately, leaning his forehead against hers, "What I love most is your maturity."
"I thought the thing you loved most was my face, and..."
Simon Forrester pretended, "Not as shallow as you."
Sienna quickly slipped from his arms, laughing as she ran, "Since I’m so shallow and you’re so refined, I’m not good enough for you... haha..."
She ran a few steps out of the living room, Simon Forrester chased after her, just about to catch her when suddenly a rush of doorbell rang broke the mont.
Sienna dodged Simon Forrester’s arms, ran to the peephole to take a look—
"Oh my gosh, your mom is here!"
