Simon Forrester cald down in the study before going out to see Sylvia Langley, planning to have a good talk with her, but upon arrival, he found Sienna Thornton freshly showered, sitting in the living room and chatting with Sylvia Langley.
Sylvia Langley was crying profusely and harshly asked, "If I divorce him, can I get half of that vile man’s estate?"
Sienna Thornton nodded, looking helpless, "I’m not clear on your prenuptial agreent. But post-marital assets, according to the latest marriage law, you would be entitled to half. However, there is a situation where if Mr. Forrester proves that any property he bought or his investnt capital is unrelated to you or to marital assets, then you would only get half of his personal earnings, not half of the investnt amount or capital earnings..."
She had tried to explain it simply, but Sylvia Langley still seed to misunderstand, fixating on whether she could get half of Zane Forrester’s fortune, even asking Sienna Thornton to pull off so shady dealings to protect her assets and then go after Zane Forrester’s wealth.
Sienna Thornton was having a headache, wondering how to nicely refuse her, when she noticed Simon Forrester had seated himself at the dining room, listening with a dark expression.
Her heart skipped a beat, wondering if Simon Forrester was angry. She considered using the opportunity to excuse herself, but Sylvia Langley was still persistently asking how to get half of Zane Forrester’s wealth.
Sienna Thornton was quite annoyed, yet remained polite, "As you ntioned, Mr. Forrester’s properties are mainly in the overseas Forrester Family, and these involve clauses in United States corporate law, of which I’m not familiar, nor the organizational structure of the overseas Forrester Family, so..."
She really didn’t want to continue answering Sylvia Langley’s endless questions. It wasn’t that she couldn’t handle them, but more about not wanting to beco Sylvia Langley’s divorce lawyer—what kind of a situation would that be? How could she face The Forrester Family in the future?
Seeing there was no clear answer regarding the assets, Sylvia Langley then asked, "What about custody? If I divorce that vile man, will the custody of Jules belong to ?"
Sienna Thornton rubbed her forehead, "...Your son is already an adult, so there isn’t a matter of custody anymore."
Simon Forrester couldn’t listen anymore, he got up from his seat, approached Sylvia Langley, and asked coldly, "What are your plans for tonight?"
Sylvia Langley hesitated before speaking, then stood up and said, "Let think about it. I’ll first go to the bathroom."
Sylvia Langley’s family was from The South. In Brimfield, besides her son, she didn’t have any relatives.
Simon Forrester knew she wanted to live here; after she left, he asked the expressionless Sienna Thornton sitting beside him, "She fought with Grandpa and my dad, can’t return to the old house for a few days. If I let her live here, are you willing? If not, I’ll have her stay at the hotel downstairs."
Sienna Thornton was certainly unwilling.
But knowing it was Simon Forrester’s mom, and seeing how he asked, it was clear he wanted his mom to stay here. If he was unwilling, he could just send her away, why bother asking her?
She didn’t want to put Simon Forrester in a difficult position, so gracefully said, "Let her stay here. She’s really emotional right now, leaving her to stay alone in a hotel isn’t good either."
Simon Forrester was grateful, gave her a hug, and kissed her forehead, "Thanks for putting up with this the past few days. I’ll head back to the old house tomorrow to see how things are, and get her out soon."
"Okay." Sienna Thornton touched his cheek, smiling sweetly, "I’ll find a clean set of pajamas and towels for Aunt."

While Sylvia Langley showered in the guest bathroom, Sienna Thornton thoughtfully moved her makeup remover, facial cleanser, body wash, shampoo, and wireless hair dryer into the guest bathroom for her use.
After taking a shower, wearing Sienna Thornton’s clean new pajamas, lying on the soft bed in the guest room, wearing a facial mask from Sienna Thornton’s ex-boyfriend, comfortably under the air conditioning, she sighed, "Still, a son is the best! A husband isn’t worth a damn!"
Simon Forrester sat on a nearby chair, rolled his eyes at her, and reprimanded, "You’ve really gone too far this ti. I’m your son, so no matter how excessive you get, at most, I’ll yell at you. But is my dad the sa? My dad’s got no blood ties with you, you insult his blood-related dad, is he supposed to let it slide?"
Sylvia Langley snorted, "Your dad always criticizes your grandpa in my presence, okay? How was I supposed to know he’s two-faced?"
Simon Forrester’s emotions were quite mixed, if Sylvia Langley hadn’t been slapped tonight, he would have flipped out at her for the nonsensical engagent party.
But because she was hit, he was entirely focused on the violence against his mom; plus, with Sienna Thornton ho, he didn’t want to get into a dispute with Sylvia Langley over the engagent, fearing she’d impulsively reveal the engagent to Sienna Thornton, hence Simon Forrester temporarily kept quiet on this matter.
However, not speaking didn’t an he was condoning Sylvia Langley, he was simply being patient, even if it ant reckoning later when Sienna Thornton wasn’t around.
Simon Forrester, still angry, showed Sylvia Langley an unfriendly face, got up to leave, and before leaving, gritted his teeth, warning her: "My marriage is not for you to decide, stop setting up with The Sinclair Family! Also, stop disrespecting Grandpa! Otherwise, I won’t hesitate to sever our mother-son relationship!"
When she heard he wanted to sever the mother-son relationship, Sylvia Langley, unable to return to the old house after being hit by Zane Forrester, felt panic set in, hurriedly removed her mask, and compromised, "Fine, fine, I won’t push you with Nina anymore, don’t sever ties with your mom, mom only has you now..."
Before she finished speaking, Simon Forrester had already closed the door and left.
He returned to the main bedroom, Sienna Thornton leaned against the bed, reading on her Kindle, seeing him co in, she promptly set it down, asking, "Do Aunt’s pajamas fit well?"
"Seems like they fit, she’s about your height." Simon Forrester said, going into the bathroom to relieve himself, keeping the door ajar, the sound of running water echoing.
Sienna Thornton got off the bed, followed him, leaning against the door fra, watching him, "Has she fallen asleep?"
"She’s doing a face mask now, don’t know when she’ll sleep, why bother worrying?" Simon Forrester flushed the toilet, stood at the sink washing his hands and face, splashed water and lotion on his face, then left the bathroom.
He cuddled Sienna Thornton on the bed, silently holding her.
Sienna Thornton knew Sylvia Langley and Zane Forrester had a fight, but didn’t know the specifics, curious for a while, finally with Simon Forrester in bed, she was determined to get to the bottom of it.
She shifted, turned to face him, cradled his face, asking, "Did your parents fight? What was it about?"
Simon Forrester truly didn’t know where to begin, he couldn’t possibly say Sylvia Langley used the excuse of organizing a discharge-and-blessing event for the elders to invite The Sinclair Family, conveniently setting up a marriage engagent?
If Sienna Thornton knew about this, it’d be disastrous.
Hence Simon Forrester claid he wasn’t sure, it happened after he left. However, about Zane Forrester hitting Sylvia Langley, he didn’t conceal it.
As soon as Sienna Thornton heard about Zane Forrester physically assaulting Sylvia Langley, she sat up straight in bed, initially wanting to call it "dostic violence," but seeing Simon Forrester’s bittersweet gaze, hesitated, and ultimately didn’t say it aloud.
