Simon Forrester wore a loose black trench coat, black athletic pants, and white Nike AF shoes; Sienna Thornton also wore an all-black Nike sports outfit, with won’s AF shoes.
The two wearing matching sports outfits didn’t seem like they ca to the old house on purpose; it looked more like they stopped by after exercising sowhere following dinner.
Sienna Thornton entered the inner courtyard holding Simon Forrester’s arm, his hand casually tucked into his trouser pocket while the other hung naturally at his side. The golden bands on their ring fingers glead brightly against their black attire.
Simon Forrester’s face was expressionless. He naturally had a stern look, and now, dressed entirely in black and not cracking even a smile, he seed unapproachable; his face practically said, "I’m in a bad mood, don’t ss with ."
Holding his arm, Sienna Thornton also wore a cold expression, her chin slightly raised, looking elegant and noble.
As the two walked into the inner courtyard, they saw from afar that the living room was empty. Simon Forrester said, "They should be in the dining room." With that, he led Sienna Thornton towards the other side.
They climbed the steps and were still outside the corridor when they indeed saw the lights on in the dining room not far away. Sienna Thornton jokingly said, "Did Grandpa invite Jane Jefferson to dinner?"
Simon Forrester scoffed sarcastically, "He didn’t invite her for dinner; he couldn’t even bother to make her tea, so he’s just sitting in the dining room waiting."
Sienna Thornton nodded knowingly.
The two of them walked a few more steps, turned a corner, and entered the dining room.
Old Master Forrester was seated at the head, with Grandma Forrester, Bianca Fordham, and Jane Jefferson seated to his left; Sylvia Langley sat alone on the right side, with the seat beside her empty.
At that mont, Sylvia Langley sat upright, her figure looking graceful from behind, sternly saying sothing to Old Master Forrester. Bianca Fordham looked indifferent, Jane Jefferson’s face was troubled, while Grandma Forrester frowned, apparently overwheld.
It seed Sylvia Langley had already heated up the battlefield.
Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton both knew how strong Sylvia Langley’s fighting strength was, which was why they deliberately arrived more than half an hour late tonight, to let Sylvia Langley start the war first. Once Bianca Fordham and Jane Jefferson’s defenses lowered by halfway, Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton could then enter, focus their attack, and take down those two.
Sylvia Langley, with her back to the door, didn’t know Simon Forrester and Sienna Thornton had arrived and continued to protest loudly at the people opposite her, until Grandma Forrester saw her grandchildren arrive and smiled, saying "Jules is here," which prompted Sylvia Langley to turn around.
Seeing her backup had arrived, Sylvia Langley smiled triumphantly, stood up, and warmly brought Sienna Thornton to the seat beside her.
After sitting down, Sienna Thornton greeted the elders present, but didn’t even glance at Jane Jefferson.
anwhile, the stern-faced Simon Forrester sat down, directly facing Jane Jefferson, but didn’t look at her squarely, his eyes moving among the three opposite people, coldly asking, "Why didn’t Thomas Reed co?"
Bianca Fordham replied, "Leo is in Britione. This matter has nothing to do with him, why should he co?"
Hearing this, Simon Forrester let out a cold laugh, "Whether it concerns him or not, you’ll know once he arrives."
At the sudden ntion that Thomas Reed would co, Bianca Fordham and Jane Jefferson’s faces turned pale.
Sienna Thornton observed this, and under the table, scratched Simon Forrester’s palm.
Understanding her signal, Simon Forrester adjusted his trench coat sleeve, cleared his throat, and looked at Bianca Fordham, "I don’t know, Aunt, why you would get involved in this matter. This question, after I refute Miss Jefferson’s charges, we’ll discuss behind closed doors."
Those words "behind closed doors" made Bianca Fordham’s face look quite unpleasant.
Simon Forrester saw this but remained expressionless, shifting his gaze to Jane Jefferson, coldly questioning, "Miss Jefferson, you claim the child in your belly is mine, can I ask how you intend to prove that?"
Jane Jefferson boldly t his gaze and replied calmly, "I can’t prove it now. But whether the child is yours, you know in your heart."
Simon Forrester was speechless, then let out a mocking laugh, "Can’t prove it? Then on what basis are you making this charge? Based on your personal assumption? Or on the last ti, when you claid Thomas Reed was comatose from drug use, and I kindly went over to help, and you obtained the surveillance video of us leaving the hotel room together, so you are convinced I did sothing in that room with you?"
Upon hearing about Thomas Reed’s supposed drug use and coma, Bianca Fordham, already with a troubleso face, turned completely colorless, and Grandma Forrester appeared shocked, grabbing Simon Forrester and asking, "What? Jules, you say Leo used drugs?"
Simon Forrester nodded towards Jane Jefferson, "That’s what she said. What exactly happened, you’d better ask her!"
The ever-silent Old Master Forrester now also looked at Jane Jefferson, sternly questioning, "Lawyer Jefferson, what exactly is going on? How could Leo possibly use drugs?"
Jane Jefferson, with her head lowered, said, "Thomas Reed did not use drugs, it was a misunderstanding."
Only then did everyone breathe a sigh of relief.
Simon Forrester chuckled softly, pulling out a stack of photos from his trench coat pocket and tossing them out, explaining to everyone how these photos ca to be. Naturally, he particularly emphasized how Jane Jefferson lied, claiming that Thomas Reed overdosed on drugs and beca comatose.
The crowd was aghast, especially the two elders and Bianca Fordham, whose faces changed with anger.
"Miss Jefferson used these photos to prove I spent nearly an hour in the hotel room with her."
Simon Forrester then questioned Jane Jefferson, "I admit I did spend so ti at the hotel with you that day, but these photos only prove I t you in that room. You have no evidence proving I had any relations with you! Let alone that the child in your belly is mine!"
At the last two sentences, Simon Forrester practically had to suppress a wave of nausea to finish.
Sienna Thornton held his hand tightly beneath the table, and he turned to look at her, their eyes eting, feeling her support.
This scene pierced Jane Jefferson.
Jane Jefferson managed a pale smile and said, "You have no evidence proving we didn’t have relations."
Sienna Thornton had been waiting for this line.
She shifted her gaze to Jane Jefferson, smiling, "Lawyer Jefferson, you’ve been a lawyer for so many years, do you not know that Simon has no obligation to ’prove his innocence’? Since you want to be the accuser, the claimant, please present direct and strong evidence, okay? Stop pestering us with these childish tricks!"
Jane Jefferson glared at her hatefully, the two staring each other down, the atmosphere like a battlefield without smoke.
Sylvia Langley, who hadn’t spoken since earlier, tily asked, "What is ’prove innocence’?"
Sienna Thornton maintained a cold gaze as she answered Jane Jefferson emphatically, "A suspect has no obligation to prove they didn’t commit a cri, much less prove they did! If you ask , Lawyer Jefferson’s accusations against Simon aren’t even enough to et the requirent for prosecution! We have no need to waste words with her here!"
She was utterly vexed and filled with frustration over this matter, and since everyone was present tonight, naturally she had to righteously sha Jane Jefferson a bit.
