After dinner, Tobias Blackwood needed to return ho to coax his daughter to sleep, so the four of them dispersed on the spot.

Jack Hawthorne’s wife, Mavis Thornton, who is a pilot, would arrive in Brimfield late at night, so Jack had to pick her up and would stay at the airport apartnt overnight. Since it wasn’t convenient for Gage Grant to take the sa route, he went back to the city with Simon Forrester.

In the car, Simon Forrester thought about Quentin Thorne and his wife’s situation, and tried to casually gather so information from Gage Grant.

Gage said that Ian Grant had offended so people before, but they didn’t pursue it because of Quentin Thorne. So, Ian is very afraid now that Quentin might divorce her, because once they’re divorced, those people she offended would definitely not let her go. Moreover, she has offended so many people that even the most influential person in the Grant Family, Zachary Grant—who is Gage’s father and Ian’s brother—cannot easily handle this matter for her.

"But my aunt is mainly afraid of divorce because of her only daughter. My cousin still hasn’t found a husband, and if she ends up in a single-parent family, it would definitely be unfavorable for her in the future to find in-laws. And at this age, getting divorced is so disgraceful, my grandfather wouldn’t agree to it first." Gage said.

Simon Forrester thought, Quentin Thorne would likely use the divorce threat to force Ian Grant to accept Sienna Thornton. Weighing the pros and cons, Ian should also accept. As for how to acknowledge Sienna Thornton in the future, that’s hard to say.

.

Simon Forrester returned ho, and Sienna Thornton hadn’t returned yet. He called her, and she said she’d just left the law firm. He went to take a shower, and when he ca out, Sienna had co back.

Once back, she hugged him and apologized, "I’m sorry, baby. Sothing urgent ca up this afternoon, and I had to work overti. I didn’t cook for you or take you for a walk."

Simon laughed and hugged her, "It’s okay, it’s okay. I had dinner at a friend’s place. His estate is huge, so I got plenty of exercise today."

"Really?" Sienna felt less guilty knowing he had plans too, and smiled as she let him go, "Then I’ll go shower first!"

"Go on."

Simon lay down on the bed, finally feeling so relief from the backache.

Sienna didn’t wash her hair, so after showering, she wore a bunny-ear headband, carried a laundry basket to the laundry room, and was busy there for a while before returning to bed and laying beside Simon.

"Where did you have dinner tonight?"

Simon was already thinking of discussing the inn case with her and ntioned the visit to Tobias Blackwood’s winery. He didn’t ntion that the witness for the inn case was found by Quentin Thorne, acting as if he’d sent soone beforehand to find out the information himself.

After hearing it, Sienna was silent for a mont and said, "As long as we know who was behind it, let it go. There’s no need to pursue it further."

"Okay." Simon also believed in minimizing troubles. Plus, the legal association had withdrawn the lawsuit against Sienna, which was enough. Pursuing this matter further might stir up other issues.

"Have soone record her statent and send the recording to . I’ll prepare an explanation for her to sign, and I’ll keep it on file in case this issue resurfaces," Sienna said.

"Alright."

.

Three days later, Tobias Blackwood sent the recording over.

Simon was dealing with work in the study when he received the recording and imdiately played it.

The voice belonged to a young girl, likely nervous or scared, and spoke intermittently. But he recognized the voice as one of the witnesses from last year’s inn case—the receptionist, Paige Pemberton back then.

In the recording, Paige confird that her first statent to the police was true. She initially called Sienna Thornton, but the call was not about asking if a minor could check-in, but to inform Sienna that they had run out of breakfast coupons and needed the ad company to print more.

There seed to be a lawyer questioning Paige, and thus, Simon also heard a man’s voice in the recording using quite a lot of legal jargon questioning Paige.

Paige said that after the inn case, a woman in her twenties approached her, offering 500,000 in cash to retract her statent. Because she owed hundreds of thousands in online loans, she couldn’t resist the temptation and agreed.

Upon hearing this, Simon imdiately sent photos of Nina Sinclair and Jane Jefferson over. The response ca quickly, with Paige stating she didn’t recognize either, and they also sent over a sketch based on Paige’s description.

Simon hurriedly sent both the recording and sketch to Sienna, who was working at the law firm. Sienna said she didn’t recognize the person in the sketch.

A few days later, Simon received the case statent signed by Paige, as well as information on the woman who had tempted Paige to retract with cash.

In the dimly lit study, Sienna curled on the sofa, holding the information Simon received today, silent, frowning. After a long while, she shook her head, "I don’t know this person."

"This woman lives opposite the Jefferson Family and can be said to have grown up with Jane Jefferson," Simon said through gritted teeth. "I called Thomas Reed today, and he admitted that the false accusation by the legal association against you instigating false testimony was orchestrated by Jane."

Sienna was shocked, unable to think why Jane would do such things: "What does she an by this? Did she have a thing for you during last year’s inn case? But she didn’t even know you back then!"

Simon recalled overhearing Jane gossiping about Sienna with other lawyers in Vantage’s reception room last year: "I’ve t Jane a few tis when I visited Vantage, but she didn’t show any particular interest in at the ti. She was probably deeply involved with Thomas Reed back then. But..."

"But what?"

"When you went to Vantage on your last day to hand over the work, Jane and another lawyer were present, and during the New Year at the old house, when she appeared as Thomas Reed’s girlfriend, both tis I noticed she looked at strangely."

Sienna didn’t see the connection: "What do you an?"

Simon sighed, walked over to the sofa, and sat next to her: "I talked with Thomas Reed today. We both believe she’s proving she’s better than you by trampling you, taking your things, and watching you fail."

Sienna was speechless, and after a long pause, she exclaid, "Is she crazy?!"

"Probably."

Sienna was in great shock, and after a while, cald down, waving the docunts in her hand and asked, "Is this person willing to testify in court? We have to sue Jane! We can’t let her continue like this!"

"Thomas Reed took her to Britione. Her pregnancy has been dealt with, and she probably won’t return to the country."

Sienna was agitated: "No way! I want to sue her! She did what she did to and the inn! Why should she get away with it?!"

With that, she jumped off the sofa: "I need to discuss this with Rhonda and Aurora; if we can send her to jail! I definitely want to sue her!"
