At night in her office, he was already quite eager, but when they got ho and were all set, she had to work again. He couldn’t just ask her to stop working and spend ti with him, could he?

If only he’d made a move in the dressing room earlier.

He was toweling his hair dry, his mind wandering, occasionally keeping an eye on her.

The room was warm with the heater on. She wore a pink and goose-yellow striped V-neck nightgown. Her legs were tucked under her, empty space beneath the skirt, with papers resting on her lap.

He started to feel restless, casually throwing the towel over his shoulder and leaning in to look at her docunts. "Is there anything you need my help with?"

"Hm?" Sienna Thornton was making notes on the docunts, her slender fingers skimming over the paper with a blue pen, writing elegant English words. "Not really."

"My English is pretty good."

Sienna continued annotating, shook her head and smiled. "It’s not about how good your English is. There are many technical terms. It’s like if you asked to review your overseas client’s proposals, I wouldn’t be able to do it."

"Alright then. Just keep company."

He returned to the bathroom with the towel, and after a while, ca back with his laptop, sitting next to Sienna.

He was focused on the various reports on his computer, his right hand sliding up and down on the trackpad, his left hand against his lips, serious and engrossed.

She reviewed a few more pages of reports, and in the couple of minutes when her brain slightly relaxed, she suddenly recalled his earlier hints. She took a look at the ti on her phone placed by her leg, checked her work schedule for the next day, and after so thought, put her papers away.

However, he was so absorbed he didn’t notice her actions. By the ti she had gone to the bathroom to wash her hands and returned, he was still intently staring at the computer screen.

She sat at the end of the bed, her foot nudging his foot, her toe scratching his sole twice.

He snapped out of it, his eyes moving from the screen to her, seeing the mischievous glint in her eyes. He closed his laptop and lunged forward...

Sienna Thornton had been working overti almost every day for a month, with no breaks, not even on weekends.

Every day she had to co up with various plans for her cases and review a large amount of reports and materials. It’s easy to imagine how massive the workload and pressure was. So every evening after work, walking back ho with Simon Forrester, chatting and laughing along the way, this feeling of ease relieved a lot of work stress.

After about half a month of this, in late October, the night temperatures in Brimfield dropped to below ten degrees, and it was too cold. Simon Forrester worried that Sienna Thornton might catch a cold. He suggested driving her, but Sienna refused, so he simply started bringing a bag with him every evening to pick her up, containing a hat, gloves, and a scarf. As soon as she ca downstairs, he’d wrap her in the scarf first.

When seen by Sienna Thornton’s subordinates, they envied her for having such a tall, handso, gentle, and considerate boyfriend.

Sienna Thornton, although accustod to Simon Forrester’s care, still felt incredibly ward, and said that this year, despite being tough, was her happiest.

On November sixth, just two days before Sienna Thornton’s departure to Valois. That day, a cold wave hit, making it colder than usual. Sienna Thornton returned to her dormitory, started sneezing continuously, her nose running, and by midnight, she was chilled to the bone.

She was completely unaware, but Simon Forrester, who was holding her, noticed. Pressing his palm to her forehead, it was so hot it felt like it could burn him.

He quickly got out of bed to rummage through the dicine box, only to find there was no thermoter, and the fever patches and antipyretic were all used up.

He quickly soaked a towel in ice, rapidly changed into outside clothes, poured so warm water, helped Sienna Thornton drink it, and then placed the cold towel on her forehead before rushing downstairs, speeding off to the nearest 24-hour pharmacy to buy dicine.

Returning with the dicine, he didn’t even have ti to take off his coat, placing his hand on her forehead, testing the temperature with the back of his hand for a few seconds, softly speaking, "It’s even hotter than before."

He took out a forehead thermoter, checked her forehead, frowned at the reading, "Thirty-nine point nine degrees."

He took the slightly chilled towel to wipe her face, constantly caressing her burning cheeks, wondering whether to give her dicine first or take her directly to the hospital.

"Shall we go to the hospital?" he asked softly.

She, still feverish and muddled, whimpered a bit, offering no response.

Seeing her so, his heart ached, filled with worry and pain. After deliberating for a mont, he got up to the dressing room, fetching the thickest down jacket from Sienna Thornton’s wardrobe.

Just as he was about to lift her up, he heard her feebly say, "No hospital... dicine is fine."

"Be good." Even though he was anxious, his voice remained gentle, his movents light, helping Sienna Thornton into the coat.

Sienna Thornton, however, was stubborn, huddling back into the quilt, her limbs withdrawing. Her brows furrowed, eyes barely opening, murmuring, "Take the dicine first... If not, then go to the hospital..."

With no other options, he quickly opened the bag, took out the antipyretic, and fed it to her with so warm water.

He sat beside the bed accompanying her for a while, frequently checking her temperature with the forehead thermoter, repeatedly going to the bathroom to fetch a warm towel for physical cooling.

It wasn’t until after a while did he realize he hadn’t even taken off his coat, and with the heater warming the bedroom, he was already drenched in sweat.

Worried that he might also fall ill with no one to care for Sienna Thornton, he took a quick hot shower, changed into clean sleepwear, and when he ca out, there was Sienna Thornton hunched over the bed, violently throwing up, ejecting a pale yellow liquid.

His heart jolted painfully, rushing over to pat her back, helping her to vomit more thoroughly.

Every retch she made, his heart twisted, almost bringing tears to his eyes.

They’d been together for almost three years, and he had never seen her like this.

She finally stopped, having been sick for quite so ti, and he quickly tore off so tissues to wipe her clean, supporting her back onto the bed.

She was weak, with faint traces of a smile at the corners of her lips, as if just having survived a harsh battle, "Feels much better getting it out..."

He glanced at the yellow liquid on the floor, then at the ti on his phone, "The dicine’s only been in for less than half an hour; chances are it’s all thrown up, needs to be taken again."

She waved her hand with her eyes closed, burnt out, but still rembered her aversion to the dicine, "...I don’t get along with that dicine; it makes incredibly nauseous, it’s unbearable to throw up, I don’t want to take it..."

"How are you going to lower your fever without dicine?" Simon Forrester rummaged through the bag containing the dicine, "Then take another brand, I bought several types..."

He searched, but suddenly stopped talking. After a few seconds, he looked up at Sienna Thornton, "There’s a rectal suppository for fever, this one won’t make you throw up; how about it?"

Sienna Thornton weakly asked, "What’s that?"

Simon Forrester didn’t reply, sitting on the bed, pulling back the covers, almost without hesitation turning Sienna Thornton’s body over...
