(Continued from Chapter 471)
Simon Forrester was pulled aside by Quentin Thorne to discuss wedding details for over an hour.
When he returned to the room, Sienna Thornton was unlocking a password-protected suitcase. He closed the door and asked, "Have you signed everything? Any issues?"
"The store’s paperwork is fine, but I haven’t signed the hotel and mall transfer agreents yet."
Simon Forrester walked over and asked, "Why not? What’s missing?"
"Nothing." Sienna looked at him, hesitated for a mont, and awkwardly said, "Thornton suggested not signing until Prosper Law has conducted due diligence and everything checks out."
Simon Forrester imdiately understood upon hearing this.
He didn’t bla Quentin for being cautious, and instead, he comforted the slightly guilty-looking Sienna, "That’s how it should be. What if they gave us units that are losing money? Signing it would make us regret it too late."
Sienna felt embarrassed and stood on tiptoes to hug him, "Do you think I’m overthinking this?"
Simon Forrester laughed, "Have I just t you today?"
Sienna hugged him and laughed out loud, and the two fell back onto the big bed behind them.
Lying in Simon Forrester’s arms, she quietly felt his warm embrace. They didn’t speak for a while, she just stayed close to him, reflecting and calming her mind.
A lot happened today, but what shocked her the most was Simon Forrester’s decision to give her a 25% equity share. From Old Master Forrester’s reaction, she could tell that Simon must have acted first and reported later. She was also curious about how Simon managed to persuade Zane Forrester and his sister to agree to the equity gift.
She tapped Simon Forrester’s chest with her finger and asked, "How exactly did you talk to your aunt and dad? Would they agree to let you give the shares?"
"I exchanged 10% of my shares in Grant USA for my dad’s support, so naturally, he agreed." Simon Forrester laughed, "He probably thinks that once I have no shares left in Grant USA, I would have no say in things there. He originally didn’t want ddling in his affairs anyway."
Sienna was shocked, struggled to get up, and playfully hit his shoulder, "You’re absolutely crazy! Why would you do such a thing?"
Simon Forrester was unbothered, "So what? When my dad passes, won’t Grant USA still be mine? He’s in his sixties, and even if he holds 100% equity, what more can he do? If he doesn’t do well, I’ll still tell him what I think."
Sienna was both amused and exasperated, "Last ti when your mom was going through a divorce, you even ntioned the possibility of your dad having an illegitimate child."
Simon Forrester didn’t answer for a mont, chuckled for a while, and slyly said, "I looked into it, and there’s none."
Sienna casually said, "n can still father children even into their eighties, don’t get too happy yet." After saying that, she snuggled back into Simon Forrester’s embrace.
Simon Forrester glanced down at her and amusingly said, "So, you’re saying that even in my fifties, I could have a new brother or sister?"
Sienna imagined that scenario and found it terrifying, so she stopped thinking about it, switching topics, "I know what you an, and even if you didn’t give shares, I would still understand. So please, no more share transfers, okay?"
Hugging her, Simon Forrester softly humd in agreent, "I just want you to have more confidence in this marriage. You once said that having seen too many divorce cases, you lost faith in marriage and were a non-marriage advocate."
Sienna recalled sothing, rembering it was more than three years ago on a flight from Norport back to Brimfield. At that ti, she’d just gone through linda Linton’s illness, the grievances with The Raines Family, and didn’t know where her father was, making her views on marriage and family extrely negative and faithless. So she said she had no family and was a non-marriage advocate then.
But back then, Simon Forrester told her that a family, in a narrow sense, could also be ford by unrelated individuals, like a couple.
"I still rember what you said back then," Sienna said, lying on Simon Forrester’s chest, looking at a point in space, "At that ti, I thought you had a very healthy view of marriage and relationships. You seed like a normal man."
Simon Forrester, of course, rembered those monts too, and chuckled, "You were wrong."
"Hmm?" Sienna lifted her head to look at him, puzzled, "What do you an?"
Simon Forrester pulled her back into his embrace, kissed her temple, and softly said, "While you were negative about marriage, I was thoroughly enjoying the single life."
"Ah?" Sienna was even more confused.
Simon Forrester smiled and said, "I left ho at eighteen and consider myself quite capable of being alone. I always believed that if soone of the opposite sex were to enter my life, it must be aningful and valuable. Otherwise, I’d rather be by myself."
