"It’s only been a year since my last birthday, hasn’t it?" Simon Forrester chuckled.

Sienna Thornton put her fingers to her lips, pouted, and asked, "Yeah, why?"

"Do you rember the birthday gift you gave last year?"

Sienna shook her head, "I don’t rember."

Simon: "..."

He intended to remind her that last year’s birthday gift was the decision to have a child, but now the test showed no pregnancy, so why was she so happy?

He put away the ineffective test strip and took out another one, carefully dropping a urine sample on it. The strip slowly absorbed the liquid, turning a damp dark pink, and finally, all the pink faded away, leaving behind two horizontal lines.

There’s really a baby.

Simon smiled with pressed lips, his hand shaking slightly as he held the test strip.

Though it was a big surprise, it wasn’t that unexpected. Sienna, who’s usually very punctual with her period, was over a week late this ti, so he was already ntally prepared to beco a father.

Sienna saw him standing by the sink for a long ti and went over, resting her chin on his shoulder. Before she could clearly see the test results, she joked playfully, "Do you think my period is late because the water and climate in Valois didn’t suit ?"

Before she finished, Simon had already turned around to pull her into his arms. Her arms naturally wrapped around his waist, and she looked up to smile at him.

He hugged her, kissed her forehead, and then tightly held her, softly asking, "How about we na our child Kaden? When the child asks about their na’s origin, we can say, ’You were conceived when your mom returned triumphantly after winning a battle.’

She giggled in his embrace, "You make it sound like I’m really pregnant."

He turned slightly, lifted the test strip from the side of the sink to show her, "Two lines, we really have a baby now."

She stared at the two lines, dazed for a mont, then suddenly let out a low exclamation, "Really? But I haven’t felt nauseous!"

He laughed at her, "Not every pregnant woman experiences nausea."

"Ah... oh my... the due date is next August... it’s going to be so hot..." she clutched her head, crying and laughing.

They had been trying to conceive for a year, and the baby ca just after she finished her case. It felt considerate and thoughtful. Even before being born, she already had a good impression of their little one.

But thinking about spending the postnatal month in the hottest season gave her a headache. Even if it were delayed by two months, spending it in October with the pleasant autumn weather would be better.

After listening to her ramble, Simon laughed, "Nowadays, postnatal confinent is done scientifically. They won’t keep you tucked under blankets in the hot weather, don’t worry."

"But what if your mom or your grandma insists? I’ve heard it was common in their generation."

Speaking of Sylvia and Grandma Forrester, Simon’s face instantly showed annoyance, "They won’t be taking care of you during your confinent. If they want to visit you and the baby, I have to be there."

With that, he had already nipped potential mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law issues during confinent in the bud.

Sienna laughed uncontrollably, hugging Simon, she asked, "Then should we hire Auntie King to help during my confinent?"

Upon hearing that, Simon’s brows furrowed imdiately, "Isn’t Auntie King a dostic helper?"

"She helped her daughter during her confinent."

"That won’t do, it’s not professional. I’ll consult Jack Hawthorne later and find out where the most high-end postpartum care center in town is."

"Those care centers are really expensive!"

"You’re making sound like a pauper."

"Haha..."

Cuddling, they went back to their bedroom, lay on the bed, and started planning whether to visit the hospital in a few days.

Both inexperienced, Simon simply searched online, but the information was varied and made his head spin. He initially thought to call Tobias Blackwood, who beca a father years earlier, to seek advice, but realized that procedures might have changed over ti. So, he decided to call Scott Langford, down in The South.

Scott, a surgeon, had trained in obstetrics for a year just to personally deliver his wife’s second child. Simon thought that consulting Scott was undoubtedly the right choice.

Scott was delighted to hear Simon was going to be a dad, congratulated them, and soon sent over a detailed docunt outlining what prenatal tests to do at different stages of pregnancy and what issues pregnant won should be aware of.

Sienna made a note on her phone, "First, get a blood test to check progesterone and hCG, then do an ultrasound to confirm it’s an intrauterine pregnancy. Fingers crossed!"

Simon chuckled, "With our good health and healthy lifestyles, everything should go smoothly."

That was indeed true.

Since they started dating, Simon stopped smoking his favorite cigars. During their year of trying to conceive, he only drank wine during necessary social events and abstained from all other alcohol. He religiously drank two glasses of fresh milk every day and complained if he didn’t eat fruit. Plus, with fitness equipnt and a pool on the third floor, he started waking up half an hour earlier to make breakfast, swim a few laps, shower, change, and prepare for work. In the evenings, he kept up both aerobic and anaerobic exercises.

As for Sienna, besides enjoying at and disliking exercise, she had no other bad habits and was healthier than Simon, with a robust constitution.

They strongly believed their baby would be sturdy and super intelligent.

After half a day of brainstorming, Sienna suddenly returned to the topic of Simon’s choice for the baby’s na. She wasn’t entirely on board, "Kaden Forrester, it sounds quite masculine. What if it’s a girl, would the na still work?"

Simon raised an eyebrow, glanced at her, then at the docunt in his hand, doodling with his pen, "Why not? To , a girl with that na sounds even bolder! It’s great."

Sienna propped her chin, pondered for a while, then said, "I rember you have a friend nad Kaden?"

"Kevin Chaucer?"

"Yes, yes, won’t our baby’s na be the sa as your friend’s then?"

"So what? He has his na, and we have ours."

Sienna giggled, "You better get past your grandfather first."

Simon paused with the pen in his hand.

Recalling how Old Master Forrester wanted to na the law firm when Sienna started it, he was sure the great-grandfather would insist on naming his own great-grandchild. Anticipating a tough battle, Simon felt a slight headache, put aside the half-read docunt, pulled Sienna into his arms, turned off the lights, and went to sleep.

The next day, after having breakfast at ho, they strolled over to linda Linton’s place.

Just after entering the elevator, Simon reminded, "You’re now a pregnant woman, keep calm and talk things through nicely; it wouldn’t be good for our baby if you get too emotional."
