The postpartum care center delivers als five tis a day, mainly featuring light, nutritious foods to promote milk production. The portions aren’t large, but Sienna Thornton rarely finishes them all, leaving Simon Forrester to eat the leftovers.
Every morning and afternoon, a therapist cos to guide Sienna through various postpartum recovery exercises, usually on the second floor of the villa. After a day of rehab exercises, a professional nurse cos in the evening to help the mother and baby bathe.
When Sienna is not around, Simon takes charge of looking after the baby.
To ensure the mother’s rest, the care center offers services to specially tend to newborns. Whenever the mother requests, a senior baby nurse is available to take the baby for care. But Sienna and Simon have never let their son out of their sight.
Fortunately, little Kevin is well-behaved and rarely fusses. He usually sleeps after eating and only cries occasionally. Simon coaxes him by holding him in a plane position for a while, and he settles right down.
Simon generally spends ti with his wife and child. If he has matters to attend to at Forrester Group, he asks Sylvia Langley or linda Linton to accompany Sienna, returning ho as soon as his work is done.
Sylvia is an understanding mother-in-law who, although not much help, doesn’t ddle or boss around her daughter-in-law. She often tells jokes to Sienna, lifting her spirits. Sienna even secretly told Simon she prefers Sylvia’s visits over the silent, traditional linda.
Day by day, the postpartum period is going well, comfortable, peaceful, and content.
When the baby turned three weeks old, Simon and Sienna respectively announced the birth in their social circles, causing friends to flock around.
The visitors were their closest friends, whom both sides knew well, making for a relaxed atmosphere.
Still, one visitor’s arrival displeased Simon slightly.
It was an afternoon when Sienna and the baby were napping, and Maeve showed up.
Simon opened the door, seeing Maeve with dyed black long hair and a bare face; he didn’t recognize her at first because it had been so long, and he wasn’t used to her current image — so prim and proper like a well-behaved college student.
Upon seeing him, Maeve smiled faintly, saying, "I ca to see Sienna and the baby."
Simon quickly stepped aside: "They’re sleeping in the room, co in and have a seat."
Coincidentally, just as Maeve sat down, Sienna erged, and, thrilled to see her friend, she ran over to hug Maeve, seated on the couch.
"Where did you co from?" Sienna asked.
Maeve chuckled: "From ho, left at nine this morning."
"Did you have lunch?"
"Had it at a service station."
Sienna kept hugging her, laughing together for a while before saying, "Co on, let’s go to the room to see my son."
Maeve followed her into the room.
Simon didn’t follow them; he really didn’t want to see his wife’s pre-marriage crush.
A short while later, soone else rang the bell, Simon opened it to find Gage Grant outside, holding two bags of diapers.
Simon was surprised: "Skipped work to co over?"
Gage smirked: "Not really. Accompanying the boss nearby for an inspection, thought I’d drop by since you’re here."
Simon stepped aside to let him in.
The two sat in the living room, making tea.
Simon said, "My wife’s friend is inside looking after the baby, please wait a bit, I’ll bring the baby out later for you to see."
Gage gulped down so hot tea, laughed: "Heard your son is very handso?"
"Like ."
Such indirect self-praise struck the bullseye.
Gage laughed, saying, "The day your son was born, before your grandpa even entered his own house, he rushed to mine to boast to my grandpa that he has a great-grandson now, and that the baby is really handso."
Simon guessed it was his grandfather who went to boast to Uncle Grant next door, understandably smiled: "After the baby was born, my grandpa was indeed overjoyed."
Gage sighed with envy: "Really great."
The two chatted for a while, door to the room opened, and Sienna ca out arm in arm with Maeve, chatting and laughing.
Simon instinctively looked at Gage.
Gage’s eyes were glued to Maeve, unmistakably entranced.
Sienna saw him, gave a small smile: "Gage, you’re here."
Gage snapped out of it, "Yeah, nearby for work, thought I’d stop by." Saying so, he picked up the bags of diapers by his side, handing them to Sienna, "Congratulations, grabbed so diapers for the baby."
Sienna took them, looked down and laughed: "These are for a girl, ours is a boy."
Gage was slightly embarrassed, scratching his head: "I’ll get so boy ones later."
Simon took the diapers from Sienna’s hands: "No worries, the boy-girl distinction is just a marketing ploy; they all work."
He took the diapers back to the room, along with bringing the baby out for Gage to see.
Gage took a good look at the baby, said: "Really does look like Jules."
Sienna glanced at Simon with a playful scold: "Like him? Dating at thirty? I’d worry to death."
Gage interjected: "I also hope to have a son, as charming as ." He said, linking eyes briefly with Maeve, casting her a flirtatious glance.
Maeve rolled her eyes.
Simon witnessed their exchange, walking Gage out, wanting to ask about Maeve, but Gage brought up the Mooncrest project.
"Why haven’t you approved the Mooncrest project yet? Holt’s got the land prepared, houses demolished, and now stalled on your end, delaying the project for another six months!"
Simon said nothing at first, walking a distance before asking: "Did you na Mooncrest?"
Gage stayed silent.
Simon pressed: "Is Mooncrest linked to Maeve?"
Gage, thinking Holt had told Simon everything, candidly admitted: "Yeah, she’s making a coback, I’m building the place for her independent use."
Simon shook his head, speechless.
Given Gage’s past habit of only giving pocket money to his partners, spending a fortune to build a building for a woman ant sothing serious.
Simon wanted to ask about his relationship with Maeve but hesitated to voice it, letting it go.

After seeing Gage off to the parking lot, Simon headed back to the villa.
When he ca in, Maeve was already gone. Sienna was in bed, nursing the baby.
He approached, teasing the baby’s chubby cheek, and quietly asked: "When did Maeve leave?"
"Just a while ago; said she wanted to explore the lovely scenery around."
Simon understood.
With the baby in his spot, he had to sit at the foot of the bed, casually chatting with Sienna.
"Did Maeve ntion Fourth Master Grant?"
