After Sylvia Langley took Victor back, Sienna Thornton lay on the bed and cried for a while.
Just as her shoulders were shaking with sobs, the mattress behind her suddenly sagged slightly, a warm aura drew near, and the scent of fir trees filled her nostrils.
The man hugged her from behind, gently consoling her, "It’s okay, don’t be afraid."
The warm palm rested on her high, rounded belly, and warm, soft lips kissed her earlobe.
She shrank her neck, laboriously turned over, wanting to snuggle into his arms, but couldn’t due to her large pregnant belly.
She cried even louder, "It’s been so long since we held each other properly."
He smiled, trying his best to fit his body with hers, lowered his head to find her lips, and kissed her gently and tenderly.
After a while of kissing, she felt much calr, blushing as she turned back over, her back pressing against Simon Forrester’s chest, slightly cool hands covering the back of his hand, she sniffed and asked, "How do you know it’s two girls? It could also be two boys, or a boy and a girl."
"Your pregnancy reaction this ti is different from the last, so I’m guessing it’s not boys."
Sienna chuckled, rubbing the tears in her eyes, "Well, then two girls are also pretty good."
"Of course that’s good," in the darkness, Cyrus’s eyes and voice softened, holding her, he said, "Annie takes after , and for sure the daughters will take after you, beautiful and adorable."
He praised their daughters, which in turn also praised her, which made her feel both embarrassed and sweet inside.
She held his arm coquettishly and said, "I’m already thirty-six, and you’re still calling cute..."
"In my heart, even if you were eighty-six, you’d still be lovely."
"Hubby, you’re also very handso at forty-one," she turned over, poking at his still firm six-pack abs with her index finger, laughing muffledly, "and you have a great body..."
"Can’t let you lose face." He held her tightly, kissed her brows and eyes, murmuring, "I love you, wife."
"I love you too, hubby."
...
Early the next morning, Sienna Thornton woke up.
Actually, she had also woken up twice during the night, as she often experienced leg cramps late in pregnancy, and every ti Simon Forrester would get up to help massage and relax her muscles.
She started fasting last night, and now she felt sowhat weak from hunger. After washing up, she lay on the bed waiting for the nurses to co in and prepare for the C-section.
Around seven, Sylvia Langley brought Victor, Old Master Forrester, Zane Forrester, Quentin Thorne, linda Linton, and Mina Thorne.
Seeing the tension on everyone’s faces, Sienna pretended to be relaxed and smiled, "It’s okay, just having a baby."
Although she was pregnant with twins this ti and was an older pregnant woman, with today’s advances in obstetrics, usually nothing would happen, but everyone still wanted to be with her during the surgery, out of concern and also worrying.
Victor was in Simon Forrester’s arms. After a while, he said, "I want to hug mommy and the baby sister," then wriggled out of Simon Forrester’s arms and got down.
The little boy, who had just celebrated his fourth birthday, wore Levi’s latest autumn jeans and sweatshirt for boys, an Adidas black trench coat, and white Nike air-cushioned shoes. His skin was fair and clean, hair styled back with gel, eyes big and bright, lips ruddy.
He jogged over to the side with a low stool, stepped on it, gently hugged Sienna’s pregnant belly, and said in a childish voice, "Good morning, baby sister, we’re going to et soon, so be good."
Afterwards, he sat by the bed to hug Sienna, "Grandma said it will be just an hour. Mom, you can treat it like spending an hour with reading picture books. It’ll be fine, don’t worry."
Tears brimd in Sienna’s eyes; she stretched out her arms, hugged her son into her arms, kissed his hair silently nodding.
Mina Thorne, having experienced childbirth ergencies, also had tears welling up in her eyes and turned her head to wipe them.
The atmosphere in the room grew somber.
Sylvia Langley tried to lighten the mood, saying, "Our little Kyle is a little gentlen, so caring even at such a young age. Jules and Annie are blessed in the future."
Quentin Thorne nodded approvingly watching Victor and his eldest daughter.
After a while, the director and Joyce Sutton ca over, soothing the pregnant woman and her family, ntioning so points to note for the upcoming surgery, and then the nurses ca in to prepare Sienna for the surgery.
At eight-thirty, Sienna was wheeled out of the ward. Simon Forrester followed the gurney closely, holding his wife’s hand.
As she was about to be taken into the operating room, he, with reddened eyes, leaned over to kiss her, his warm palm caressing her forehead tied into a bun.
"Our son and I will be waiting outside for you, it’s okay, don’t be afraid."
Claiming not to be afraid was untrue.
Sienna too, with reddened eyes, nodded at him, and was taken inside.
...
An hour later, the surgery wasn’t over yet.
Sylvia Langley and Quentin Thorne sat in the family waiting area, talking in low voices; Victor sat obediently by Old Master Forrester’s side reading a picture book, while Zane Forrester and Old Master Forrester bowed their heads in silence.
Simon Forrester stood by the window, looking at the bustling street below, his mind in turmoil.
He was thinking about how to arrange the ti after the birth of the children, so that the busy Sienna could live more easily, and the children could have all the love and companionship.
"Jules," Sylvia Langley waved him over, "the surgery’s over, co quickly."
Simon Forrester snapped back to reality, looked at the screen, saw Sienna Thornton’s na, with the previous three red characters "In Surgery" now turned to "Surgery Finished," and strode over.
Just then, the doors of the operating room opened. Still in green surgical attire, Joyce Sutton and the director ca out.
The Forrester family and the Thorne family imdiately rushed over.
Joyce Sutton pulled down her mask, smiled and said, "Congratulations, Mr. Forrester, the mother gave birth safely to a 2.6-kilogram baby boy and a 2.5-kilogram baby girl."
Sylvia Langley was the first to react, surprised and delighted, "Is it a set of twins?" Then imdiately followed up with, "How is my daughter-in-law now? Is she doing okay ntally?"
Joyce Sutton smiled, "The mother’s ntal state is very good, both she and the babies are doing well. Everyone can rest assured. Two family mbers can co with to see the babies and mother."
Simon Forrester, with furrowed brow, looked at Sylvia Langley, "Mom, you take the kids, I’ll see Annie."
"Okay."
The mother and son went inside with Joyce Sutton, while the director explained the surgical procedure to Quentin Thorne outside.
In the recovery room, Simon Forrester saw Sienna Thornton resting with her eyes closed on the hospital bed.
Just like last ti, her upper body covered by a blanket, exposing her bare shoulder blade.
Simon Forrester walked over, gently peeking under the blanket, only to find two red, chubby toddlers snuggling naked against their mother.
Sylvia Langley leaned over to take a look and softly asked, "Is it the brother and sister, or the sister and brother?"
