"Thank you," Sienna Thornton also smiled, polite and courteous, "I don’t feel the sa way about you, so I won’t return the sentint!"
Simon Forrester understood, his smile faded a bit. He quietly finished his porridge and juice but didn’t leave imdiately. Instead, he sat in the dining room and chatted with Sienna Thornton for a while.
He asked, "Besides making porridge, what else can you cook?"
"Almost all the everyday dishes."
Simon Forrester was surprised, "What year were you born?"
"1991."
"Twenty-seven?" He laughed, "It’s rare to see soone from the 90s who can cook everyday als."
In his circle, not only those born in the 90s, but even among won from the 80s, there were few who could cook.
Sienna Thornton didn’t mind: "A poor man’s child becos independent early. I went out into the world at fifteen, and if I didn’t learn so cooking skills, I’d starve."
Her tone was casual, like she was talking about sothing trivial. She didn’t show any restraint or try to conceal her background.
Simon Forrester’s eyes held admiration, but he didn’t ask more questions.
He was actually very curious about how soone with Sienna Thornton’s background achieved her current success. She seed to be one of the lucky few who caught the last train of "knowledge changes class." Of course, she had to have worked hard, but it wasn’t sothing that her offhand remark of "because college doesn’t cost money" could fully explain.
Simon Forrester was curious about everything about her, but he wasn’t in a hurry and wouldn’t use other ans to investigate her, even though a phone call could get him all her information.
"What about you?" Sienna Thornton asked, "What year were you born?"
Simon Forrester snapped back to reality: "1986."
Sienna Thornton stretched out the "oh," "You’re five years older than , you know they say there’s a generational gap every three years, no wonder we can’t communicate well."
Simon Forrester raised an eyebrow disdainfully, mocking lightly: "Really? If you find it hard to communicate with , I don’t mind dumbing myself down for you."
Sienna Thornton: "..."
Once again, Simon Forrester killed the conversation, making Sienna Thornton’s head throb. She hastily finished her porridge, got up to tidy up the dishes and kitchen, and went back to her room to call Maeve, insisting she had to co over today to keep her company no matter what.
"Ding..." The doorbell rang. Sienna Thornton quickly ca out of her room and ran into Simon Forrester, who also ca out of the study.
She pointed at the door and gave an awkward smile, "Maeve is coming over today to keep company, you don’t mind, do you?"
"I don’t mind."
With his permission, Sienna Thornton went to open the door and saw Maeve standing there with paper bags, looking like a lifesaver. She eagerly invited her inside.
"Didn’t you bring any clothes?" Sienna Thornton looked Maeve over, not seeing any luggage. "Didn’t you say you’d stay with till tomorrow?"
Maeve glanced awkwardly at Simon Forrester, who was pouring water at the bar, and whispered, "I can stay with you until after your shower."
"No way!" Sienna Thornton got angry, pulling Maeve into her room.
Once the door was closed, she began to recount how Simon Forrester got drunk last night, not only forcing her to undress him for a bath but also setting up a situation where she ended up in the wrong room and bed halfway through the night.
Maeve laughed heartily, poking Sienna Thornton’s nose, "He was the one who helped rescue you from the village chief. He spent money and effort, risking danger to get you out. How can you think he has such sleazy intentions?"
"Saving and lusting after are two different things, okay?" Sienna Thornton huffed, falling onto the bed. "If you don’t stay tonight, take with you. I miss Laura anyway."
"Then let ask you," Maeve chuckled, "are lusting and love at first sight the sa thing?"
"One’s derogatory, the other’s complintary, there’s a big difference!"
Picking up on Maeve’s implication, Sienna Thornton jumped up from the bed, grabbing Maeve’s arm, asking fiercely, "Are you staying or not?"
"Okay, okay, I’ll stay," Maeve relented, "So, may I ask if Lawyer Thornton can get up and have lunch now?"
Only then did Sienna Thornton cheer up.
When they went out, Simon Forrester had already opened Maeve’s packed lunch and set out three sets of utensils.
Maeve sat next to Sienna Thornton, raising her eyebrows at Simon Forrester, she said with a smile, "Isn’t today a workday? Mr. Forrester isn’t working?"
Simon Forrester replied casually, "I drank too much last night, so I’m working from ho today."
"Oh, I see. I thought the caregiver took a day off and Mr. Forrester specifically took the day off to stay ho with our Sienna."
