Sienna Thornton felt as if her body had been split in half, the right side was in intense pain.
She instinctively reached to touch her face, it was all wet, her whole body was as well, the fitted white shirt clung stickily to her skin, and she couldn’t open her eyes. All she knew was that it was very noisy around her, the "beeping" of instrunts, the whooshing sound of wind, and the sirens of the ambulance.
"Doctor, how is she? Is she okay?"
"Her vital signs are normal, but her bones definitely have issues. A vase that heavy, if it doesn’t break, it surely fractures. As for her head, we’ll only know after we get her to the hospital for further examination..."
Maeve was talking with the doctor beside her.
Sienna Thornton was in unbearable pain, not just because of the intense pain on her right side, but also because of the imnse panic from not being able to open her eyes.
But she had a pretty strong will. Even though she was sowhat disoriented at the mont, she vaguely rembered before she fainted for the second ti, she seed to have fallen in the guest bathroom at Simon Forrester’s house, then sothing fell, hit her leg, and the pain made her pass out.
Realizing she was in trouble, she wailed internally, just as she was about to endure the pain and struggle to get up, the car door opened at that mont, a biting cold wind blew in, and two paradics carried her along with the stretcher into the ergency room.
The ergency room was chaotic, with nurses performing all sorts of checks on her, asking her simple questions, and doctors working on her right leg.
She bit her lips, enduring the sharp pain in her right leg, very tired but not daring to fall asleep, lying on the ergency bed, paying attention to everything around her.
After so ergency treatnt, the ergency doctor said to the nurse: "Prepare to send her to orthopedic surgery imdiately."
Surgery?
Sienna Thornton was shocked, just as she was about to reach out and grab the little nurse standing by the bed to ask what was going on, she was swiftly pushed out of the ergency room.
Maeve, who had been waiting outside, anxiously ca up, following the stretcher, leaning down and whispering: "The doctor said you’re okay, but your right leg might be fractured."
Sienna Thornton’s pale little face was in so much pain she couldn’t utter a word, she could only nod, gritting her teeth.
After the orthopedic check, it turned out she only had a fracture crack in her right tibia and fibula, no need for surgery to insert steel plates, just a plaster cast to hold it for a month.
Once the cast was set, Sienna Thornton was escorted to a ward and settled in by Maeve and a nurse. It was already the latter half of the night, and after all this turmoil, she was completely awake.
Seeing the ward was a quiet, cozy single room, Sienna Thornton frowned and asked Maeve: "This room costs 2000 a day, right?"
"Eighteen hundred." Maeve brought over a bowl of porridge.
Sienna Thornton inhaled sharply, "How long will I need to stay in my condition?"
Maeve was just about to speak when a knock on the door interrupted. She moved forward, glanced outside through the glass on the door, turned and asked, "The male owner of the house where you fell is here, should I let him in?"
"Hmm?" Sienna Thornton was montarily stunned, she realized after a mont, "Is it Simon Forrester? Quickly let him in!"
She didn’t expect at this hour, Simon Forrester would co to the hospital to visit her.
Simon Forrester walked in, his expression indifferent, but upon closer look, one could see the weariness on his face.
He was carrying things in both hands, still wearing the clothes Sienna Thornton saw on him at his house last night, but with a black trench coat added over it.
He placed the fruit basket and milk on the table and didn’t say much, just stared at Sienna Thornton with an inquisitive gaze.
After a mont of silence between them, he got straight to the point: "You were injured at my place, Lawyer Thornton. I will cover all your expenses until you recover, including dical expenses, nutrition fees, transportation fees, and loss of inco."
"Hmm?"
Before this, Sienna Thornton hadn’t thought of holding him responsible, after all, she knew well why she fell at his house.
But hearing him ntion it, Sienna Thornton had another plan in mind.
She concealed the cunning in her eyes and feigned weakness: "Isn’t there one more thing missing?"
