He was quite puzzled. Had Ji Wenrui made a mistake, or had the old mbers of the Demon Martial Hall at Queyu Mountain received the news in advance and fled?
"Sigh."
Li Jiu was very dissatisfied. It was a rare opportunity to leave the Soul-Devouring Abyssal Prison, only to end up on a pointless trip.
"Let’s go in and take a look."
Wang Shi was so excited his brain seed to quake, "Hoo—hoo—I’ve got to have a good chat with my long-lost friends here. Hopefully... I’ll find so interesting diseases on them. Don’t let get bored, eh."
Li Jiu started coughing violently again, blood soaking through his silk scarf.
The two entered the city.
As soon as they went in, Wang Shi felt sothing was wrong, "What’s going on? Why do I feel so peaceful and serene, like everyone’s in blissful harmony?" His body leaned forward, but his head twisted backward, staring at Li Jiu, "Why don’t I feel any sickness? Didn’t you say this place is Sickness City?"
Li Jiu also felt confused, tapping his cane on the ground, "Sothing seems off."
Wang Shi was already enraged, like an angry brown bear, he stord into a household. His eyes, like green beans, flashed with a ghostly light, scanning for prey, then he kicked open a door, barged into a room, and yanked a sleeping male hoowner up.
Startled awake, the man shouted, "Who are you!"
The woman beside him also woke up, frightened, shrinking into the corner of the bed.
Wang Shi strained his eyes to widen, giving the man a once-over, the flesh on his face trembled as if his teeth would shatter, "You’re not sick!"
He tossed the man aside. The man slamd into the wall, spat out blood, and lost consciousness.
Then he grabbed the frightened woman in the bed corner, "Not sick, you’re not sick either!"
He examined everyone in the household, a total of six people.
"Not sick, not a trace of illness! Your heads are filled with happiness and joy. What the hell are you doing living in Sickness City!" Wang Shi was at his breaking point, angrily smashing the entire house into rubble.
The beastly roars completely drowned out the cries and pleas for rcy.
"Why! Why aren’t you sick! Why are you this happy! Why are your neighborhoods harmonious and families perfect! Why are you parents and children together! So clean it makes sick!"
Suddenly, Wang Shi began to cry, squatting in the street, vomiting and weeping. Mucus and tears covered his face.
He knelt on the ground, clutching his head and banging it against the ground.
Each bang caused the entire Sickness City to shake. Spiderweb-like cracks spread from where he knelt, rippling outwards. The surrounding buildings couldn’t withstand the force, collapsing almost instantly, burying one blissful family after another.
Li Jiu stood beside him, "Enough. They’re not sick."
Wang Shi lifted his head, angrily questioning, "Why did you lie to ? They’re clearly not sick! I was so eager, so eager! Now you tell , they’re not sick?!"
"Soone cured them."
"Cured?" Wang Shi froze, his pupils beginning to tremble as if his brains were about to burst from his orifices. His entire face swelled to an extre, "So disgusting... to actually cure the patients. Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting..." he mumbled as if he had lost his soul.
Soon, his eyes flared with a hatred so intense it was unrecognizable. He looked at the bewildered, fleeing "healthy people," his voice cold as an evil spirit, "Cured, you have no value now, just at on a chopping board... to be! Chopped! Up!"
Li Jiu frowned, "We ca here to find the Demon Martial Hall."
Wang Shi clawed at his own face, sharply declaring, "There’s no Demon Martial Hall here! Only these accursed healthy people! They’ve deceived , they all deserve to die!"
Li Jiu silently watched Wang Shi.
He knew both he and Wang Shi were bound by the Soul-locking Chain, to prevent their souls from losing control.
But he also knew that at this mont, Wang Shi wasn’t out of control; he was always like this.
Li Jiu silently thought, "Grand Commander, you shouldn’t have brought Wang Shi here."
Wang Shi had cracked the very foundation of Sickness City. Suddenly, he saw sothing wriggling in the cracks.
Then, feeling sothing, he exclaid in delight, "I found it!"
"Found what?"
"Illness! Such a terrifying illness!" Wang Shi exclaid excitedly, "All the illness in the city must be down there! The person who cured them must be down there too!"
Li Jiu furrowed his brows, "It might be people from the Demon Martial Hall, break it open quickly!"
Wang Shi threw his head back fiercely and slamd it down.
A massive crack burst open, revealing the scene beneath Sickness City. A gigantic mass of flesh filled all the space below, a concentrated aura of "sickness" spewing out.
...
Fan Wubing lay curled up on the flesh bed of Lord Rou.
Cold sweat soaked his clothes over and over. Lord Rou continuously tried in various ways to alleviate his agony. But a fortune illness wasn’t a normal sickness; its pain was the pain of the soul, the agony of the will.
The Mountain God wept beside him, "Lord Envoy... boohoo..." He dared not imagine what kind of tornt it was for one to bear seven thousand five hundred and forty-two kinds of sicknesses.
At this mont, Fan Wubing was covered head to toe in scars. They rose high and writhed incessantly, as if parasitic worms beneath his skin and flesh, unabashedly gnawing at his body and soul.
He was lucid, more lucid than ever.
Because he knew if his will succumbed to rest, he would be pierced through by pain instantly. The soothing effect brought by The Sound of Rain Dragon Heavenly River was gradually losing its impact. He felt pain tens, even twelve tis over.
