"Go die, you bastard!"
The assassin's shout echoed as his dagger was less than a ter away from Zheng-Fu. This would have been a difficult attack for most to block in ti, but for Zheng-Fu, it was easy. He sneered and exhaled, activating his body-protection energy.
Huh!!!
Clunk!!!
The sound of tal clashing reverberated loudly, causing ears to ring. It was the sound of the assassin's dagger colliding with a large, bell-shaped golden energy barrier that enveloped Zheng-Fu's entire body.
Woooooosh!!!
Thud!!!
"It's… im... impossibl... argh!!!"
While the assassin was still in shock, Zheng-Fu's fist slamd into his stomach with full force, leaving him speechless, gasping, and choking on a mouthful of blood. He collapsed helplessly, unable to stand.
Zheng-Fu's fist carried an imnse amount of energy, powerful enough to severely injure even a late or interdiate Divine Emperor stage martial master. The assassin, hit with such force, could do nothing but lie on the ground, crippled.
"I told you both to tell who sent you. You wouldn't have had to suffer like this if you had listened."
Blop!!!
After speaking, Zheng-Fu reached out and grabbed the assassin's head. The assassin, weakened and in pain from the blow, could not resist.
"Wha... wha... what are you... going to do?" the assassin asked in a panic, sensing that sothing dreadful was about to happen. He thought of biting his tongue to end his life, but before he could act, Zheng-Fu's voice interrupted.
[Soul Sealing Skill: First Stage–Searching for the Truth]
Wooooosh!!!
As Zheng-Fu's words concluded, an invisible wave of energy surged from his hand into the assassin's brain, activating the Soul Sealing skill.
Aaaah!!!
Flop!!!
"Who sent you?" Zheng-Fu asked, removing his hand after the skill had taken effect. The assassin, now under the spell, replied imdiately, his face lifeless.
"The second concubine sent us," the assassin answered.
The second concubine!?
"And who else is working with the second concubine?" Zheng-Fu pressed, certain that she wasn't acting alone.
"Along with the second concubine, there's the second prince, the fourth prince, Commander Han-Fei-Zhong, several high-ranking nobles, noble families from the capital, and other powerful individuals," the assassin continued, answering without hesitation.
"Mhm… I suspected the fourth prince was involved. This situation is more complicated than I thought. But even if there are more people behind this, there won't be any assassins at the ninth level of the Divine Emperor stage coming after ," Zheng-Fu mused after learning the identities of those involved.
After extracting more information from the assassin, Zheng-Fu killed him. He then cremated both assassins to erase any evidence of their existence. Before burning their bodies, he made sure to retrieve the dinsional rings they carried.
Wooooosh!!!
Once everything was done, Zheng-Fu erged from his hidden dinsional space. Now only a hundred pings away from Qi-Fu-Er's mansion, his heart raced with excitent.
"I'm finally going to see you," Zheng-Fu whispered before disappearing, heading straight for Qi-Fu-Er's mansion.
In a spacious room inside a dium-sized mansion near the City Governor's residence...
"Elder Sister, it's a sha you couldn't attend the party today. You would have seen sothing really interesting," a familiar young woman's voice rang out happily. It was Qi-Luo-Qing, speaking to the veiled woman in front of her.
"What interesting thing? Why don't you tell ?" the veiled woman replied, smiling warmly.
"Elder Sister, you might enjoy this. Here's what happened..."
Luo-Qing eagerly recounted the events of the evening's party, including how she had intentionally misnad Fu-Zheng as Zheng-Fu, and the quarrel between two leaders that Zheng-Fu was involved in, which had left the veiled woman feeling uneasy. However, the last detail Luo-Qing ntioned caused a noticeable change in her sister's expression.
"Elder Sister, what do you think? Isn't it interesting?" Luo-Qing asked, carefully observing her sister's reactions. She noticed that while her sister had initially seed indifferent, today she was paying much closer attention.
"Mhm... It's really interesting. That person always acts like... er..." The veiled woman paused, covering her mouth, realizing she had said sothing revealing.
"Could it really be? My instincts tell that this young man is the sa Zheng-Fu you've always loved and missed," Luo-Qing said confidently, though she didn't know where her certainty ca from.
"Impossible! Because now he's..."
"Beside you, Qi-Er!"
Ah!!!
Suddenly, a familiar voice echoed in the veiled woman's ear. Her entire body trembled, as though a tidal wave had crashed into her. Tears began streaming from her eyes as she thought she was dreaming.
"Am I hearing his voice because I've been thinking of him so much?" she wondered, looking up to ask Luo-Qing, who was sitting across from her. But then, she noticed Luo-Qing's frozen expression, staring at her.
"It's not just in your head, my dear wife. I, Zheng-Fu, have co to see you," the sa voice sounded again, this ti clearer and more real. The veiled woman realized she wasn't imagining things. Slowly, she turned to look behind her.
Flap!!!
Ah!!!
When she turned, she saw a handso man with long hair and a tall figure standing there, smiling warmly at her. It was Zheng-Fu. He had been there for a while, listening to everything Luo-Qing had said.
Zheng-Fu understood that Luo-Qing had been suspicious of him all along and had even pretended to misna him on purpose. But seeing this mont unfold, Zheng-Fu realized that Luo-Qing was close to his wife and had sensed sothing familiar between them.
"Zhe... Zheng... Zheng-Fu!"
Qi-Fu-Er exclaid, tears flowing uncontrollably. She ran toward him, not caring whether the man in front of her was truly Zheng-Fu or not.
"Qi-Er!"
Zheng-Fu responded, opening his arms wide to embrace her as she rushed into his arms.
Qi-Fu-Er collapsed into his embrace, her body close to his. The warmth they had once shared, the touch of their bodies, and all the mories of happiness they had together flowed through them again.
"Finally, you're here! Mmm-hmm! Mmm-hmm! Do you know how much I've missed you? Do you know that...!"
Before she could finish, Zheng-Fu pressed his lips to hers, causing her to beco weak and barely able to stand. This kiss erased all the anger and pain in her heart that had built up over ti, leaving no trace behind.
Qi-Luo-Qing, who had been standing and watching, was left stunned and speechless. She had never expected such a reunion to happen. Seeing her sister's lover appear so suddenly had caught her completely off guard. But as she looked at the two of them, her heart swelled with warmth, and she felt like crying, because she also wanted her elder sister to be freed from this suffering.
However, she couldn't help but wonder where Zheng-Fu ca from and how he managed to be here without the two elders being able to detect his presence.
"Stupid girl, I told you I'd co to you no matter what happened," Zheng-Fu said, gently stroking Qi-Fu-Er's head.
"I'm not a girl anymore. I'm over a hundred years old. You're the child!" she retorted with a slight pout.
"That was just a taphor. I wasn't talking about your real age. So, even though I'm younger, do you still love ?" Zheng-Fu teased.
"I... I... I..."
She stamred, embarrassed by the question. But just then, Zheng-Fu's expression changed. He sensed the two elder monsters approaching.
Although he wasn't afraid of them, he didn't want to cause trouble for his wife. He now knew she was here and could return anyti.
"Looks like those two old n are heading this way. I'll co back tomorrow to hear your answer."
He kissed her again.
Ah!!!
"Zheng-Fu!!!"
