"You're not dreaming, Deity Dragreeper!" Zheng-Fu's tone was filled with satisfaction because the last ti he had encountered the spirit of this dragon, he almost had been killed. If not for his quick thinking and persuasive words, he would have died. So, at this mont, Zheng-Fu thought of taking a little revenge on the Aquatic Dragon.

"No!!!!!"

The Aquatic Dragon was so furious that it wanted to cry. Since it had already decided to commit to Zheng-Fu, it had no choice but to obey him. Whether Zheng-Fu needed energy or gave an order, the dragon had to comply. Although the energy in the dragon's spirit wasn't much, it was enough to allow Zheng-Fu to defeat the monster demon without any problems.

"But you don't need to worry, Deity Dragreeper, because I always keep my promises. If I et your enemies, I'll kill them to avenge the fire in your heart!" Although Zheng-Fu showed disrespect toward the Aquatic Dragon, he had no intention of breaking the promise he had made.

When the Aquatic Dragon heard that, the regret it had felt earlier finally subsided. The way Zheng-Fu had spoken to it was secondary; what mattered most was the promise of vengeance.

As Zheng-Fu reaffird his intention to take revenge, the Aquatic Dragon cald down and replied, "Hmph! I hope you don't break your promise. Since you still rember the vow we made, I'll give you my energy to fight this low-class monster demon!" The Aquatic Dragon spoke with an arrogant tone, but that ant...

"Oh!!!"

Zheng-Fu was slightly surprised to see the Aquatic Dragon calm down so quickly. But when he considered how old and experienced the dragon was, he discarded those thoughts and said, "Of course, I made a promise, so I must keep it. Now, I need to borrow your energy to defeat this monster demon. If what you say is true, show that imnse power!"

Zheng-Fu playfully teased the Aquatic Dragon, hoping to motivate it to give him even more strength. Normally, a weapon only enhanced a cultivator's power by one level. However, with a weapon inhabited by a powerful spirit like this, the energy boost would be doubled.

"Are you trying to insult ?" The Aquatic Dragon was offended again by Zheng-Fu's seemingly dismissive words and imdiately released all its energy into Zheng-Fu's body.

"Yaaaaa!!!"

Woooooosh!!!

A powerful wave of water elental energy surged from the Aquatic Dragon sword in Zheng-Fu's hand, flowing wildly into his energy realm. Despite its intensity, the energy was incredibly pure, and Zheng-Fu could sense that it was all Heaven Energy.

"Booooooom!!!"

The ninth level of the Divine Emperor stage!!!

At that mont, an explosion of energy within Zheng-Fu's body signaled his breakthrough to the next level. He had been at the interdiate eighth level of the Divine Emperor stage, but after absorbing the Aquatic Dragon's energy, he instantly advanced to the ninth level.

This breakthrough wasn't just due to the energy transfer; it ca from his newfound understanding of Heaven Energy, gained through the Aquatic Dragon. The energy waves within Zheng-Fu's energy realm beca so purified and dense that they allowed him to advance to the next level.

'I never imagined that the awareness of Heaven Energy from this Dragreeper would purify my energy, helping reach the ninth level of the Divine Emperor stage. Now, my energy is almost indistinguishable from that of a true Divine King stage martial master, and I still have the energy the Aquatic Dragon lent . Hehehe!'

Zheng-Fu thought joyfully to himself, pleased with his breakthrough. Even the Monster King had a montary look of shock, as he hadn't expected Zheng-Fu to break through at such a critical ti.

Even though he knew that Zheng-Fu was not yet a true Divine King stage martial master, his son-in-law's power was no less than that of a Divine King. Now that Zheng-Fu's energy level had advanced another step, the Monster King wondered just how much stronger he had beco.

Roaaar!

Even the monster demon could sense that the situation had changed. It could feel the dangerous aura emanating from Zheng-Fu and refused to let what it feared co to pass. It imdiately charged toward Zheng-Fu with its massive body.

"This is bad!!! Son-in-law, be careful!" The Monster King was alard when he saw the monster demon rushing at Zheng-Fu. He shouted and dashed forward to block the attack, knowing that those who had just advanced a level needed ti to adjust their energy balance.

[World-Defeating Monster Sword Skill: First Stance; Never-Surrender Monster]

Wooooosh!!!

Terrifying energy waves surged from the Monster King's attack. His skill was so powerful that the ground trembled for a thousand lis around them. This was a Legendary Skill, one of only two remaining on the continent.

One skill belonged to the Monster Tribe, and the other to the Demon Tribe. These two Legendary Skills maintained the balance of power between the two tribes. If either race gained an additional Legendary Skill or another Divine King stage martial master, the balance would imdiately shift.

Roaaar!

The monster demon, seeing the King use such a powerful skill, opened its mouth wide and unleashed a beam of light to counter the King's energy wave.

Woooooosh!!!

Booooooom!!!

The resulting explosion was deafening, shaking the surrounding area and scattering the trees, leaving a wide open space. The clash of energy was so intense that many of the martial masters and people in the city coughed up blood. Only the clan leaders watching from the city walls managed to protect themselves by using their energy to form barriers.

On Huang-Di City's walls...

"What terrifying energy! If it had been any closer, I would have been injured!" said the Lightning Bird Clan Leader, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

"As expected of our King. But who is that young man? He doesn't seem like he's from our Monster Tribe. He looks more like... a human," the Iron Fortress Clan Leader said, admiring the King but expressing doubt about the young man's identity when he noticed that the young man looked nothing like a person from the Monster Tribe.

"A human!?"

"That's not possible. Our Monster Tribe shares many similarities with humans. So mbers even look entirely human. That young man might just have a bloodline that closely resembles humans," the Monster Liquor Clan Leader argued, dismissing the idea that the young man was human because, in the Monster Tribe, there was this kind of people, the kind that looked exactly like humans.

"No matter who he is, given how close he is to the King, he must be an important figure, perhaps even a royal relative," said the Enchanted Monster Tavern Leader, an excited smile playing on his lips.

"That must be true. He must be an important person," Wen-Xi agreed, noticing the Tavern Leader's strange expression. He suspected the middle-aged man knew sothing otherwise, he wouldn't have made such a face.

After these leaders finished speaking, the others remained silent, focusing on the ongoing battle because every second was important. Watching the King fight like this was a rare opportunity, as the Monster Kingdom had never been in such danger before.

Back to the battle...

Roaaar!

The monster demon roared furiously after being hit by the King's sword wave, retreating several steps and suffering an injury to its arm.

The King, however, wasn't badly affected, as his sword skill was much stronger than the demon's beam of light. Still, using this skill had cost the King three parts of his energy, and it hadn't seriously injured the demon.

"This monster demon is incredibly strong. If I don't give it my all, I might die here. As for my son-in-law, he just leveled up, and I'm not sure when he'll—"

Wooooosh!!!

While the King was still murmuring, he felt a dense and powerful energy wave emanating from Zheng-Fu. A mont later, Zheng-Fu opened his eyes, a smile forming on his lips before saying,

"Father-in-law, I apologize for making you wait," Zheng-Fu said as he raised his Aquatic Dragon sword, releasing a powerful aura that combined with the dragon's energy.

Grrrr!!!

Just raising the sword, the dragon's roar rang loudly, making the ground tremble for five hundred lis. Though it was only five hundred lis, the martial masters in the area thousands of lis away could also perceive this imnse energy.

Roaaar!

The monster demon let out a low, angry roar, sensing that the young man before it was like a grim reaper coming to drag it to the underworld. Yet, it refused to give up. It opened its mouth, preparing to unleash another beam of light.

"Ah!!!"

Wooooosh!!!

Zing!!!

The beam that the monster demon fired this ti was twice as powerful as the one it had previously used to clash with the Monster King's sword skill. Wherever this beam passed, the ground and any obstacles in its path were completely destroyed.

"Son-in-law, are you confident you can handle that attack?" The Monster King knew how dangerous the beam was and asked if Zheng-Fu wanted his help.

"You can trust , Father-in-law!" Zheng-Fu replied confidently, standing tall.

"Then be careful! I don't want my daughter to be heartbroken again!" Even though the Monster King trusted Zheng-Fu's skills, he couldn't help but worry about him—and his daughter. So, if Zheng-Fu showed that he couldn't handle it, he would instantly help him.

"Yes, sir, Father-in-law!"
