Enmu’s smug grin faltered for a split second as I stepped into view. "So, you finally show yourself," he hissed, his voice dripping with venom. "You’re the one Lady Muzanette fears. The one who dares to challenge her control."
I raised an eyebrow at his words, feigning ignorance. "Lady Muzanette? Oh, you must an the one sending you lot to your deaths. How’s that working out for her so far?"
His confidence wavered, and the corners of his mouth twitched with irritation. "You think you’re clever, don’t you?" he sneered. "But you’re nothing more than a pest in her grand design."
I let out a chuckle, keeping my tone casual yet sharp. "If I’m a pest, what does that make you? A glorified slug hitching a ride on this train, pretending to be important?"
Beside , Mitsuri stifled a laugh, her cheerful deanor peeking through even in the heat of the mont. My teasing seed to calm her nerves, and I could feel her resolve steadying as she tightened her grip on her sword.
Enmu’s face twisted in rage. "You dare mock ?! I’ll kill you and everyone you care about!" His voice rose into a screech as the train itself groaned and twisted unnaturally. The windows shattered, and the tal walls seed to ripple as though alive.
Then, the transformation began.
The train itself warped grotesquely, fusing with Enmu’s body. Flesh lded into steel, and the compartnts turned into pulsating veins as the demon beca one with his vessel. It was like watching a nightmare unfold in real ti.
"I’ll kill every last person on this train," Enmu growled, his voice now echoing from all directions. "Let’s see if you Demon Slayers can save them all!"
I sighed, feeling the weight of his arrogance more than his threat. "Typical demon theatrics," I muttered. "Always so dramatic."
Mitsuri turned to , her expression determined but tinged with concern. "Alex-san, what’s the plan? There are so many passengers to protect!"
I gave her a reassuring nod. "You focus on keeping the passengers safe. Leave the demon to ."
Her eyes widened slightly in surprise but quickly shifted to a trusting smile. "Understood!"
With that, she dashed off to the nearest compartnt, ready to defend the innocent. I turned my attention back to the pulsating walls of the train—Enmu’s grotesque body. His laughter echoed around , mocking and filled with malice.
"You really think you can handle alone?" he taunted, his voice seeming to co from every corner.
I ignored his words and raised my hand, focusing my energy. If he wanted a spectacle, I’d give him one. A crimson magic circle ford beneath my feet, glowing ominously as I chanted a summoning incantation.
"Rise, my blades in the dark," I intoned, my voice steady and commanding. "Serve and cut down those who oppose."
From the circle erged several figures—vampires clad in dark, sleek armor. Their crimson eyes glowed with an unholy light, their movents precise and silent. They weren’t individuals with minds of their own, rely extensions of my will. Perfect soldiers for a situation like this.
Enmu’s laughter faltered for a mont as the vampires materialized, their presence exuding an aura of cold nace. "What... what are those things?" he hissed, his confidence beginning to crack.
I smirked. "You’ve fused with a train and still don’t understand the basics? Let give you a lesson in superiority."
I pointed toward the pulsating walls of flesh and tal. "Attack the train," I commanded.
The vampires moved as one, their speed inhuman as they launched themselves at Enmu’s body with their dark mana. Their claws and fangs tore into the grotesque structure, ripping apart the demon’s flesh with brutal efficiency. Enmu’s screams of pain echoed through the train, his confidence replaced by panic.
"You think your toys can defeat ?!" he roared, the train lurching violently as he tried to shake off my summons.
The passengers scread as the compartnts swayed dangerously, but I held my ground, my gaze unwavering. "Toys?" I echoed, my tone mocking. "These are precision instrunts. And you’re just another obstacle for them to break. So of you go assist Mitsuri."
Enmu retaliated, forming grotesque tendrils from the walls to strike at the vampires. But my summons were relentless, dodging and countering with precision. Each strike they landed caused Enmu’s screams to grow louder, his form weakening with every passing mont.
I kept a watchful eye on Mitsuri as she darted between compartnts, protecting passengers from falling debris and attacking tendrils. Her movents were graceful yet powerful, a testant to her strength as a Hashira. She was holding her own, even against the chaos Enmu was unleashing.
"Impressive," I murmured, watching her deflect a massive tendril with a single swing of her sword. "But I need to end this before things get worse."
I raised my hand again, channeling more energy into the summoning circle. "Increase your output," I commanded the vampires, their movents becoming even more ferocious.
"[Holy Blind]" I chanted.
"You... you can’t do this!" Enmu’s voice was filled with desperation now. "Lady Muzanette will—"
I cut him off with a laugh. "Lady Muzanette this, Lady Muzanette that. Do all of you demons have the sa script? Pathetic."
With a final command, the vampires struck a coordinated blow, tearing through the core of Enmu’s body. The train lurched one last ti before coming to a screeching halt. The grotesque flesh began to dissolve, reverting to cold steel as the demon’s influence faded.
Enmu’s voice grew weaker, his laughter now nothing more than a hollow whisper. "This isn’t... over..."
"Yes, it is," I said, stepping forward. I summoned a blade of crimson energy into my hand and drove it into the remaining remnants of his form. His body disintegrated into ash, his screams fading into nothingness.
The train was silent once more.
I dismissed the vampires with a wave of my hand, their forms vanishing as quickly as they had appeared. Turning toward Mitsuri, I saw her standing in the doorway of the nearest compartnt, a relieved smile on her face.
"You did it, Alex-san!" she called out, her voice filled with admiration.
I shrugged, walking toward her. "He was all talk. Just like the rest of them."
She bead at , her energy contagious. "Still, you were amazing! And those summons of yours... I’ve never seen anything like them."
I chuckled. "They’re handy, that’s for sure."
