Returning to the room, I found Mitsuri still sound asleep. She looked peaceful, her breathing soft and even, but I couldn’t ignore the fact that we had already been gone for hours. Since we left without notifying anyone, it was likely the Demon Slayer Corps was in a state of panic.
Shalltear had reassured earlier that Yuki was at the Corps headquarters explaining the situation—particularly the giant pillar of light that marked the Eternal Darkness spell. Still, it wouldn’t be right to keep Mitsuri away any longer.
Walking over to her side of the bed, I called softly, "Mitsuri, wake up. We need to get back."
The artificial sky on the sixth floor, designed to mirror the natural progression of day and night, showed it was already nightti. Of course, in Mitsuri’s original world, the timing could be entirely different. But that wasn’t what concerned . I had responsibilities, and leaving Yuki to shoulder everything wasn’t fair.
Mitsuri stirred slightly, letting out a soft murmur before pulling the sheets closer around herself. Then, to my surprise, she reached out, grabbed my wrist, and tugged onto the bed.
Her arms wrapped around as she nestled closer. "Five more minutes," she murmured sleepily, her voice muffled against my chest.
I sighed, though I couldn’t help but smile. Her warmth and the way she clung to made it tempting to grant her request. Her hair was a ss from our earlier activities, but it only added to her charm. Still, ti wasn’t on our side.
"Mitsuri," I said gently, brushing a strand of pink-and-green hair from her face. "I’m serious. Everyone in your world is probably worried sick by now."
Her eyes fluttered open just a crack, revealing the soft glow of her green irises. She looked up at with a pout. "But I’m so comfortable... Can’t we stay just a little longer?"
"Comfortable enough to risk the Corps sending soone after you?" I teased lightly, trying to coax her into seeing reason. "Imagine how they’ll react if they think you’ve been kidnapped."
Her expression shifted slightly, a mixture of reluctance and guilt. She groaned, burying her face in my chest for a mont before sighing. "You’re right. I didn’t an to worry anyone... But it’s so nice here. It feels like a dream."
I chuckled, placing a hand on her back. "I can bring you back here anyti you want, but right now, we need to head back."
Reluctantly, Mitsuri sat up, the sheets slipping down to reveal her shoulders. She stretched, yawning adorably as she tried to shake off the last remnants of sleep.
"You’re really sothing, Alex-san," she said, looking at with a smile that was equal parts fondness and exhaustion. "No one’s ever treated like this before."
I raised an eyebrow. "What do you an?"
She fiddled with the edge of the sheet, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. "I’ve always been afraid that I was... too much. Too strong, too loud, too hungry." She glanced up at shyly. "But you don’t seem to mind any of that. You make feel like I’m just right."
Her honesty caught off guard, and for a mont, I was at a loss for words. I reached out, placing a hand gently on her cheek. "Mitsuri, you’re perfect just the way you are. Don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise."
Her eyes glistened slightly, and she nodded, her smile widening. "Thank you, Alex-san."
We shared a mont of silence before I stood and extended a hand to her. "Co on, let’s get you dressed. I’ll teleport us back to your world."
She took my hand, letting help her out of bed. As we prepared to leave, I couldn’t help but notice the way she glanced around the room, as if committing every detail to mory. The sixth floor of Nazarick, with its serene atmosphere and magical beauty, had clearly left an impression on her.
Once she was ready, I activated a Gate spell, the shimring portal appearing before us. Mitsuri hesitated for a mont, looking back at .
"You’ll always be with , right?"
I smiled, stepping through the gate first. "Of course. You are my lover, Mitsuri, which ans you are mine."
With that reassurance, she followed through the portal, leaving the sixth floor behind. As we erged on the other side, the familiar sight of the Butterfly Mansion greeted us.
