Steam curled around us, the warm water lapping gently at the edges of the grand bath. The scent of exotic oils lingered in the air, mixing with the faint traces of sweat and passion. Albedo rested against , her head nestled against my shoulder, her fingers idly tracing circles across my chest. She looked utterly content, her golden eyes half-lidded with satisfaction.
I leaned back against the edge of the bath, letting the warmth seep into my muscles. "You seem rather clingy tonight," I mused, smirking as I glanced down at her.
Albedo let out a soft hum, her lips curling into a pleased smile. "Can you bla , my Lord? After waiting for so long, I finally got to—" She stopped herself, biting her lower lip as if savoring the mory.
I chuckled. "You really are hopeless."
She tilted her head, gazing up at . "Hopelessly in love with you," she corrected.
I shook my head in amusent before shifting the conversation. "Enough about that. Tell about the sacred gear Demiurge has been working on. How much progress has he made?"
Albedo straightened slightly, her expression becoming more serious, though her fingers never stopped moving against my skin. "Demiurge has successfully created one sacred gear that ets his expectations. You’ve already seen it—Eternal Damnation."
I nodded. Eternal Damnation was Demiurge’s personal creation, crafted through his ticulous research and infused with his sadistic ingenuity. It was a brutal artifact, designed for absolute control and tornt, fitting for his nature.
"But what about the others?" I asked. "Surely he hasn’t stopped at just one."
Albedo sighed, shifting closer, her damp hair brushing against my skin. "Demiurge has created more, using the blood of the other Guardians as a base for their unique property. But that’s it; he couldn’t make a breakthrough, and Demiurge admits that there are barriers he cannot yet break through."
I frowned slightly. "What kind of barriers?"
She sighed, her fingers montarily stopping their movents against my chest. "According to Demiurge, the primary issue is a lack of suitable test subjects. While he has conducted nurous experints, his progress is hindered because you have only allowed him a single human subject—Freed. And while he has made considerable progress using Freed, his... durability is reaching its limit."
A small smirk played at my lips. "You an to say Demiurge has used him so thoroughly that he’s no longer useful?"
Albedo nodded without hesitation. "Yes. Freed has survived countless experints, but even he has limits. Demiurge has done all he can with just one subject. If he is to make true breakthroughs, he requires more test subjects to refine his creations."
I leaned my head back, letting my thoughts drift. Demiurge was one of the most brilliant minds in Nazarick; his strategic genius was nearly unmatched. If he said he needed more resources, then there was no doubt he truly required them.
"I’m heading to a new world soon," I mused, watching as ripples ford on the water’s surface. "Perhaps I should let Demiurge accompany . He can collect test subjects for his experints while we’re there."
Of course, I only allow him to take criminals highest degree.
Albedo’s eyes glowed with intrigue. "That would be wise, my Lord. With fresh test subjects, Demiurge could refine his sacred gear research at a much faster rate. The sooner he perfects his thods, the sooner we can mass-produce powerful artifacts for Nazarick’s use."
Albedo’s expression shifted into one of approval. "That is a brilliant decision, my lord. Demiurge would certainly be delighted by the opportunity to expand his research in a new environnt."
I smirked. "I’m sure he would. It would be beneficial for Nazarick in the long run as well. If we can fully understand the chanics of Sacred Gears and even create them at will, it would provide us with an overwhelming advantage."
Albedo’s fingers resud their slow tracing over my skin. "Shall I inform Demiurge of your decision?"
"Not yet," I said. "I’ll speak with him personally. I want to hear his thoughts and see how prepared he is."
She gave a satisfied nod. "As expected of you, my lord. You always think several steps ahead."
Albedo’s fingers traced slow, idle patterns against my chest, her golden eyes glowing with intrigue as she tilted her head slightly. "If I may ask, my lord, what kind of world are we venturing into next?"
I exhaled, letting my head tilt back against the smooth stone of the bath’s edge. "It’s a world adapted to Yggdrasil’s magic system. The very foundation of its power structure aligns with our own. That alone makes it far more promising than the previous one."
Albedo’s gaze sharpened with curiosity. "A world compatible with Yggdrasil’s magic? Then..." She paused, her expression unreadable for a mont before she spoke again. "Does that an there’s a possibility of encountering other superior beings?"
I turned my head slightly, eting her gaze without speaking. The warm bathwater lapped against us, the silence stretching just long enough for tension to build. Albedo’s golden eyes remained locked onto mine, searching for an answer.
Finally, I responded. "It’s not impossible."
For the briefest mont, her eyes narrowed dangerously, a flicker of sothing dark passing through them. But just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone, replaced by her usual composed expression. The shift was subtle—almost imperceptible—but I caught it nonetheless.
I let out a quietchuckle. "Are you planning to prepare a search party?"
Albedo stiffened slightly at my words, though she did not imdiately respond. I continued, my tone laced with amusent. "Let guess... You intend to seek them out and eliminate them before they can beco a threat to my throne. And, if possible, you’d want to find and erase the one who created you."
At that, Albedo’s breath hitched. She hesitated for a fraction of a second before quickly slipping out of my grasp, kneeling before in the water with her head lowered. "Forgive , my Lord. I—"
I sighed, reaching down and gently grasping her chin, lifting her face to et mine. "Stand, Albedo."
She obeyed imdiately, though her posture remained tense. Her devotion, her possessiveness—it was sothing that defined her, but it also made her predictable to . I could see every move she would make long before she even thought to act.
"You don’t need to apologize," I said, my tone firm yet understanding. "Your loyalty is absolute. That much, I have never doubted."
Albedo’s lips parted slightly as if to speak, but she remained silent, waiting for my next words.
I smirked. "And besides... all the other Supre Beings are dead."
She blinked, her expression unreadable for a mont before a slow, satisfied smile curled at her lips. "Then there is no one left to challenge your rule."
"Precisely," I said, leaning back against the edge of the bath once more. "So there is no need to waste resources hunting for ghosts."
Albedo let out a pleased hum before settling beside once again, her fingers resuming their slow trace across my skin. "Of course, my Lord. You are the only one who matters."
