On Wednesday afternoon, Yan Feifan received a definite update on the complaint from Mr. Huang.

During the disability assessnt, it was confird that he had lied. While his reimplanted left thumb was capable of flexion and extension, Mr. Huang claid that the nerve pain in his thumb was so severe that he genuinely didn't dare to move it.

The officials from the Health Commission solemnly warned him that if it was ultimately proven he was lying, his actions would constitute extortion.

The compensation he was demanding was enough to land him in prison for several years.

Under imnse pressure, Mr. Huang finally confessed.

He had lied.

The accident was a result of his own carelessness.

The family he had been working for refused to cover his dical expenses.

This ant he had to shoulder the entire dical bill himself, which basically ant he had worked all year for nothing.

Unreconciled to this, he had a mont of folly and was egged on by soone from his hotown. Figuring the hospital was wealthy and would be afraid of a public disturbance, he decided to try and swindle a large sum.

With Mr. Huang's confession, the Health Commission closed its investigation into the matter.

However, Yan Feifan also heard so bad news.

Mrs. Yu had indeed violated the hospital's regulations on surgical-grade managent, and the hospital's disciplinary committee would likely reprimand her.

Yan Feifan made a point to ask Mr. Liu about it.

Mr. Liu told him that the reprimand was unavoidable.

Since the matter had been escalated to the Health Commission, the hospital could no longer turn a blind eye and had to take so action.

However, it would only be a slap on the wrist and wouldn't have any real, lasting impact on Mrs. Yu…

On Thursday morning, national badminton player Guo Fan was discharged from the hospital.

He made a point of finding Yan Feifan to express his gratitude.

Guo Fan explained that although he would have to wait until he resud training to truly test the effects of the treatnt, he could already feel a palpable sense of relief.

All the hidden aches and pains throughout his body had vanished, leaving only a clean, distinct pain behind.

He was confident he would achieve even better results in next year's competitions.

Guo Fan also promised that if he won another championship at a major tournant next year, he would give the dal to Yan Feifan.

This actually made Yan Feifan quite excited.

He had always wanted to know if the gold and silver dals awarded at major tournants were actually made of high-purity, solid gold and silver.

At nearly five o'clock on Thursday afternoon, Yan Feifan went to Inpatient Building Six once more to perform a puncture biopsy on the tumor for Liou Ming, the patient with the intraspinal tumor.

Around seven that evening, after finishing his tests and analysis, Yan Feifan was just leaving the neurosurgery departnt to head ho when soone called out to him.

He stopped and turned toward the voice to see a mature, elegant, long-haired beauty walking toward him with exceptional grace.

Ouyang Yanran!

Seeing her, Yan Feifan imdiately thought of her captivating best friend and couldn't help but ask, "Ms. Ouyang, is your friend doing all right?"

A flicker of awkwardness crossed Ouyang Yanran's face. "She's doing quite well, actually," she said. "She's traveling abroad to clear her head."

"Regarding that incident... I still haven't had the chance to thank you in person, Mr. Yan."

As she said this, Ouyang Yanran gave a slight bow. "Mr. Yan, thank you for stepping forward when you did…"

Yan Feifan quickly replied, "Ms. Ouyang, you're too kind. I'm a doctor; I have both a responsibility and a duty to intervene."

He then asked, "Are you here to see Mr. Wang?"

Ouyang Yanran shook her head and gave him a smile as warm as a spring day. "Mr. Yan, I ca here specifically to see you."

"To see ?" Yan Feifan was a bit surprised.

Ouyang Yanran humd in affirmation, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Yes, you. I have sothing very important to discuss with you!"

After a brief pause, she asked, "Mr. Yan, you haven't eaten dinner yet, have you? I know a place that serves pretty decent food."

"Why don't we go there and talk while we eat?"

Yan Feifan quickly declined. "I have a major surgery tomorrow, and I still need to further refine the surgical plan."

"Ms. Ouyang, if it's sothing simple, we can discuss it here. If it's complicated, we should schedule another ti!"

Ouyang Yanran considered this for a mont, then said, "Alright, Mr. Yan, I'll give you the gist of it here."

"As it happens, this is sowhat related to your surgery tomorrow."

After a pause, she asked, "Mr. Yan, you're certainly no stranger to intelligent surgical robots, are you?"

Yan Feifan nodded. "Of course not."

"Our hospital's cardiac surgery and urology departnts have surgical robots. Their utilization rate is quite high, and the surgical outcos are rather good."

Ouyang Yanran explained, "Surgical robots are a major trend in the future of dicine, and they're also considered a branch of current developnts in intelligent technology."

"There are currently two main directions for its developnt. One is micro-surgical robots—the kind that can operate inside the human body."

"The other is large-scale surgical robots, which can perform operations in place of a surgeon, or do so via remote control under the guidance of a surgical specialist."

Ouyang Yanran added, "Mr. Yan, our Baiyulan Group is also involved in the research and developnt of surgical robots at the mont."

"Our R&D is focused on large-scale surgical robots."

Yan Feifan gave a soft "Oh," and said with so confusion, "Your group developing surgical robots doesn't seem to have anything to do with , does it?"

Ouyang Yanran broke into a captivating smile. "Oh, Mr. Yan, don't be so hasty. It's about to have everything to do with you!"

"I looked into the anhydrous ethanol Puncture Injection Skill you perford for Mr. Pan on Sunday…"

"I learned that it has incredibly demanding requirents for the puncture location and depth, as well as for the injection dosage."

"At present, it seems you're the only doctor who can actually do it…"

Ouyang Yanran's face took on an expression of awe and admiration. "To be honest, Mr. Yan," she said with a sigh, "I thought I was already overestimating you."

"But as it turns out, I still severely underestimated you…"

Seeing that she was still beating around the bush, Yan Feifan cut her off. "Ms. Ouyang, please get to the point."

Far from showing any hint of displeasure at being interrupted, Ouyang Yanran's smile blood like a flower. "Mr. Yan, a puncture injection surgery that requires high precision, three-dinsional positioning, and strict dosage standards… isn't that just tailor-made for a surgical robot?"

Yan Feifan was taken aback for a mont.

He thought about it and realized she was right.

Compared to a living, breathing surgeon, a surgical robot would strictly follow a pre-set program. Its margin of error would be practically negligible.

At the sa ti, Yan Feifan also understood her reason for being here.

'They say businesspeople have the sharpest instincts,' he thought. 'It's really true.'

He had never even considered this, but Ouyang Yanran had already envisioned the perfect application for his puncture technique.

"Ms. Ouyang, are you proposing…?"

Ouyang Yanran nodded emphatically, her voice laced with excitent. "An intelligent design for this puncture surgery would require a data model for support."

"And you, Mr. Yan, are currently the only surgeon who can perform this kind of operation."

"How about we collaborate?"

"That way, your Puncture Injection Skill can be rolled out via the most advanced intelligent surgical robots, benefiting many more patients like Mr. Pan!"

Ouyang Yanran asked expectantly, "What do you say, Mr. Yan?"

She quickly added, "Of course, the specific details and conditions of our collaboration would need to be discussed in detail. We can start by establishing an intent to cooperate and a basic frawork."
