Now reading: Chapter 30: A Flying Knife Invitation from Overpowered Resident Doctor, a Drama novel by Chen Family's 3rd Son.

Facing this blatant provocation, which was simply intolerable, the furious Chen Yu imdiately accepted the challenge.

She even declared magnanimously that she wouldn’t use her seniority to bully them.

Whatever Yan Feifan and Yu Suye’s professional ranks were, she would send out students of the sa rank to compete.

As for the ti and content of the competition, she let Qin Ying’s side decide, accepting all terms.

Qin Ying let out two cold laughs, then turned and left with Yan Feifan and Yu Suye.

Yan Feifan was completely bewildered as to why his new teacher would pull such a stunt.

After leaving the trauma surgery building, Qin Ying looked up at the relatively bright sun and said, "It’s lunchti. That’s all for today."

"We’ll et in the new office tomorrow morning."

With that, Qin Ying headed toward the hospital’s east gate.

Yan Feifan thought for a mont but ultimately decided not to follow her. Instead, he called Director Qee Sheng and gave him a brief rundown of the situation.

Just as he finished speaking, he heard Qee Sheng sigh lightly through the phone. "Dr. Chen Yu and your teacher were once known as the ’Twin Prodigies’."

"But in the dical field, people only rember the best one. Who pays attention to second place?"

"Your teacher was always just a cut above, and Dr. Chen Yu has never been able to accept it."

"The two of them competed back and forth, so their relationship isn’t the best."

"However..."

Qee Sheng chuckled again. "After your teacher’s accident, Dr. Chen Yu ran every red light to get to City First Hospital as fast as she could to perform the reattachnt surgery on her severed finger."

"Those two..."

After another chuckle, Qee Sheng reminded him, "Xiaoyan, you two young ones had better be careful."

"Neither of them is easy to deal with. If you two don’t perform well in the competition, you’re going to be in for it..."

Yan Feifan put away his phone and noticed Yu Suye, who had sidled over to eavesdrop, quickly take a step back and pretend nothing was wrong.

He didn’t call her out on it and simply invited her, "It’s lunchti. Want to go to the cafeteria together?"

Yu Suye shook her head. "I bought a small apartnt at Shengjing Apartnts, not far from the hospital, but I haven’t finished unpacking yet."

"I should hurry over and get it organized while I have the ti."

"See you tomorrow..."

Watching Yu Suye’s retreating figure, Yan Feifan couldn’t help but mutter, ’She’s loaded.’

’She didn’t rent, she just casually bought a place...’

He arrived at the first staff cafeteria and saw his sister had already gotten their food and was waiting for him.

"Braised pork ribs, lion’s head atballs, stead egg with shrimp, lamb hot pot..."

Seeing such a lavish spread, Yan Feifan couldn’t help but ask, "Sis, are you trying to bankrupt us?"

Yan Ziruo giggled. "My little brother was a great hero today and saved a life, so of course, I have to treat him well."

Yan Feifan took a bite of lamb and asked for confirmation, "Sis, they saved him?"

Yan Ziruo humd in affirmation, her voice filled with excitent. "It’s already being reported online."

"They said that after all-out rescue efforts at Ren’ai Hospital, the man’s heartbeat and consciousness have been restored, but he still needs follow-up treatnt."

Yan Feifan was well aware of the need for follow-up treatnt.

Cardiac arrest indicated that the heart had sustained major damage.

Moreover, CPR has its limits in restoring blood and oxygen supply throughout the body.

There was also a chance of damage to the brain, nervous system, and internal organs.

’The follow-up treatnt will be a long and arduous road...’

"Feifan, look! Several videos of us rescuing that man have popped up online..."

Yan Feifan took the phone from his sister and scrolled through it.

He found no fewer than five videos, so of which showed him performing CPR.

He also noticed that the video of Yan Ziruo shouting encouragent for the patient had received the most comnts and likes.

"Sis, it looks like you’re even more famous than I am!"

Yan Ziruo took back the phone with a grin and said, "At the ti, I was just thinking that if my crying could wake you up from a deep coma..."

"...then maybe that man could also sense what was happening outside, so I couldn’t help but start shouting..."

Just then, Yan Feifan’s phone rang.

He saw it was a call from Mr. Liu and answered it.

"Feifan, I just got a call from the city’s TV station. They want to co and interview you and your sister about your heroic rescue this morning."

Yan Feifan instinctively tried to decline. "Teacher, is that really necessary?"

"Any dical professional would have stepped up in that situation."

Liu Jin laughed over the phone. "In this incident, Feifan, you, as a doctor, stepped up at the first possible mont."

"The driver and the bus company also took ergency asures."

"A whole bus full of passengers cooperated selflessly, cheering for the patient, not to ntion the coordination of the traffic police, the traffic radio, and Ren’ai Hospital."

"And in the end, the man was saved."

"This incident fully demonstrates the unity, friendship, and mutual aid of our great social family, putting human life first."

"This news report has significant social value. You’re just one part of it, so don’t refuse. Just cooperate."

"Besides, it’s also a chance to promote our hospital..."

After lunch, Yan Feifan first paid a visit to the neurosurgery departnt.

He was delighted to learn that the man he had helped rescue had woken up that morning.

The current brain injury assessnt showed only so numbness and dulled sensation in the left half of his body.

This was a fairly good outco.

With follow-up treatnt and rest, the numbness and dulled sensation in his left side would certainly improve.

It was even possible for the symptoms to disappear completely.

At one-thirty in the afternoon, the Yan siblings went to the hospital’s main administration building and waited for the city TV station’s news van.

To Yan Feifan’s surprise, the reporter who ca for the interview was Xiao Man.

Seeing her full of energy and enthusiastically discussing the shoot with her colleagues, Yan Feifan didn’t say anything unnecessary.

During the subsequent interview, facing the cara, Yan Feifan answered so professional questions about the diagnosis and rescue, posed for a few shots of him examining a patient, and then he was done.

Yan Ziruo, on the other hand, was fild for a good ten-plus minutes as Xiao Man peppered her with four or five questions about things like her feelings at the ti and why she thought to shout encouragent to the patient.

After finishing the shoot, which felt more like a publicity stunt, Yan Feifan was on his way back to the diagnostics departnt when he ran into Zhao Dongsheng, with whom he had once shared a difficult experience.

"Feifan, I heard from a colleague that this morning, the Extinct—"

Zhao Dongsheng quickly corrected himself. "—that Dr. Qin Ying brought you and a pretty junior disciple to our departnt to block the door and issue a challenge to our Mr. Chen?"

Yan Feifan nodded. "That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but that’s more or less what happened."

Zhao Dongsheng gave a slightly gloating smile. "Mr. Chen’s students can forget about taking a single day off from now on."

"Hey, Feifan..."

He then asked in confusion, "How did you suddenly beco Dr. Qin’s student? What about the diagnostics departnt?"

Yan Feifan explained simply, "The diagnostics departnt was just a temporary transition. I’d rather be a surgeon. The opportunity ca up, so I took Dr. Qin on as my teacher."

Zhao Dongsheng sighed with regret. "If it were and I got into diagnostics, you couldn’t have dragged away."

"But, it’s your own choice. I support you."

"Thanks!" Yan Feifan said politely.

Zhao Dongsheng suddenly leaned in and asked mysteriously, "Feifan, there’s an opportunity for so ’flying knife’ work right now. Are you interested?"

"’Flying knife’?"

Yan Feifan shook his head. "I don’t have the ability to perform major surgeries right now. I can’t do ’flying knife’ work."

Zhao Dongsheng chuckled. "Since I’m the one telling you about it, it’s obviously within your skill set."

He asked in a low voice, "Have you heard of the Zhiyin dical Beauty Hospital here in Binhai?"

Yan Feifan shook his head.

Zhao Dongsheng explained, "It was founded by Tan Yerong, a chief physician who used to be in our plastic surgery departnt. It’s a pretty reputable place."

"I go there on weekends to do so scar revision surgeries on limbs and bodies."

"I do at least three or four cases a day, sotis as many as seven or eight."

"Working four days a month, it’s easy to make ten or twenty thousand."

"The weather is about to get warr, so more beauty-conscious girls are looking to get scar revision surgery."

"So, Mr. Tan wants to recruit one or two more ’flying knives’."

Zhao Dongsheng extended the invitation, "Feifan, I know your skills. A minor scar revision surgery like this is a piece of cake for you."

"Feifan, this is a golden opportunity that won’t co again. I made sure to tell you first."

"If you can easily earn an extra ten or twenty thousand a month, you and your sister could get a new apartnt in the city center..."
