The silver sports car had just co to a stop when the window slid down.
An elbow rested on the window, revealing the sleeve of a black shirt. The small forearm lifted up, fingers long and beautiful, with distinct knuckles, lying in the hazy light like a piece of art.
Then, there was a sharp snap of fingers.
"Get in."
A clear voice ca from inside the car, sowhat hearty, sowhat light, the pleasant timbre suddenly ringing out in the night, incredibly delightful to hear.
Even the cold wind blowing head-on didn’t seem so sharp and biting anymore.
The light was dim, slanting into the car, dividing light and shadow with an oblique line. The youth’s face was hidden in the shadow, but from a few blurred outlines, one could vaguely make out his handso features.
"Goodbye."
This was said by Nora Scott to Lily Turner.
After she spoke, she walked towards the obviously visible luxury sports car.
This unexpected scene left Lily Turner standing in place, stunned for a long mont without any reaction, not even in the mood to respond to what seed like Nora Scott’s last ’provocative’ remark.
Angry and annoyed.
Looking at the new model luxury sports car, and the two figures sitting inside, Lily Turner gritted her teeth, her fingernails digging into her palm.
A sweeping rage and frustration, like a blazing fire, burned her insides completely clean, making her feel uncomfortable all over.
She never thought that Nora Scott would anticipate her plan and pull such a move ahead of ti...
With a "bang," the car door was shut, bringing Lily Turner back to reality in an instant.
At this mont, from a not-so-distant place, the murmurs of the staff drifted over, stuffing cotton-like clumps into Lily Turner’s heart, afraid of not causing enough trouble for her.
"What’s going on here?"
"I heard Nora Scott is ending her stint as a temporary assistant tonight, it seems like soone ca to pick her up."
"Last ti it was a luxury sedan, this ti it’s a luxury sports car picking her up, Nora Scott’s identity isn’t simple, is it?"
"Maybe she was just playing when she worked as an assistant, turns out she’s a hidden rich young lady. After all, she dared to confront Master Johnson directly, she must have so backing."
"That’s really uncertain."
"Don’t you guys feel the guy driving looks familiar? Feels like we’ve seen him sowhere before, seriously."
...
The voices of the staff’s discussion beca clearer, many glances involuntarily cast over in this direction.
The silver sports car sped away like a flash of lightning.

As soon as the sports car exited the studio’s range, Miguel Smith couldn’t wait to claim credit.
"I specially switched to the newly bought sports car to pick you up, how about it, enough face, right?"
"Hmm."
Nora Scott responded, acknowledging his efforts.
Back in the days when she was still in the lilight, there would definitely be news like ’Nora Scott getting into a luxury sports car for a midnight rendezvous with a mysterious man’ by tomorrow.
Being reduced to the sidelines wasn’t all that bad either.
"Congratulations on escaping the clutches of being ordered around, here’s a gift for you."
Miguel Smith casually tossed an item over. Nora Scott lazily lifted her eyelids, catching it with her hand without even looking at it.
It was a silk box, about palm-sized.
"What is it?"
"Had nothing to do, so I wandered around an antique market and picked it up casually." Miguel Smith grinned, looking quite proud, "Don’t you love these things?"
Opening the silk box with a finger, Nora Scott peeked at the cicada-shaped object inside, raising her brow and asking dispassionately, "So you picked up a mass-produced craft item that costs ten bucks for three?"
"..."
Miguel Smith paused montarily, looking pained and aggrieved, "I spent three hundred, haggled down from three thousand."
"..."
No words left to say.
Closing the silk box, Nora Scott stuffed it into her pocket.
She took off her heavy military coat, re-buckling her seatbelt, leaning back into the seat in a more comfortable position, and glanced out at the desolate and chilly street.
Suddenly, Miguel Smith spoke, "Pedro Langley."
?
Upon suddenly hearing this na, Nora Scott’s eyelid twitched slightly, instinctively looking towards Miguel Smith.
Miguel Smith gave her a aningful look, then smiled knowingly, "Wasn’t it Pedro Langley who went to see your grandfather yesterday?"
"Hmm."
Nora Scott didn’t cover it up, responding frankly and straightforwardly.
After a pause, doubt clouded Miguel Smith’s eyes, "Is he your ex?"
"..."
Nora Scott paused slightly, surprised at his intuition.
Seeing she neither denied nor said anything, Miguel Smith imdiately confird his guess, tsking and then marveled, "That’s impressive!"
This tone was quite sarcastic.
"What’s your problem?"
She cast him an oblique cold glance, feeling inexplicably baffled.
"Are you asking ?" Miguel Smith glared at her, "What’s the matter with you? Not utilizing an ex-boyfriend who owns an entertainnt company, how else do you think you can make it in the entertainnt circle?"
As he played with a lighter between his fingers, Nora Scott paused in her movent, "Entertainnt company?"
"Oh co on, don’t tell you didn’t know." Miguel Smith turned the steering wheel, explaining slowly, "Pedro Langley, owner of Fernwood Entertainnt, Third Master of the Langley family in Fenton City, if he wants to make you famous, it’s a matter of minutes."
"..."
She lifted her eyelids slightly, remaining silent.
This sudden silence made Miguel Smith feel sothing was wrong, nearly freaking out in his seat, "Damn, you really didn’t know?"
"...Hmm."
As her gaze settled on the rows of trees flicking past outside, Nora Scott’s tone stayed calm, "He used to, seed to love the tech field a lot."
"’Used to’ when?"
"I guess around when we graduated college."
"That’s right, he first rose to prominence with a video platform before acquiring Fernwood Entertainnt, and in two or three years, overhauled Fernwood inside and out. Gotta say, except for so like Lily Turner, the overall atmosphere at Fernwood Entertainnt now is genuinely good."
"By then, I had basically withdrawn from the circle."
Nora Scott entered the industry early, accidentally debuting in high school as a stunt double, then formally entering the scene with two popular martial arts dramas, enjoying minor fa. However, not having a professional background, her acting skills were frequently criticized, leading her career to remain lukewarm.
Her focus wasn’t on acting, and due to Everlasting World’s Bruno’s situation two years ago, she completely exited the industry, not taking up any projects.
She never signed with an artist agency, let alone paid attention to the owner of any company.
However —
It was sowhat surprising.
She rembered, Pedro Langley had no interest in the entertainnt industry, not even a bit.

Back at the studio.
Standing for a long ti, Lily Turner slowly ca back to her senses amidst the calls from several staff mbers.
She replied a couple of words but didn’t rush over.
Exhaling cold air, Lily Turner unclenched her tightly gripped fist, pulled out her phone, and deftly logged into her social dia burner account.
Finding a few familiar marketing accounts and journalists, she brought up several secretly saved photos and sent them to them.
Nora Scott...
This ti, you better stay being the green leaf.
