"Why break up?"

He spoke softly, his voice magnetic and husky.

Mysteriously, it was tinged with so stuffiness and grievance.

Nora Scott was held in his embrace, feeling his solid arms and broad chest. His scent and warmth surrounded her, perating into her being, almost like lting her.

She remained motionless.

Her eyelashes trembled slightly, thin as a cicada’s wing, casting shadows at the bottom of her eyes, as her eyelids lowered slightly.

"My grandma wouldn’t force you to break up. Butler Loxley said she had a high opinion of you. Before she passed, she even ntioned you, saying she liked you. But this matter is still related to her, isn’t it?"

...

"Others can reconcile after a fight, breakups often have opportunities for redemption, but you just bring up breakup after one quarrel and then disappear completely. I want to reconcile but can’t find you."

"Nora Scott, no one does things like you."

His voice filled her ears, his slow-speaking tone was accusatory.

Nora’s fingers moved slightly, her brow lightly furrowing, layers upon layers of emotions in her chest piled up, intertwined, leaving her unable to move.

His breath sprayed at the hollow of her neck, warmth swept over, followed by a scorching heat.

Her skin, white as snow, turned a pink hue, stark in contrast.

The next mont, Pedro Langley’s tone lightened a bit, as if scolding, he asked, "Aren’t you ashad?"

For so reason, with his question, the heavy oppressive atmosphere dissipated sowhat, the pent-up emotions released.

Nora actually felt a sense of relief in her heart.

From the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of his chiseled face, Nora did not argue, she cooperatively said, "Yes, ashad."

Pedro asked, "Reason?"

"I..."

After a brief silence, sorting out her chaotic feelings, Nora gently spoke.

"Creak——"

The sound of the door opening in the living room made her voice abruptly stop.

Nora stopped speaking in ti, elbowing Pedro, warning him, "Let go."

Darn.

Pedro: "..."

His hand lingered on her waist for a few seconds, feeling thoroughly depressed, he reluctantly released her.

Nora pushed him away slightly, shoved a soy sauce bottle into his hand.

"Season it well, the dumplings are cooked."

She instructed casually, then stepped aside, turned away, and went to untie her apron.

"I’m back."

At this mont, Marcus Shaw, carrying a backpack, appeared at the kitchen door, greeting the two.

Nora ignored him.

Pedro, extrely annoyed, looked down at the soy sauce bottle, squinted his eyes, and directed his gaze towards the door.

In his sight, carrying a touch of murderous air, fierce and chilling.

Marcus: "..." Bewildered.

Did he interrupt their business?

Realizing it belatedly, Marcus raised his hand to scratch his nose, consciously moved aside, and disappeared from their line of sight.

*

In the living room, he moved with light steps, without making any noise.

However, Nora did not linger long in the kitchen, leaving after a short ti.

The lights were on, and Marcus sat on the sofa, ears plugged with earphones, head down, fiddling with his phone. Sensing Nora’s presence, he lifted his eyelids for a glance, not waiting for Nora to notice, quickly withdrawing, and continued staring at the screen playing gas.

"The key to your room."

Nora pulled out a key and tossed it over.

Continuing his gaming, Marcus glanced at the key, had to pause, reached out to grab the tossed key.

Looking down again, in a matter of seconds, he had already been headshot.

His teammates complained noisily, Marcus simply tore off the earphones, not listening, instead looking up at Nora.

He asked, "Have you reconciled?"

Nora sneered, "Got a girlfriend?"

"..."

Anyway, talking properly with her was impossible.

Marcus picked up his earphones, planning to put them back on.

At this ti, Nora glanced towards Antonio Easton’s bedroom, asked, "Did you say hello?"

"Yeah."

Just greeted at the door, and Antonio "chased" him out.

He was not familiar with this grandfather, had no words to exchange.

Every ti they t, spent five minutes, four in silence, the remaining minute, the total words spoken were less than ten sentences.

"If you have questions, you can ask him," Nora said flatly, "it’s convenient."

Marcus was stunned for a mont, only then realized Nora was referring to "chanical Techniques," paused slightly, he wanted to reply, but Nora had already turned and entered her bedroom.

He pressed his lips together, didn’t say anything more.

SJY asked in the earphones whether he wanted to start another ga, he hesitated for a mont, did not agree, exited the ga and put his phone away.

Picked up a side backpack, unzipped it, he flipped through the few books he brought, finding the one Nora had given him earlier.

He glanced at the two bedrooms, didn’t get up, but opened to a certain page, looking down intently.

...

With the aunt not around, the dumplings had already been prepared earlier, sparing Pedro Langley from the hassle. After boiling them, he took out four plates.

"Knock knock knock."

Just as the dumplings were served on the table, there was a knock on the door outside.

Then ca Eleanor Taylor’s voice—

"Nora?"

The voice was cheerful, clear like a winter night elf.

Nora Scott walked out of the bedroom and opened the door to let her in.

"Is there a guest?"

Carrying a body full of snow, Eleanor Taylor entered, glanced around while curiously looking at Marcus Shaw and Pedro Langley seated by the dining table.

"My brother, Marcus Shaw," Nora Scott introduced lightly, "Pedro Langley."

"Oh."

Eleanor Taylor’s eyes shifted, not delving into why "Nora’s brother has the surna Shaw," and with a brilliant smile, she greeted the two, "Hello, I’m Eleanor Taylor. Ward’s granddaughter from next door."

"..."

Marcus Shaw remained silent with his high and cold deanor.

Pedro Langley, however, eyed her suspiciously, then slightly nodded in response.

Having interacted with Nora Scott a few tis, Eleanor Taylor was accustod to a cold treatnt and didn’t mind. She took out a thermal container and handed it to Nora Scott, "Nora, this is the dish my grandfather made. Knowing I’m coming over, he asked to bring it to you."

"Thanks."

Nora Scott took it and returned her storyboard.

It’s Friday today, a weekend break with no exams, and Eleanor Taylor used a "study" excuse to plan not to return ho for the weekend, but to stay with Ward for two days.

Since her storyboard had been revised and handed back, Nora called her over to pick it up.

"Wow!"

Upon flipping it open, Eleanor Taylor was stunned by the modified storyboard.

Full of revision ideas, it looked like the paper was altered beyond recognition, but it was easy to understand. A few strokes naturally glided the cara transition connections.

After opening the first page, Eleanor Taylor stood there dumbfounded, flipping nonstop throughout all revision notes.

Then, she breathed out a sigh.

"Nora, you’re amazing!" Eleanor Taylor held the storyboard in disbelief, asking, "Are you also a comic artist?"

Nora Scott, who had already washed her hands, returned to the living room, reaching the dining table.

She pulled a chair, casually looked over at Eleanor Taylor, and asked, "What’s the matter?"

"No, these revision notes are so professional!" Eleanor Taylor gushed with enthusiasm, "My editor’s suggestions were just a few words."

Nora Scott responded leisurely, "Maybe she just isn’t professional."

"Cough—"

Marcus Shaw almost choked on a dumpling beside her.

Look at her go!

Pedro Langley next to her seed long accustod, calmly pushed the adjusted dipping sauce to Nora Scott.

"...Oh."

Eleanor Taylor blinked and actually nodded in agreent.

For reasons unknown, Eleanor had always found a strange and compelling sense of credibility in Nora Scott; whatever she said, Eleanor’s instinct was to believe.

Originally intending to stay a bit, Eleanor Taylor was so amazed by the revised comic that she couldn’t wait to see it fully realized. So, in a few minutes, she joyfully left with the storyboard.

She ca like a whirlwind, leaving behind a pile of dishes from Ward.

"Let’s eat."

Nora Scott took out the dishes one by one and spoke with Pedro Langley and Marcus Shaw.

The two exchanged glances and started eating the dishes with dumplings.

Before long, Pedro Langley suddenly said, "The Taylor Clan won’t last for many days."

He spoke vaguely, Nora Scott understood, but uninford Marcus Shaw let it go in one ear and out the other.

The Taylor Clan’s current situation will lead to bankruptcy after the New Year. Due to Helena Wills’ attitude toward Nora Scott, Pedro Langley tweaked things slightly to advance the tiline.

What he hadn’t anticipated was Nora Scott knowing the Taylor Clan’s daughter, and seemingly having a good relationship.

"Hmm?"

Nora Scott snapped back to reality, understood, and indifferently said, "It’s fine."

Eleanor is Eleanor, Taylor Clan is Taylor Clan. Her interaction with Eleanor won’t change the inevitable bankruptcy of the Taylor Clan.

It’s simply a matter of ti.

Nora had probed Eleanor, and despite concerns over her family’s situation, Eleanor told her she was ntally prepared.

A young woman more resilient and brave than she appeared.

Seeing her so composed, Pedro Langley gently replied "Hmm" and said no more.

Nora Scott also remained silent.

For reasons unknown, Marcus Shaw fully sensed a hidden aura of danger from Pedro Langley. Whenever Pedro’s gaze swept over, he felt his scalp tingle. He kept quiet and focused on eating, quickly finishing the dumplings, and quickly left.

Those two were acting oddly tonight.

...

After dinner, Nora Scott went to the bedroom.

Within two minutes, she ca out holding a stack of comic books.

At this ti, Pedro Langley, about to put on his jacket with a file folder in hand, stood silently by the sofa waiting for her.

Marcus Shaw had already disappeared.

Nora Scott paused, lifted her eyelids slightly, and said, "I’ll see you off."
