Evening, nine-thirty.

A certain neighborhood, below a certain building.

A sports car parked by the roadside, Ethan Scott rolled down the window, lit a cigarette at his mouth, and turned to look at Glenn Flynn, who was unbuckling his seatbelt, preparing to get out of the car.

Taking a breath of cool air, Ethan suddenly asked, "Not inviting up for a bit?"

"It’s late, I need to rest." Glenn smiled flawlessly, responding politely but distantly, "Another day."

His lips twitched slightly, Ethan’s face in the shadows was obscure and unclear. After a pause, he said, "You’re on winter break, co out and play when you’re free."

"Mm."

Glenn nodded, pushed open the car door, and said, "See you next ti."

"See you next ti."

Ethan bid him farewell.

Getting out of the car, Glenn closed the door and turned to walk toward the building entrance.

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Ethan stared fixedly at Glenn’s departing figure until it completely disappeared from his view, then sneered and withdrew his gaze.

What a joke.

Fumbling for the lighter, Ethan lit up, and soon the car was filled with swirling white smoke, with a tiny orange-yellow light flickering at the end of the tobacco.

The phone screen lit up with a new ssage.

Lily Turner.

The gentlemanly facade vanished, and now, coldness and amusent filled Ethan’s eyes.

A celebrity abandoned by capital has little chance of a coback, so she went to great lengths to seek another path. Recently, she’s been trying to get close to him through Sophie, as if he doesn’t know the reason behind it.

But... she’s not bad-looking, a good diversion for leisure.

He pulled up Lily Turner’s phone number, intending to give her a call.

However, another call ca through abruptly.

It was Professor Tavares, in charge of the agency project.

Narrowing his eyes, Ethan adjusted himself slightly, concealed the hostility in his expression, extinguished the cigarette, and then answered the call.

"Professor Tavares, what can I do for you?"

His tone was low and courteous, remaining the gentlemanly figure.

"Mr. Scott, are you available now?" Professor Tavares asked.

Ethan murmured in acknowledgnt, then asked, "Is there another problem?"

Ethan had always been attentive about the gift for Aaron Scott’s seventieth birthday. But it was precisely because of his concern that there had been no progress, leaving him anxious recently.

He knew at the outset that undertaking this blueprint was a formidable task, requiring substantial ti, manpower, and money—yet the more challenging it was, the more it would please Aaron Scott.

Despite being ntally prepared, dealing with the recurring issues in the blueprint still left him utterly exhausted.

The plan was to complete the blueprint before the year-end, to ensure it’s ready before Aaron Scott’s birthday. However, in reality, approaching year-end, the blueprint progress was barely a third complete. At this rate, even after Aaron Scott’s birthday banquet, the blueprint might not be finished.

Ethan was incredibly anxious, but couldn’t show this to the team responsible for the blueprint.

Professor Tavares hurriedly said, "No, the recent problem has been solved."

"Solved?"

Ethan was quite surprised and also relieved.

"Yes, it was that teacher I ntioned in the afternoon."

There was an unmistakable joy and excitent in Professor Tavares’s tone.

"Him?" Ethan was slightly stunned, "How long did it take?"

"A quarter of an hour."

Dazed for a mont, Ethan moved his phone to the other side and then asked anew, "What?"

"A quarter of an hour!" Professor Tavares exclaid, "After looking at the blueprint I sent him, he resolved the problem in a quarter of an hour. I showed the drawing he sent back to the group, and the other mbers agreed it was an optimal solution."

Ethan Scott: ???

In the absence of any expectations, such a lifesaver suddenly appeared...

This was not delight, but astonishnt.

Ethan remained silent for quite a while.

"Where is he?"

Ethan tried to ask with a steady tone, but there was an undercurrent of excitent.

"Now?" Professor Tavares asked.

"Is he in Fenton City?" Ethan asked again.

"Ah, yes. He’s right in Fenton City."

"I want to invite him to the project in person, can you set up a eting with him?" Ethan said in one breath, paused montarily, then couldn’t help but add, "As soon as possible."

Professor Tavares said quickly, "Sure, I’ll contact him imdiately."

"Mm, thank you."

After hanging up the call, Ethan leaned back in his seat, rubbing his temples, and felt so relief from the tension of the past few days.

A quarter of an hour...

A quarter of an hour!

Heaven is truly watching over him!

*

After finishing the call with Ethan, Professor Tavares imdiately contacted Nora Scott.

He eagerly sent a string of ssages.

However, having turned off her phone and gone to sleep early, Nora didn’t see the ssages until the next morning when she woke up.

After glancing over them, she opened the input box and replied.

[Z,]: I’m not available these few days.

Guarded?

Disgusted?

Heh, I’ll simr you for two days before I comnt.

Throwing her phone aside, Nora Scott finished washing up and stepped out, took two steps, and saw a bundle of white fur darting over, circling around her, owing nonstop.

It’s Rose.

Yesterday, it was all over Pedro Langley, and as soon as Pedro left, it clung to Marcus Shaw.

Nora wasn’t too concerned with it.

She felt indifferent towards such fragile creatures. Nora had never thought of owning a cat, but seeing it running around playfully now and rembering how it had tornted Pedro Langley, her mood lifted, and she bent down to scoop Rose up.

Rose owed and eagerly burrowed its head into her palm, tickling her.

Nora casually picked up a toy ball to tease it.

Then——

"What the hell!"

A startled voice suddenly ca from the window.

Nora turned around and saw Michael Quinn’s puzzled expression; he asked cluelessly, "Hey beautiful, who are you?"

"Looking for trouble?"

Nora shot back an icy glare.

With a pane of glass between them, the nace was lessened, and Michael Quinn exaggeratedly shouted with his hands cupped like a gaphone, "Don’t you think you’re excessively beautiful?"

"..."

Being praised like an insult was truly tornting.

Squeak——

Another door in the courtyard opened.

Michael turned his head and saw a handso but aloof teenager, who looked at him with a condescending look.

Seeing this unfamiliar teenager for the first ti, Michael Quinn was baffled, "Who are you?"

"Marcus Shaw."

Responding to him was Nora Scott, who had just pushed open the living room door.

Four eyes looked over, then, both were stunned.

Nora was wearing a white nightgown, loose with long sleeves, simple design, with fresh and natural patterns at the cuffs and hem, complenting her tall and slender figure, making her look ethereal.

Her slightly long hair was scattered ssily, her face without makeup, skin fair and translucent, every inch immaculate and beautiful.

The weak morning sunlight slanted upon her, cloaking her in a soft halo, while the white cat in her arms lay quietly, lazily moving its head.

Morning, sunlight, beauty, white cat—the scene was peaceful and lovely, as if stepping out of a painting.

Marcus Shaw: "..." He had a bit of a realization why the guy was shouting just now.

Michael Quinn: "..."

Why has she co down to the mortal realm?

Has heaven grown tired of her antics and sent her down to wreak havoc here?

Nora was oblivious, stood by the door, tossing the ball in her hand, introducing Marcus Shaw, "Michael Quinn, Sir Quinn’s grandson."

Michael glanced at Marcus Shaw, smiling cheerfully, "Being her brother must be exhausting for you."

"Hmm?"

Nora smirked.

"Nah, just joking..." Michael Quinn quickly changed his tune, glancing at Nora unavoidably, "You, being so beautiful, should stick to being a fairy. Why learn to speak?"

"Marcus Shaw, show him out."

Nora turned and headed into the living room.

The door remained open.

"Hey! Is this how you treat a childhood friend?"

Michael Quinn chuckled, following Nora closely, slipping through the door.

Marcus Shaw stood there for a few seconds, sensing that Nora’s "show him out" wasn’t ant seriously, so he turned and went back inside.

*

"Is this your cat?"

Michael Quinn circled around Nora, sohow finding a cat teaser, enthusiastically teasing Rose.

Rose stretched out its paws, swiping at it.

Nora glanced up, "It’s just being fostered."

Michael Quinn flicked the cat teaser playfully, then joked, "Not bad, with it, your fairy aura is even stronger."

Nora said nothing, quietly staring at him.

Tiring of playing alone, realizing Nora wasn’t engaging, Michael Quinn awkwardly rubbed his nose, straightening up, looking around nervously, "Where’s Sir Easton?"

"Inside."

"Oh, has he gotten up? I’ll go check..."

Michael said and headed towards Antonio Easton’s room.

"Wait."

Nora called out coldly to stop him.

Michael halted his steps, not turning around.

Nora squinted briefly, asking slowly and distinctly, "What do you want from ?"

"Well..."

Michael faltered, slowly turning around, rubbing the back of his neck, unable to state his purpose.

"Speak." Nora pressed him impatiently, giving him a final ultimatum.

Exhaling.

Michael stepped forward two steps, sincerely and earnestly looking at Nora, "Help break up."
