"What is going on?"
Luna Durant noticed sothing was amiss, and her smugness and pride vanished as she coldly inquired.
A sense of foreboding gradually arose in her heart.
"Miss Durant should be quite clear about what she has done."
In front of everyone, Mr. Carter did not present Luna with a pleasant deanor.
Luna felt an unwillingness, confused, "What did I do?"
"Forcing our puppet museum to breach the contract, doing such inhumane and unjust things, do I need to spell it out for you?" Mr. Carter snorted coldly, directly questioning back.
"..."
The once confident Luna Durant froze.
Breach of contract?
Was Mr. Carter referring to... the Katherine Collins docuntary?
But, hadn’t everything been arranged properly, was it all not proceeding smoothly?
"The old curator still thought Miss Durant to be a sincere person, never realized she was just insidious and selfish. For such a person, naturally, there is no need to fulfill promises."
With each word Mr. Carter said, Luna Durant’s face turned a shade paler.
Everyone in the production team was present for the chanical puppet performance.
Mr. Carter’s remarks were undoubtedly a public humiliation for Luna, slicing her with every word, completely trampling on her honor and dignity.
Just a minute ago—
Everyone was praising her, complinting her, thrilled to see the chanical puppet performance because of her, and in an instant, she plumted—people suddenly reneged, with ample reason.
Success and failure by the sa hands.
"Are you planning to back down?"
Luna Durant’s nails almost pierced into her palm as she bit tightly, yet she proudly lifted her head, refusing to admit fault.
Unexpectedly, as tough as she was, Mr. Carter was even tougher.
"What if we are?" Mr. Carter looked disdainful.
"You need to understand, the Durant Family—"
Luna Durant directly turned off the mic, lowered her voice, and threatened word by word.
But before she could finish her sentence, Mr. Carter retorted, "Which Durant Family?"
"..."
Luna Durant was montarily speechless.
In the northwest, those who were prominent only recognized one Durant Family.
That would be the main Durant Family.
All other branches of the Durant Family were beneath their notice.
Even if Luna Durant’s family was gradually growing, their backbone hardening, these people still could not be bothered to pay attention.
Mr. Carter’s words were like knives, each stabbing toward Luna Durant’s heart.
Turning around, Mr. Carter no longer tangled with Luna, but slightly raised his voice, making a direct statent—
"I’m very sorry, for those wanting to see the chanical puppet performance, you’ll be disappointed."
Christopher Sullivan frowned tightly, intending to salvage the situation, "But it was already agreed upon, the old curator—"
Mr. Carter didn’t give him a chance, instead, he glanced at Luna Durant, and very directly said, "It can only be said, Miss Durant did sothing, not at the right ti."
This remark was almost an explicit announcent—
It was precisely because Luna Durant made a mistake, offended their puppet museum, that the prior promise could not be fulfilled. If anyone is to bla, bla Luna Durant.
Their breach of contract was done with full righteousness.
Christopher Sullivan was naturally hot-tempered, with everything arranged well, just waiting for the final filming stage, yet suddenly this happened, and it wasn’t appropriate to lose his temper. Clearly furious and blowing his mustache, he could only look at Luna a few tis with frustration.
Everyone knew Luna Durant had a temper, arrogant and domineering, often oblivious to others, looking down on people with disdain, but when provoking people, couldn’t she pick a better ti?
Couldn’t it wait until tomorrow?!
Christopher was practically fuming.
But the chanical puppet was originally the puppet museum’s, agreeing to filming without charging extra fees was even just a verbal promise.
Not to ntion backed-out reasons, even if there were no reasons at all, just wanting to tease them, they had no choice but to accept this loss.
"Director Sullivan, it’s not that we’re being harsh, so principles can’t be compromised." Mr. Carter, after hitting with a stick, gave a sweet promise, "You fild so material last night, so even without this shoot, I’m sure you’ll find a solution. Except for the chanical puppet performance, we’ve cleared the venue for you all; this is all out of respect for the production team."
Emphasizing the last sentence, Mr. Carter specially glanced at Luna Durant.
The aning was crystal clear: this was for the production team’s sake, having nothing to do with Luna Durant.
"..."
Luna Durant gritted her teeth in anger.
Damn!
This man was insane, ti and again picking on her, not giving her any face!
