Now reading: Chapter 551 - 340: Pedro Langley: I’ve Been in Pain Until No from Overprotected By My Tsundere CEO, a Romance novel by Fruit Bottle.

Five years ago——

That night wasn’t like tonight’s storm, a full moon hung high in the night sky, silver light spilled onto the city, through every household’s window, casting a silvery glow on the ground, like a layer of delicate gauze.

There were no lights on inside, but it wasn’t completely dark, the view was relatively clear.

Their first love.

For the first ti, naive and bewildered.

Nora Scott started crying and couldn’t stop, feeling like her pride and dignity as a heroine were utterly shattered, feeling terribly wronged, she bit down on Pedro Langley’s shoulder, nearly taking a chunk off.

Since Pedro first knew Nora, he’d never seen her cry, seeing it made his heart lt completely, letting her bite him without a word of complaint.

"Don’t cry, I will take responsibility for you."

At twenty-three, Pedro Langley was in a panic, ignoring the pain, he hurriedly comforted her.

Nora kicked him, glared at him with red eyes, stubbornly saying, "I’m not crying."

Pedro’s shoulder was stained with blood, holding her, "You’re not crying, I saw wrong."

Curling up in his arms, under the moonlight, Nora saw the beads of blood seeping from his wound, and felt a bit softened.

She humd softly, "Don’t touch again in the future."

He quickly agreed, "I won’t."

"Then will you touch other won?" Nora got a bit annoyed.

"I won’t either."

Pedro promised without a second thought.

"...Oh."

Nora snorted unhappily.

Tears were soaking his shoulder, and then the pillow, he didn’t dare to move.

Outside, a gentle night breeze lifted the lightweight, translucent white curtains, a thin layer of gauze, flying indoors. A ray of moonlight slanted in, through the curtains, illuminating a drawing board.

On the drawing board was a sketch, soon to be completed, of a northern rural building, the scene where they clarified their relationship.

The shadow of the gauzy curtain fell, floating and dancing, light and shadow slicing and changing, shifting mysteriously.

Slowly, Nora stopped crying.

She still said, "I’m not crying."

"You’re not."

Pedro’s body was stiff, but he quickly responded to her, his slightly hoarse voice full of tenderness.

"Nora."

He called out softly, cautiously, gently wiping away the tear marks on her face, "I will take responsibility for you, okay?"

"Can you shoulder it?" Nora retorted imdiately.

Pedro pondered for a mont, then said, "In a year, let’s get married."

"I don’t care."

"Whatever you want, I’ll give you."

"You can’t give it."

"What is it?"

"..."

Nora suddenly fell silent.

She wanted a life, free and unrestrained, without limitations, which no one could give her, only she could carve out by herself, step by step.

In the silence, Nora felt his tension and anxiety, her heart softened again, saying: "...I’m difficult to take care of."

"I can handle it."

"Using your family’s money?"

"No family, just myself."

Nora was montarily speechless, her eyes turned misty again, her heart in chaos.

She didn’t want to talk about this topic anymore, so she began to complain, "You’re so annoying."

"..."

Pedro promptly fell silent.

After a few seconds of silence, Nora urged him again, "Talk."

Pedro was stunned, not knowing what to say, and seeing her unhappy, he could only say, "I’m annoying."

Nora scolded, "Blockhead."

"Hmm."

"Jerk."

"Hmm."

...

For every scold, Pedro responded accordingly.

Not knowing how long she cursed for, Nora was exhausted from cursing, her voice turning light and floaty.

She gradually closed her eyes, seemingly about to sleep, but still murmured, "Pedro Langley."

"I’m here."

Pedro always gave her the most tily response.

Nora lay in his arms, sobbing softly once, a tear stinging on his chest.

Before sleeping, she warned in a low voice, "If you speak of today’s matter, you’re dead."

Pedro didn’t dare to say a word.

That night, he didn’t sleep at all.

Until near dawn, when the moonlight receded into the distance, moving away from the window, plunging the room into darkness, only then did Pedro manage to drift into a brief nap.

In his sleep, he heard a "bang," a sound like sothing breaking.

He suddenly awoke in shock.

The person in his arms seed to be awake, and before he could check, she pushed him, "Close the curtains, the glare’s making it hard to sleep."

Pedro’s first reaction was to worry about her, asking, "Are you alright?"

"Hurry!"

Urging him once, Nora turned her back to him.

A head of jet-black hair, spread on the white pillow, stood out in stark contrast.

Pedro stared at her blankly for a mont, then followed her words, obediently closing the window and the curtains.

The room turned dark.

When Pedro ca back, a pillow was thrown at him from the darkness, striking him right in the face.

He hurriedly grabbed it.

"Go sleep in the study, don’t co in."

That’s what Nora said.

At that ti, Pedro dared not defy her wishes, wanting to show so concern but afraid of displeasing her or making her explode, so after hesitating for a mont, several tis opening his mouth then swallowing his words, he ultimately left without a word, carefully holding the pillow, and left the bedroom.
