The car stopped by the roadside.

Streetlights densely dotted the area, with few vehicles and pedestrians passing by. The sound of rain pattered against the car windows, creating a mixed cacophony.

His gaze fell on the entrance of the residential area, hesitated slightly, and then Camilo Nogueira withdrew his gaze, glancing at the phone screen.

The call went out, but no one answered.

He worked overti until nine o’clock, compelled by an inexplicable concern for the child, detoured along the way, and by the ti he ca back to his senses, he had already parked the car here.

He simply didn’t leave; after several monts of hesitation, Camilo dialed Andrew Hughes.

It rang for about twenty seconds, and still, no one answered.

Driven by distraction.

The child wasn’t his son, and the mother was at ho; why was he concerned?

As he extended his finger to hang up, unexpectedly, at that instant, the call suddenly went through.

"Camilo."

Andrew’s childish voice ca through.

He paused his action, Camilo stopped in ti, and after a mont of consideration, he asked, "Have you and your mom had dinner?"

There was a mont of silence from the other end, then Andrew said, "I ate, but Mom didn’t."

Lowering his eyelids, Camilo glanced at the two bags on the passenger seat, his brows furrowed and then relaxed, "I passed by and bought so supper."

"Mom’s sick," Andrew responded, then hesitated before asking, "Camilo, are you near my ho?"

"Yes."

Camilo answered.

With a sigh of relief, Andrew asked softly, "Could you please buy so dicine for my mom?"

"Sure," Camilo agreed imdiately, and then asked, "What kind of sickness does your mom have?"

Since he ntioned buying dicine rather than going to the hospital, it shouldn’t be serious.

Andrew said, "Fever."

"...Okay."

Camilo relaxed.

That was manageable.

"Don’t worry, I’ll be there soon."

After the assurances and receiving Andrew’s response, he ended the call.

After parking the car nearby, Camilo opened the umbrella and got out of the car. Walking a few steps, his pants were splashed wet, and after furrowing his brows, he suddenly rembered sothing, turned back, circled around to the passenger seat, and opened the door to take out the supper.

Pharmacies were everywhere, especially near a residential area, and following his phone’s navigation for a few minutes, Camilo successfully found one.

It hadn’t closed yet.

"Hello—"

The clerk, who was engrossed in playing gas, heard the voice and was about to greet him, but upon seeing Camilo’s figure, was speechless.

With a handso appearance, tall and graceful, his elegant deanor caught attention. The rain outside was heavy, so Camilo’s hair tips and coat were slightly wet, adding a touch of chilliness to his warm presence, a little aloof yet captivating.

Holding the supper in one hand and an umbrella in the other, the folded and closed umbrella was dripping water. He swayed outside the door for a mont before entering and casually placing it in the umbrella stand before the cash register.

Polite, courteous, and gentle.

"Do you have dicine for colds and fever?"

Camilo’s gentle inquiry instantly brought the clerk’s absent-minded thoughts back.

The clerk nodded and hurriedly said, "Yes."

She was the only one in the store. She put down her phone, walked out from the cash register, and then went to the shelf.

Camilo followed closely.

"These two are for direct consumption, and this one is for drinking..."

Perhaps a little nervous, the clerk didn’t particularly recomnd any one type, listing them one by one, leaving it to Camilo to choose.

With a slight frown, Camilo noticed the cold dicine filling the shelves and asked, "Which one works best?"

The clerk contemplated briefly and selected a moderately priced one with a good effect.

Handing it to Camilo, the clerk said, "This is generally the one used."

"You ntioned..." Taking that one, Camilo hesitated for a mont, then said, "I’ll take a single portion of each."

"Huh?"

A look of shock and bewildernt was evident on the clerk’s face.

Camilo chuckled lightly, "Just to be safe."

The clerk: "..."

Even with being safe, one wouldn’t consu so much.

Eat it like a al?

However, the custor spoke with such generosity and showed no signs of changing his mind, so the clerk, with a slightly flushed face and filled with doubts, packed each dicine she introduced.

Regretting it imnsely internally.

—Had I known, I wouldn’t have recomnded so many options.

Good-looking and with such charisma, how could he end up being a sucker?

*

With a bag of dicine, Camilo paid and headed out. Opening the umbrella, he swiftly walked into the rain.

The water on the ground flowed in streams, with few dry spots. Walking along, his pants got wet.

Luckily, it wasn’t far, and after about ten minutes of walking, Camilo arrived at the entrance of Andrew Hughes’s apartnt building.

He had previously picked up Andrew from kindergarten and had visited Andrew’s ho once, so he knew the address.

Through the intercom, Andrew confird his identity and opened the door for him.
