Richard Carter was still confused, and Shaw slapped him awake.
"What does that kid Ryan Ford an, pretending not to know in front of my grandma and having two security guards block outside?" Shaw shouted on purpose to embarrass Richard Carter, "You guys invite soone over and don’t even know them yourself? How can Ryan Ford still be a captain? So irresponsible, this project is dood!"
"Grand... grandma?"
Richard Carter was still puzzled by this form of address.
Nora Scott naturally joined the conversation, "No need to be so polite."
"..."
As he realized what was happening, Richard Carter’s face fell, turning pale, thinking how Nora Scott had the nerve to accept this way of addressing her.
Shaw waved his hand with a stern face, "Stop trying to get close here."
Richard Carter: "...Who the hell wants to get close! It’s not like soone thick-skinned is forcing it!"
Cursing inwardly, Richard Carter dared not quarrel with Shaw, suppressing his temper, "There are a lot of people on the team, and Captain Ford has a lot on his plate. All these matters were contacted by ; he genuinely might not know Miss Scott."
Shaw imdiately glared, "Who are you calling Miss? Who the hell are you trying to upset?"
"Well," Richard Carter asked with a forced smile, knowing he was intentionally causing trouble, "La... lady?"
"Call her sister," Shaw frowned, glanced at Nora Scott, and said, "Nora."
"...Nora," Richard Carter uttered with difficulty.
Looking at Nora Scott’s young face, he felt he had endured a lot.
"Enough," Nora Scott didn’t intend to vent on Richard Carter; seeing him almost in tears due to Shaw, she decided it was enough, stood up, and picked up the backpack on the floor, "Where am I staying?"
Relieved, Richard Carter quickly said, "On the third floor, I’ll take you there."
Just as he started walking, Shaw got up and kicked him. As Richard Carter turned back in confusion with weak legs, Shaw gave a cold look at the backpack in Nora Scott’s hand.
Richard Carter got the hint, his mind muddled by the situation, reluctantly picking the bag for Nora Scott and respectfully leading them both to the third floor.
He took out a key to Nora Scott and explained, "In the project team, it’s just you and Master Silver, two won. There are limited rooms, so we arranged for you both to stay together."
Nora Scott frowned, "Two beds?"
"Yes,"
Richard Carter nodded.
You might want one bed, but Master Silver may not be pleased with that.
"Master Silver is a woman?" Nora Scott lowered her gaze, casually asked.
Nora Scott sent a ssage saying "arriving tomorrow night" and then was unreachable, which had left Richard Carter sulking. The fact that Master Silver was a young, beautiful woman was big news in their circle, yet Nora seed unaware...
Unable to hold back his grievances, Richard Carter spoke, "Nora, didn’t you get internet access yet?"
Nora Scott’s eyes turned cold.
Before she could react, Shaw took a step forward, pushing Richard Carter on the shoulder, "What do you an, can’t you speak properly?!"
Richard Carter staggered back, almost falling, regaining his balance after two steps, ready to stand up to Shaw. But upon eting Shaw’s fierce gaze, he swallowed his fury.
With trembling lips, Richard Carter murmured, "Sorry."
Nora Scott glanced at Shaw.
Shaw then retracted his fierce expression and stepped back, but warned Richard Carter, "Speak without sarcasm, my grandma’s willingness to co is your good fortune. Don’t dismiss her, so so-called Master Silver, may not even have any real skills."
Shaw was still angry.
Having been Nora Scott’s craftsman for so long, didn’t he know who Master Silver was?
He initially thought their so-called Master Silver was a reference to Nora. But when he eagerly went to see, he encountered a haughty woman who didn’t even glance at people directly. The resentnt had been welled up, and Richard’s sarcastic words only added fuel to the fire.
"..."
Richard Carter wanted to retort but held back, furrowing his brows, and lowered his head in silence.
*
Master Silver, Richard Carter ntioned, wasn’t in the room, but her presence was everywhere: the scent of her perfu in the air, her high-class coat hanging on the wall, a row of her shoes on the balcony, and her belongings scattered around. Evidently, she was a luxurious and beauty-loving woman.
Nora Scott glanced around, tossed her backpack onto the empty bed, and followed Shaw to his room.
Shaw shared the room with Ryan Ford, but with Ryan absent, he was alone. Nora wanted to discuss sothing privately, so eting him in his room was more convenient. People ca and went, casting them peculiar looks as Shaw led her to his room.
Being straightforward, Shaw didn’t notice. Nora saw but didn’t care.
