The day before Returning Seal City, apart from going to etings, Nora Scott spent her day doing handicrafts at ho.
The woodworking workshop was locked, and als were delivered by Jack Carter, not even coming out the door.
Frank Ford had work, leaving Pedro Langley and Thomas Langley with nothing to do.
The two brothers rarely stuck together, taking advantage of a nearby market opening, Thomas wanted to experience rural life and eagerly dragged Pedro along to visit the marketplace.
The result—
Less than two hours later, Thomas was dragged back by Pedro.
"Master Pedro, Second Shaw. Back so soon?" Jack Carter was tending to the flowers in the courtyard and was visibly surprised to see them.
Pedro didn’t want to say a word, striding directly into the wooden house.
Thomas tossed the car keys to Jack Carter, "Jack, go and grab so stuff for ."
"Alright."
Jack swiftly answered as he caught the keys.
It wasn’t until Jack opened the trunk and saw the piles of fireworks that he began to understand Pedro’s expression.
—Second Shaw sure has a childlike heart!
However, two big n buying so many fireworks, Master Pedro is sure to be unhappy.
It’s quite embarrassing!
And without Miss Scott around!
"Didn’t you really like fireworks when you were a kid? You wouldn’t let go of the firecrackers, and you cried after they were used!" Thomas looked at Pedro’s darkened face, puzzled, "This is a rare opportunity; your brother wants to accompany you to light fireworks. They’re selling them at the market, and local rules don’t prohibit it."
Pedro glanced at him, "How old was I then?"
"Two or three years old, maybe." Sitting beside Pedro, Thomas reminisced, "Tsk, cried so badly, couldn’t be consoled. It was only after Big Brother bought the last few firecrackers from other kids that you stopped crying."
"..."
Really didn’t want to talk to this man.
Pedro dragged Thomas back not only because Thomas swept through all the fireworks stock, but also because Thomas had a fervent shopping desire, wanting to buy everything, wishing to include anything he hadn’t seen before... You can’t imagine how annoying it was.
Such things in Nora Scott would seem cute.
On Thomas...
It was brainless and childish.
"Is the sister-in-law going to lock herself up all day? Are we calling her down to play tonight?" Thomas asked.
"Not calling."
Nora was clear, she said no one should disturb her if there were any lapses in the birthday gift she was preparing for him, she’d hold him accountable.
Knowing Nora wouldn’t have ti to play was why Pedro wasn’t interested in that pile of fireworks.
Thomas shook his head, "What a pity."
...
In the evening, when Frank Ford returned and saw the fireworks, his playful side erged.
He and Thomas hit it off imdiately; after dinner, they moved a large pile of fireworks to the courtyard and began playing like foolish children. One was lighting the fire while the other was taking photos and recording videos, having a blast.
In no ti, social dia was flooded with photos and videos of these two idiots.
Pedro scrolled through his social circles, seeing tons of likes and envious comnts, resisting the urge to black out this group of fools, throwing his phone aside.
He got up, intending to go upstairs.
Yet the courtyard sounds kept coming.
After a brief pause, Pedro eventually changed his direction and headed towards the courtyard.
Just as he thought, Thomas and Frank were using their fireworks foolishly, having a great ti. Frank was posing with sparklers while Thomas, as the photographer, was quite competent, adjusting his direction and position, guiding Frank’s movents, quite systematically.
"Master Pedro."
Butler Loxley walked by with a plate of fruit, smiling and greeting Pedro.
Pedro gave him a glance.
Butler Loxley placed the fruit plate on the stone table in the courtyard.
Frank imdiately summoned Butler Loxley, "Loxley, co quickly, let’s take a photo together."
"Alright."
Butler Loxley cheerfully agreed.
Butler Loxley always enjoyed participating in young people’s activities, even if Frank asked him to pose with sparklers; he was happy to cooperate, even asking if this or that was okay, truly showing a sense of engagent.
Pedro: "..."
At this mont, there was a noise from the window above.
Pedro paused, sensing sothing, and looked up, just catching Nora’s motion as she peeked out.
"Hey."
Glancing around the courtyard, Nora spoke with interest.
Then, sweeping her gaze, she fixed her eyes on Pedro.
"Pedro," with both hands resting on the window, Nora leaned slightly forward, the light behind casting her expression into shadow but revealing a vivid smile in her eyes as she laughed, "Why aren’t you playing along? Have you been isolated by the kids?"
Pedro’s brow moved slightly.
However, before he could speak, Frank shouted loudly, "Sister-in-law! Want to co down and join us?!"
