Lu Ce sped away, leaving gunshots, firelight, and chaos behind him.
It was as if that was a completely different world.
He was like the source of a plague, spreading madness, fueling conflict and strife, and then drifting away.
This city had a problem — maybe everyone’s minds had been affected, or maybe the ga had released so kind of frenzied current — either way, it didn’t matter.
He would just follow the ga’s lead and make everything worse.
Greed loved chaos the most — as long as everything turned into a big pot of madness, he’d have a chance to reap his own benefits from it.
Of course, explosive benefits.
Riding on the Black Knight, the lights and shadows on both sides changed rapidly. The sun was setting, and it was almost dusk.
Night was gradually falling, and as the light dimd, the veneer of civilization on people's faces also began to peel away.
All along the way, it seed like car crashes were everywhere; the streets were just short of turning into an all-out brawl.
The more chaotic it was outside, the weaker Lu Ce’s own independent spirit beca, and the Greed Mask seed like it was wrestling for control, getting more and more excited.
"Heh heh, looks like last ti there weren’t enough people — this mask didn’t have enough fun..."
Lu Ce chuckled softly, and the Black Knight under him roared with excitent.
"Hey! We’re almost there, but I have a feeling sothing’s about to go wrong. Is your body gonna hold up?"
"Just keep driving — your body might not even be as tough as mine."
"Then it’s a deal — if I smash sothing, you gotta fix up later!" the Black Knight shouted as he sped like a gust of wind.
"Depends on the price."
Chatting like this, Lu Ce already spotted a taxi up ahead accelerating suspiciously.
At the sa ti, the road ahead was jamd full of vehicles, all cramd together. The traffic lights at the intersection changed, and countless cars surged in.
"Hold on tight, don't fall off!"
The Black Knight shouted excitedly, blue fire blasting out of his exhaust pipe as he sprinted forward.
Weaving through the crowded traffic like a dragon, Lu Ce could clearly feel how many side mirrors his shoulders had snapped off.
The crowd’s curses and honking gradually faded from his ears; his eyes were locked firmly on that car ahead.
"Ah, the accident’s here, just like I thought."
The Black Knight’s current speed was nearly as fast as a bullet train. Suddenly, a teasing voice rang out, the tone sounding like soone who had already given up.
But based on Lu Ce’s previous orders, the Black Knight didn’t slow down at all!
At the last T-junction, from a blind spot in his vision, a heavy pickup truck suddenly charged out without warning!
Even with Lu Ce’s terrifying reflexes, all he could catch was a blur — a truck charging out — and then, the roar of impact hit.
Boom!
The deafening crash sounded like two trains colliding — half of the pickup’s body exploded instantly, debris flying everywhere like grenade shrapnel.
But at the very last second, the Black Knight twisted slightly, shifting Lu Ce's body just enough to avoid taking the brunt of the impact.
"Good luck, bro," the Black Knight said.
"Don't fall apart yourself!" Lu Ce laughed back, his gaze never once shifting, locked onto the car ahead.
In the horrific crash, Lu Ce’s right leg twisted grotesquely, and his whole body was blasted forward by the shockwave, flying toward that taxi.
His body drew an arc through the air and slamd squarely onto the taxi’s roof.
Bang!
The taxi roof caved in with a massive dent. The driver inside looked absolutely terrified, flooring the accelerator and swerving like crazy!
Crash!
The tal roof screeched as it tore apart. The driver twisted his head around — and his eyes nearly popped out.
A bloody right hand had punched through the roof.
The arm ripped open the tal roof, and with a forceful tug, tore a huge hole in the taxi’s top!
A Blue Mask jamd into the hole, Lu Ce lying on top of the speeding car, grinned at the driver and said:
"Hey there, where you running to?"
It was like he was telling the guy — run faster! Instantly the taxi maxed out its speed, swerving wildly in the middle of the road, trying to shake Lu Ce off.
But Lu Ce’s strength? The car roof couldn't hold him at all — the whole shell was ripped open, and half his body squeezed inside through the ceiling.
It wasn’t even nightti yet, but Lu Ce’s appearance was enough to scare the driver like he’d seen a ghost.
"Hey, what’re you so afraid of?" Lu Ce asked, hanging upside down over the passenger seat, puzzled.
Of course he was scared, who wouldn't be?!
The driver, completely panicked, suddenly shouted and grabbed a gun hidden under his seat!
Lu Ce: ?!
The pistol was shoved straight at Lu Ce’s head — Bang!
Lu Ce dodged.
In the next second, he flipped into the car, crushed the tal gun barrel with his hand, and a mocking smile appeared beneath the Blue Mask.
"Ah, see and imdiately pull a gun without saying a word. You people definitely have problems."
"I... I don't know anything..." The driver said in terror, watching his gun crushed to bits.
"I never said you knew anything," Lu Ce grinned. "Relax, I know the rules. The ga moves forward bit by bit. I’m not even forcing you to confess, hehehe..."
"Tell , where’s the player you picked up just now?"
Saying that, Lu Ce grabbed the guy’s shoulder with one hand, gently applying pressure, watching the driver’s face twist in pain.
"Oh? That face — hurts, huh?"
"Wasn't it supposed to be impossible for to hurt you guys? Or is the protection ti about to end... heh, you’d better not refuse ."
All of the guy’s resistance crumbled like paper in front of the pain — he couldn't hold on — and his eyes darted toward a street corner.
Lu Ce twisted his head and locked eyes with a plain-looking Japanese man.
The man instantly panicked. The Blue Mask grinned wickedly, nodded at him, then punched the driver’s leg hard.
The taxi shot forward under the driver’s foot, and Lu Ce wrestled the steering wheel a few tis with his other hand, quickly crashing the car right in front of the target.
Lu Ce kicked the door open, flipped, and jumped out.
"Hi there~ Long ti no see."
Lu Ce called out to the confused man across from him — the guy’s face clearly saying, "When have I ever seen you before?"
"Heh, that look... really breaks my heart..."
