Lu Ce: ?

He could hear it—Xie Antong’s voice sounded heavily restrained, like she was deliberately lowering her voice to avoid being overheard.

“What are you testing? What are you even talking about?”

“You can actually hear ? Then maybe this really is connected...” Xie Antong’s voice carried a trace of surprise, like she hadn’t expected it to work.

Lu Ce replied:

“Your headset’s broken already?”

“Are Epic-tier Weapons really this crappy? You must’ve been scamd when you bought it.”

Xie Antong: ......

“No, that’s not what I ant. The prison guards canceled yard ti and told us to go back, right?”

“I’ve already returned. Technically, when we’re in our cells, our weapons shouldn’t work.”

“But now, for so reason, the door isn’t closed.”

“So I wanted to test if it would still work.”

“And? Does it work?” Lu Ce asked, feigning intense “curiosity.”

Xie Antong: ......

This prison is poorly built, but you still managed to build it to the worst possible standard.

“Wait.”

Lu Ce suddenly thought of sothing and looked down again.

“You just said you were all forced back in, but the prison doors didn’t close, right?”

“Yeah.”

“Why? Could it be that soone hasn’t returned yet? Is there still soone outside?”

“Yeah, like you.”

Lu Ce: #......

“But I don’t think that’s really the key point. I an, would a prison really care if soone hasn’t returned before locking the doors?” Xie Antong added.

“True, that makes sense...”

Lu Ce looked down at the writing next to the three brains in the container, reading the lines that described the yard ti and the door schedules.

“Is it possible... that they’re not leaving the doors open on purpose, but because they can’t close them?”

“What did you say?” Xie Antong picked up on the ssage instantly.

“Nothing. Your info is useful. This ga better not turn into so kind of cursed-rule mystery story.”

“Maybe those three are just the surface-level controllers.”

“What are the three of them doing right now?”

Upon hearing that question, Xie Antong activated her distant All-Knowing Eye and checked on the three people under surveillance.

“I can’t hear very clearly—their guard’s up and they’ve got outside shielding.”

“But the three of them have pretty bad tempers. After the prison guards ca back, they moved to one side and looked like they were arguing.”

“I only caught fragnts. The Warden and Know-it-All questioned the prison guard.”

“They said, ‘Why did you feed that person? Weren’t we supposed to deal with that guy today? Now we’ve wasted today’s opportunity again.’”

Xie Antong relayed the ssage word for word, but Lu Ce’s brows furrowed tightly.

“You’re sure? You didn’t mishear anything?”

“Positive!” Xie Antong was confident when it ca to things like this.

He looked again at the rule written up top, which clearly stated: “At least one feeding per day.”

Tch. Could this be a problem with the translation software? Could the ga’s auto-translate system actually have ambiguities?

“Alright, keep observing. Also, if anything weird happens in the prison over the next little while, tell everything!”

Xie Antong raised her eyebrows slightly. This might be the first ti “Sin” had proposed such a direct form of collaboration.

Before this, “Sin” always ant to watch things alone. Like he could handle everything by himself.

“Got it.”

After agreeing, Xie Antong gave it so thought and injected herself with the ga’s first dose.

anwhile, on Lu Ce’s end, he rubbed his chin, staring at the three brains in front of him, studying the rule descriptions above them.

This prison... has a lot of suspicious stuff going on...

Outside, including among the three big shots like the Warden and the prison guard, tensions were flaring again.

The core issue was the questioning of why the prison guard had done what he did.

Originally, today’s feeding quota was supposed to go to that shapeshifter. So why’d he use it on so riot-crazed idiot instead?

What kind of chaos could an idiot like that stir up?

But of course, the prison guard wasn’t backing down either—he thought he was completely justified.

The three of them looked like they were about to throw hands.

There was already mistrust among them, and today’s situation only made it worse.

“What, are you starting to suspect now?!”

The prison guard clenched his fists and glared daggers at the other two.

“You wanna fight?”

“If you can’t calm down, then go ahead and swing.” The Warden wasn’t exactly calm himself.

“Before we go there, can one of you give my headset back...” Know-it-All said, clearly annoyed.

Just then, the entire prison went into chaos. Door after door opened, and a swarm of black-clad figures carrying trays stread out. The trays held this round’s food.

But the problem was—it wasn’t even al ti yet!

In fact, it was way too early!

The prison guard and the Warden both looked on in total confusion at the flood of figures.

“What the... is going on?”

“Get back! It’s not ti yet! What the h*ll are you doing? Get lost!”

The prison guard roared in fury, his voice so loud it made the entire prison tremble slightly.

Xie Antong frowned as she watched all this unfold. Was this the abnormal event “Sin” ntioned earlier?

Seems like it. Guess this counts.

But before she could say anything, another swarm of black-robed figures ran out, heading for every cell.

“Sleep! Sleep!”

From under the black robes ca a grating voice, urging every prisoner to rest.

That’s what you’re supposed to do after eating.

The whole prison: ?

The prison guard: ?

“Are you rebelling?! What are you doing?!”

The prison guard stord toward the figures, looking like he was about to throw hands.

Xie Antong quickly pressed on her headset.

“Did you do sothing?! The prison’s gone completely haywire!”

Elsewhere, in the underground tunnel, Lu Ce was poking at the three brains in front of him.

“Oh? Really? Looks like it actually worked.” Lu Ce said in surprise.

“What happened?”

Xie Antong told him everything she had seen.

“Those weird things, the ones always wrapped in black clothing, they all ca out?”

“Yeah. They’re delivering food and telling everyone to go to sleep,” Xie Antong replied while watching the scene unfold.

“Good!” Lu Ce nodded and pulled his hand back from poking the brains. “Help confirm sothing.”

“What is it?” Xie Antong was surprised. “Did ‘Sin’ just use the word ‘help’?”

“Use the All-Knowing Eye and get under those black robes. Go in and see what their bodies look like inside.”

Xie Antong: !?
