"Was there originally so lunatic here?"
"How peculiar."
As the princess's words fell, Lu Ce's voice rang out from outside the window, causing the princess's expression to darken imdiately.
She didn't even need to turn around before the golden-clad figure leaped in through the window. Ever since the previous tremor, Lu Ce had beco extrely sensitive to any shaking of the castle.
But this ti, after Xie Antong ntioned the word "possession," the shaking lasted only briefly before calm was restored. By the ti Lu Ce entered, the opportunity had already passed.
"Lunatics never realize they're lunatics," the princess said with a darkened expression.
Lu Ce ignored her, turning instead to Xie Antong. "What did you just say?"
Xie Antong: "......"
"Nothing, just pure speculation. I happened to ntion that perhaps the princess's betrothed might be possessed."
Lu Ce glanced back at the massive stone and the weapon sealed within before continuing, "You're suggesting her mory confusion and love-hate entanglent might also stem from that person being possessed by a deity?"
"Correct."
"But I said this place isn't shaking!"
"I don't know..."
"Are you two determined to make this place shake?!" the princess snapped angrily.
She knew nothing good would co of this man's arrival. "Stop openly discussing how to cause trouble for in my own room!"
"Isn't this my room?" Lu Ce frowned.
The princess: "......"
She weakly slapped her forehead, realizing she'd dug herself into a deep hole yesterday. Initially eting this bizarre person claiming to be king had seed amusing—she'd played along to see what might happen. Now she found herself trapped by his unshakable belief in his royal identity.
Seeing no response, Lu Ce turned back to Xie Antong. "Anything else? Try again."
Xie Antong thought to herself—was she being treated as so kind of test switch now?
"These things require careful attempts—I'm not certain. I need to speak with Her Highness..."
"Oh, perhaps it doesn't need to be so complicated," Lu Ce said. "You could just wildly guess every possible scenario until sothing makes this place shake."
Xie Antong: "......"
"Why don't you just recite the entire Xinhua Dictionary from start to finish then?"
"Do you have a Xinhua Dictionary on you?"
......
The princess watched them expressionlessly. "If neither of you has anything important to do, leave together now."
Honestly, she was beginning to think madness might be preferable.
"Oh, there actually is sothing," Lu Ce said as if suddenly rembering. "There's a group of worthless fools outside making quite a show."
"If I eliminate them, would that accomplish anything?"
The princess snapped, "Don't! Don't act on your own judgnt—these matters don't require your input!"
Lu Ce's golden mask slowly turned toward her, displaying clear confusion. "What are you talking about? Did I ask you?"
Then he turned the mask toward Xie Antong. "What about those eyes of yours? Make yourself useful."
Xie Antong rubbed her temples. Since yesterday, when she'd noticed an inexplicably empty servant's quarters, she'd begun forming bold theories about Sin's role in this ga.
She whispered, "No... our mission is to ensure the wedding proceeds smoothly..."
The implication was clear—why did you seem determined to sabotage it?
"I don't care about missions!" Lu Ce said coldly. "I have my own objectives—I want to open that stone and see what's inside."
"Just tell —if I remove those heads outside, will this place shake even more violently than yesterday?"
The golden mask radiated arrogant pressure. The princess's expression twisted, her hand already moving toward a hidden button—prepared for direct confrontation if necessary.
Xie Antong quickly grasped the princess's hand in reassurance, caught between two difficult personalities. "I believe it's best not to proceed this way."
She hastily added, "Of course, no one can stop you from acting—your will is supre. But the wedding is about to begin, and divine intervention seems involved. Wouldn't you rather see what fascinating developnts might occur then?"
"If you stop the wedding now, the gods might think you're afraid."
Lu Ce: "......"
The golden mask flickered with indecision. Lu Ce wasn't foolish—he recognized blatant reverse psychology. But in his current masked state, this provocation proved remarkably effective...
After several seconds of silence, Lu Ce turned and seated himself on the massive stone, awaiting potential tremors rather than imdiately executing the groom.
The princess's expression remained stormy—she couldn't bear to look at the arrogant figure anymore.
With the powder keg temporarily stabilized, Xie Antong finally focused on the princess. "Your Highness... your prince awaits outside."
"You saw him earlier—do you truly wish to marry him?"
The princess composed herself, closed her eyes, and nodded.
Xie Antong looked surprised. "Why? Your emotions reveal deep hatred toward him."
"And the castle's earlier shaking confird my suspicions—he may not be the one you loved, perhaps even possessed. Do you still love him?"
The princess remained silent before eting Xie Antong's gaze with sudden gentleness. "This isn't about love."
The mad beauty's face softened into a heartbreakingly fragile smile. "Everyone has their destiny."
"I choose to walk toward mine."
