The rest of her words were cut off as he suddenly leaned in for a kiss. Her already mortified expression stiffened as her dilated eyes almost popped out of their sockets. For a second, her mind went blank, watching him pull his head back like a fool.

Zoren smiled subtly, brushing a few stray hairs from her face with the back of his hand. “It’s better than I expected,” he said, referring to their first meeting. “It’s perfect.”

“…” Penny blinked, her mind still buffering.

“Stay with me for a while. I’ve been waiting for you,” he requested charmingly. “Will you? Please?”

“Oh, my God…” she blurted out under her breath, only realizing now that since he could see, he would be able to see all her shenanigans as well!

She hadn’t brainwashed him enough for him to want to start her own cult!

’Weren’t you trying to help him regain his vision?’ asked the tiny devil on her shoulder. ’Why are you reacting this way? You should be happy!’

Should she stay and cuddle, forgetting about the scribbles on her face?! Or should she just get rid of them quickly and then jump on him?!

Whatever Zoren wanted to say halted at the sound of something falling. Penny and Zoren intuitively turned their heads to where the sound came from. As soon as they did, their eyes caught a figure standing by the door, and the paper bag he was carrying now lay on the floor.
