Capítulo 1575: Chapter 344: Storming the Broken Soul Gate
“Haozi!” A bad feeling surged in her heart, and An Yiqing was startled. She quickly ran to the bedside and supported Xia Hao.
She extended her finger to check his pulse and breathed a sigh of relief. It turned out that Xia Hao had just fainted from excessive grief.
“Xiao Feng, turn on the light.”
An Yiqing instructed Zhang Yufeng to turn on the hospital room’s lights. She looked at Xia Hao’s complexion, which was pale with an abnormal flush and covered with sweat. An Yiqing knew that Xia Hao had a high fever due to emotional agitation.
With a helpless sigh, An Yiqing took out a small sachet and perford simple treatnt on Xia Hao, then made him drink a glass of warm water. She then quietly sat on the sofa, waiting for Xia Hao to wake up.
“Miss, why not have so breakfast first?” Zhang Yufeng suggested, unwilling to see An Yiqing waiting on an empty stomach for Xia Hao to regain consciousness.
An Yiqing looked at the ti, pondered for a mont, and nodded.
“Buy sothing light and bring it back. When Haozi wakes up, he’ll need to eat as well. By the way, haven’t you eaten either? Buy so more, and let’s eat together.” Even in such chaotic tis, An Yiqing didn’t forget to care for those around her. This ward Zhang Yufeng’s heart.
After Zhang Yufeng bought breakfast and returned, An Yiqing ate a little, and in no ti, Xia Hao’s high fever subsided, and he woke up.
“Water… water…” Xia Hao’s voice was extrely hoarse, as if from another person.
An Yiqing imdiately stood up, picked up the warm water on the bedside table, and handed it over.
Xia Hao drank the water in one gulp and opened his eyes in a daze.
“Haozi, how are you feeling? Have you lost your mind, having such a high fever without knowing it? If Uncle and Aunt knew how you were mistreating your body, wouldn’t they worry themselves sick?” An Yiqing was anxious. Xia Hao looked completely lost and lacking any spirit.
Just as Xia Hao, still dazed, heard Father Xia and Mother Xia ntioned, his eyes reddened, and he started to cry again. He had slept for so long, had so many nightmares, and every ti he awoke from a dream, he was relieved that it was just a dream. But this ti, it wasn’t a dream, it was an inescapable reality.
“Haozi, Uncle and Aunt would feel sad seeing you like this!” An Yiqing sighed helplessly. She didn’t know how to comfort Xia Hao. If this happened to her, her reaction might be even more extre than Xia Hao’s.
Xia Hao didn’t speak, just cried silently.
An Yiqing sat silently, accompanying Xia Hao as he cried for a long ti, until he was exhausted and still, then brought over the white porridge from the table.
“Eat sothing.”
Xia Hao hung his head in silence, not responding.
An Yiqing expected this result. She moved the plate closer to Xia Hao, “Your uncle, Xia Guotian, was behind the car accident, and if you eat, I’ll tell you the details, or you won’t get a single word.”
Xia Hao suddenly raised his head, his eyes red as he looked at An Yiqing. He said nothing for a long ti, just panting heavily, confronting An Yiqing with fierce eyes.
After a long while, he was the first to relent and, without a word, picked up the plate in front of him and began to devour the food ravenously.
“Who wanted them dead?” Xia Hao finished all the food on the plate in three minutes, even drinking all the soup. He didn’t feel hungry nor taste the food; he was solely focused on finding out who had hard his parents and catching them for revenge.
“It was your uncle, Xia Guotian.”
The soup bowl in Xia Hao’s hand clattered onto the table. He looked at An Yiqing in disbelief, as if he hadn’t understood what she had just said.
“Since the last ti your grandma caused a scene in the restaurant, Xia Guotian has been harboring a grudge about your family’s break from the Xia Family. Without your parents’ financial support, he was struggling in the Broken Soul Gate, so he ca up with the idea to kill your uncle and aunt, making it look like an accidental car crash, and then take over your family’s restaurant, killing two birds with one stone.” Though the truth was very harsh, An Yiqing had no choice but to make Xia Hao face it.
Xia Hao seed dumbfounded by this news. Though he and An Yiqing were good friends, his life had always been simple, with no violence, no bloodshed. And An Yiqing had tried to shield Xia Hao from all those dark matters.
This was the first ti Xia Hao realized that sharing blood didn’t an anything. So people could cruelly take their relatives’ lives for material gains!
