Capítulo 1660: Chapter 365: The Excitent Is About to Begin
An Yiqing didn’t want to waste any more words with this idiot doctor and directly issued an eviction order to him.
Peng Ze, who had already started idolizing An Yiqing, naturally followed her words without question. He called in the bodyguards outside, who dragged Doctor Laopo out of the ward. Even as he was being pulled into the elevator, he was still screaming like a pig being slaughtered, completely unaware of the situation he found himself in.
The other doctors in the ward were dumbfounded, watching the towering, black-clad n toss Doctor Laopo out. They shuddered collectively and hurriedly exited the room.
“Sister Xiao Qing, you’ve scared them all away.” Peng Ze blinked and said dazedly.
An Yiqing shrugged innocently and glanced at the burly n outside the door. “It wasn’t who scared them away; it was your grandpa’s fearso subordinates.”
She walked over to the bedside and resud checking Peng Shaohe’s pulse. Peng Ze stood nervously by her side, not daring to breathe heavily.
“Sister Xiao Qing, how is my grandpa?” Peng Ze asked cautiously as he saw An Yiqing retract her hand.
“His body is recovering well; he’ll wake up soon.” An Yiqing nodded. Although Doctor Laopo was arrogant, his dical skills were undeniably exceptional. If his character and worldview were more normal, he could have beco an outstanding physician.
With a sigh of regret, she decided that Doctor Laopo was just a passerby, not worth her ti and energy.
Sure enough, as An Yiqing had diagnosed, half an hour later, Peng Shaohe slowly opened his eyes, which had been tightly shut.
“Water… water…” Peng Shaohe spoke with difficulty, with an oxygen mask covering his mouth. His body was already weak, and every muscle and wound ached unbearably.
Peng Ze quickly poured a cup of warm water, removed Peng Shaohe’s oxygen mask, and used a cotton swab to slowly feed the water into his mouth.
“Grandpa, you just had surgery, so you can’t drink too much water. I’ll moisten your lips with a cotton swab. Please bear with it for now.” Peng Ze said softly while dabbing water onto his lips.
Peng Shaohe nodded with effort, licking his well-moistened lips, as a spark of vitality returned to his eyes.
He took a laborious breath and gazed distractedly at the white ceiling. “What ti is it now?”
“The next evening, you’ve been unconscious for a day and night,” Peng Ze answered truthfully.
Peng Shaohe blinked, his eyes gradually gaining focus. He shifted his gaze from the ceiling to look at Peng Ze, and then froze upon seeing An Yiqing and Duan Jingning.
“Little girl, Old Duan, you’re here too!” Peng Shaohe gave a weak smile, “Girl Qing, were you injured? Last night, it was really lucky to have you.”
“It was nothing, Grandpa Peng, no need to thank .” An Yiqing shook her head and said.
“Old Peng…” Duan Jingning stepped forward, opened his mouth, unsure of what to say. After pondering for a long ti, he finally blurted out a heavy “I’m sorry.”
Peng Shaohe seed puzzled. Having just woken up, he was unaware of what had transpired during his absence.
“What happened? Why are you apologizing?”
“Old Peng, it’s because I didn’t discipline my son well enough. The bomb on your car was placed by Ziqing. He ant no harm but only wanted to give Girl Qing a warning. Who knew it would almost cost you your lives. Old Peng, it’s my fault, it’s my negligence! I failed to teach that brat properly!” Duan Jingning’s old eyes were red with guilt, his face full of remorse, unable to et the gaze of his close friend lying on the hospital bed.
Peng Shaohe paused for a mont, taking a long ti to process the information. He looked at An Yiqing, then at Duan Jingning, gradually piecing together the entire story.
“You’re saying Ziqing planted a makeshift bomb on my car to scare this little girl as revenge on Xiao Qing?”
Duan Jingning nodded apologetically. “That kid always suspected there was so improper relationship between and Xiao Qing. Last night at the banquet, I scolded him, and he bore a grudge. Upon learning that Girl Qing was going with you to pick up the old man, he made a homade bomb and placed it under your car. That bomb wasn’t ant to be lethal, at most just to damage the car. But that kid didn’t expect the sudden attack by the Fei Country Army. Old Peng, although it wasn’t intentional, it was indeed because of him that you almost lost your life. I’ll accept any punishnt you deem fit, without complaint!”
Peng Shaohe felt an odd mix of emotions, realizing that his serious injuries were rely the result of Duan Ziqing’s immature act of revenge?!
