But the battle-hardened Peng Shaohe remained petrified, lost in the thought of An Yiqing having eaten five bowls of rice...

In the afternoon, An Yiqing and Gu Yelin briefly consulted Peng Shaohe about the specifics of the mine, and the three of them unanimously decided to set out tomorrow to avoid any unforeseen developnts.

However, by evening, the situation had taken an unexpected turn. Peng Hua, Peng Shaohe’s nephew, who returned alongside Peng Ze’s parents, adamantly opposed An Yiqing and Gu Yelin tagging along.

Peng Hua, this year twenty-three, was tall and muscular, embodying the spirit of a fierce general from ancient tis. He was the late-born son of Peng Shaohe’s older brother, so his parents were particularly indulgent, leading to Peng Hua developing the fearless, devil-may-care temperant of a devil incarnate.

Nonetheless, despite his reckless nature, Peng Hua was essentially a good person. He always listened to his elders’ advice, clearly aware that he had spent years focusing solely on martial arts, leaving his mind sowhat dimwitted. Thus, he mostly heeded what his elders said.

Yet, for so reason this ti, Peng Hua seed to have so bad chemistry with An Yiqing. Upon hearing about the distribution of the mine’s profits, with such a large portion going to her, he instantly flared up.

Now, having finished dinner, the Peng Family was seated in the living room, trying together to change Peng Hua’s decision. anwhile, An Yiqing and Gu Yelin sat on the small sofa on the other side, seemingly unconcerned, keenly observing the towering Peng Hua.

The genetics of the Peng Family were certainly intriguing. At over ten years old, Peng Ze looked as delicate as a seven or eight-year-old child, whereas the twenty-three-year-old Peng Hua was like a powerful Hercules. When Peng Hua returned earlier and stood next to the petite Peng Ze, the cute contrast nearly made An Yiqing burst into laughter.

As she was thinking happily, Peng Shaohe’s loud voice suddenly broke in.

"You brat, why are you as stubborn as a rock in a latrine—slly and hard? Haven’t I told you, Girl Qing can detect the presence of jade? With her around, we can save a lot of effort and reduce many risks! Why are you being so stubborn?!" If Peng Shaohe had a beard, it would have bristled with anger. He always knew Peng Hua was stubborn, yet attentive to elders. Who knew what had gotten into him today, being so dismissive of An Yiqing!

Peng Hua, large and robust, sat on a single sofa, resembling a giant seated on a small stool. He snorted coldly, turning his head in anger, "You’re too trusting, Uncle. She’s just a little girl suitable for embroidery, but to survey jade? Does she even know what jade is? And to give her so much profit, what are you thinking?! Ultimately, I disagree, absolutely disagree! It’s not about money; I just don’t want soone benefiting from our Peng Family without contributing!" Saying this, Peng Hua turned with a cold glare at An Yiqing, who, attacked by his gaze, grinned widely, causing Peng Hua to feel as if his punch had hit soft cotton, not even raising a splash.

"What nonsense are you spouting?! What’s wrong with Xiao Qing?! You don’t even understand her and are babbling pointlessly!" Peng Shaohe angrily slapped the table, causing the water glasses to jump and spill, "Do you even know who she is? She’s the new Jade King! She pulled that title right off ng Po’s head!"

Peng Ze’s parents were taken aback. They knew An Yiqing had knowledge of jade, but didn’t realize she was formidable enough to seize the title ng Po had held for decades. However, the couple quickly returned to normal, their convictions in Peng Shaohe’s decision strengthened.

For Peng Shaohe’s words, Peng Hua was also montarily stunned, yet the point he seized seed different.

"The new Jade King?... ng Po’s dead?..." he muttered for a while before suddenly asking.

Peng Shaohe was montarily nonplussed by the question, waving impatiently, "That old thing is alive and well, damn it!"

"So he’s blind then?"

Peng Shaohe glared, "He’s alive and kicking, with eyes as sharp as a weasel’s!"

"Then he must have Parkinson’s or sothing; otherwise, how could a young girl grab his title?" Peng Hua rambled on, increasingly convinced by his reasoning. ng Po must have lost his marbles to let a little girl snatch his title.

Peng Shaohe’s eyes bulged, breathing heavily. What circuitous reasoning did Peng Hua use to reach this point? An evidently simple matter had been rendered incomprehensible to him!

The battle-hardened Peng Shaohe, for the first ti, felt a sense of helplessness, wishing he could just shoot Peng Hua right now for the greater good.

Peng Ze’s parents rubbed their temples, knowing hot-tempered Peng Shaohe would indeed get agitated into internal injury by the bullheaded Peng Hua.

Peng Ze, sitting silently beside his parents, stifled a laugh, playfully winking at An Yiqing, filled with teasing. Receiving Peng Ze’s glance, An Yiqing cheekily winked back and then slowly stood up.

Having watched enough of the spectacle, it was her turn to step in.

Though Peng Shaohua had the final say, the Peng Family, known for their mutual respect, naturally hoped to reach a unanimous agreent. For the harmony of the Peng Family, and for her impending windfall, An Yiqing had to "reluctantly" dive into the fray.

"Grandpa Peng, may I say a few words?" She walked over calmly and sat beside Peng Shaohe.

Seeing her action, Peng Hua’s eyes widened. Sitting by the host’s side without permission, how rude!

Peng Hua’s impression of An Yiqing grew even worse.
