"Big brother, I call ho every three days, but it’s you who’s so busy you don’t even have ti to co back, okay?" An Yiqing elegantly rolled her eyes, then looked humorously at An Zhihang and Gu Tingting beside him, "I really thought it was because of work, but it turns out it’s because you’re in love!" As she said the last part, she deliberately dragged out the words "in love" for a long ti, making both An Zhihang and Gu Tingting blush slightly.
The An Family has all returned, except for An Zhiyan who is still in the army, and even his phone can’t be reached.
An Yiqing hung up the phone for the third ti, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"Niuniu, co and eat. Your second brother’s been hard to contact lately, I’ll arrange for soone to check on him after dinner." An Zisheng pushed up his glasses, placing his hand on An Yiqing’s shoulder as they walked to the dining room, "Don’t worry too much, I’ve always got soone looking after things on the military side. If anything happens to your second brother, they’ll notify imdiately."
An Yiqing’s heart eased a bit, knowing her father’s capabilities. Since he said everything was fine, then An Zhiyan truly must be okay.
After leaving Xuandu City for a month, An Yiqing has finally returned. The An Family gathered together for a lively and hearty dinner. The table was full of dishes, all personally cooked by Old Lady An, Kong Shi, and Aunt Li, while the An Family n busily lent a hand nearby. Everyone pitched in, making it even more lively than Chinese New Year.
An Yiqing ate her fill of the dishes on the table. Having not tasted the flavors of ho for a month, this dinner was more delicious to her than any high-society banquet.
This is her favorite flavor!
The next day, when An Yiqing opened her eyes from her slumber, it was already after ten in the morning. She lazily rubbed her eyes, rolled around on the bed, and then gingerly sat up, grimacing.
After eating last night, she and Gu Yelin stayed a while longer at the An Family’s house, then returned to their little villa.
Whether it was being famished during their month in Country Fei, or being stimulated by the talk of aphrodisiacs with Gu Tingting, the usually taciturn and cold Gu Yelin transford into a wolf, devouring An Yiqing, this little rabbit, from the inside out, leaving nothing behind.
Poor An Yiqing, despite her excellent physical condition.
Reaching around to soothe her aching back, An Yiqing struggled to lean against the headboard. On the bedside table, a simple white note was pinned under the lamp, with Gu Yelin’s bold and steel-like handwriting jumping out at An Yiqing’s eyes.
"There’s sothing to handle, I went out. Food is in the kitchen, rember to have so soup first. Call when you’re awake."
A pair of watery eyes imdiately filled with a warm smile. An Yiqing flipped the simple note over and over again, then carefully folded it neatly and placed it in a box on the bedside table.
The peaceful life she shared with Gu Yelin was sparse, with most of their ti spent being busy and on the move. It was either him going on missions, or her having company matters to deal with. The little villa still looked brand new till now.
However, even with so much ti apart, An Yiqing still felt she had more happiness than other won. Every mont they were together, that silent man would express his love for her through his actions. Although his way of expressing was clumsy, An Yiqing was inexplicably happy.
In the box on the bedside table were all the notes Gu Yelin had written since they got together. So were just a word or two, others were long sentences. An Yiqing had long engraved the familiar strokes in her heart and into her bones, yet still found herself unable to get enough. Each ti she looked, her love for Gu Yelin seed to deepen even more.
An Yiqing didn’t know how many twists and turns the future might hold. With so many adversaries both obvious and hidden, and with both the An Family and Gu Family at the whirlwind’s center, each step had to be taken carefully. Perhaps in the future, they would grow old together, or perhaps one day, they might be separated by life and death.
But what does it matter? With a beloved, who cares if it’s fate or disaster.
He loves her, she loves him, and that’s enough.
Putting away all her thoughts, An Yiqing guided her inner breath through her body, and the soreness vanished instantly. She casually picked a dress to put on and walked out of the bedroom as she opened the door.
