An Yiqing nodded with a smile, agreeing to it.
That evening, after having a lavish dinner with her fellow disciples at the dicine Sect, An Yiqing left with Tiezhu and Yin Xilin. She also took Xiao Hong with them.
Starting today, the peculiar duo of Tiezhu and Yin Xilin officially beca An Yiqing’s companions.
By the ti An Yiqing drove back to the An Family Villa, it was already past eight in the evening. Xuandu City was very cold in winter, so everyone was cozily gathered in the living room early and didn’t go out for a walk.
The arrival of Yin Xilin and Tiezhu brought liveliness back to the An Family Villa. Old Master An and Old Lady An were very fond of Yin Xilin, holding onto her tightly after not seeing her for a while. Although Tiezhu was big and burly, his simple and naive appearance endeared him to the An Family. His background story added a layer of sympathy and compassion from Kong Shi and Old Lady An.
However, Xiao Hei and Old Jin, upon sensing Xiao Hong’s presence, swiftly flew down from the second floor.
"Damn! That little snake is back again!" Old Jin, with his chubby body, ran surprisingly fast, his fur standing on end as he glared at Xiao Hong coiling on the coffee table.
Upon hearing the noise, Xiao Hong lazily lifted its head to glance at Old Jin and Xiao Hei, then flopped back down. Completely worn out from the day’s events, it had no energy left to outwit these two fools.
"Huh?" Old Jin, noticing Xiao Hong’s unusual behavior, twitched his ears in puzzlent and swaggered over, with Xiao Hei following closely behind.
"Tsk, arguing with a little red snake, Old Jin, you’re a disgrace to the cat kingdom." Fatty Mao Er, sitting comfortably on An Yiqing’s lap, rubbed its face with little paws, not forgetting to sneer at Old Jin.
Old Jin shot it an annoyed look before continuing his cat-like pace toward Xiao Hong. Xiao Hong lifted its eyes at him briefly, flicked its bright red tongue, and then resud lazing about lifelessly.
"Weird..." Walking up to Xiao Hong, Old Jin suddenly sighed and then sniffed around.
"Lately, Xiao Hong’s been acting strange; don’t bother it." An Yiqing nudged Old Jin’s plump belly with her toe, gently instructed.
Xiao Hei nodded obediently, but Old Jin circled the coffee table where Xiao Hong lay, shaking his head and muttering "weird."
"Old Jin Head, what’s with you now? Speak up or hold your peace, what’s with the riddles?" Fatty Mao Er, dizzy from Old Jin’s motions, leapt off An Yiqing, swatted Old Jin’s head.
Old Jin staggered from the swat but stubbornly kept muttering "weird."
"Old Jin, what’s the matter?" An Yiqing noticed Old Jin’s strange behavior and couldn’t help but feel curious.
Old Jin paced back and forth several tis before finally leaning in to sniff Xiao Hong intently.
"The scent on this little red snake is different from before."
"What’s different?" An Yiqing raised an eyebrow, asking quietly.
"I’m not sure. The scent is familiar, but I can’t rember where I’ve slled it before. Seems like it’s from many years ago..." Old Jin’s cat eyes darted around, finally resignedly shaking his head. Ever since he jumped out of that stone, his past mories were mostly vague shadows, and he couldn’t even recall who he was.
"But I’m certain I’ve encountered this little red snake’s kin! Definitely a big deal, otherwise, I wouldn’t rember the scent so well even now!"
An Yiqing blinked, pondering Xiao Hong with a deep thoughtful look. Old Jin claid he had slumbered for at least a thousand years; hence, eting one before would have been a long ti ago. What species exactly is Xiao Hong? Why is Old Jin so sure it’s a big deal?
When Gu Yelin returned from outside, he saw a scene of a human, two cats, a dog, and a snake all deep in thought together.
He curved his lips slightly, switched shoes, took off his coat, ward his hands with his inner breath, and strode over.
"What’s up?" Gu Yelin sat on the sofa, naturally pulling An Yiqing’s slender waist into his embrace, his dark eyes scanning across the spirit beasts present, lingering montarily as he saw Xiao Hong.
"Oh, you’re back?!" An Yiqing snapped back to reality, planted a kiss on Gu Yelin’s cheek affectionately, then recounted everything that had happened at the dicine Sect today in a soft voice, as if submitting howork, waiting earnestly and expectantly for Teacher Gu Yelin’s summary.
"Its aura is indeed familiar." Gu Yelin raised his head from pondering, catching An Yiqing’s eager eyes, teasingly tapped her nose, and said softly, "Tutu, do you rember the ti when you were blind, and we went to the Situ Family’s ancient tomb of the Dragon Taming Clan together?"
"I rember." An Yiqing nodded. During those days, she was blind and had amnesia; such bewildering mories, how could she not rember?
"Don’t you think Xiao Hong’s aura is quite similar to the aura in the main chamber of Situ Ming’s ancient tomb?" Gu Yelin asked patiently, with a smile in his eyes.
An Yiqing blinked, glanced at Xiao Hong, and thought about the Situ Family’s ancient tomb. Her mories of that ti were more chaotic than Gu Yelin’s and the others’. After all, being blind and amnesiac, recalling everything clearly was already quite an achievent.
Just as An Yiqing was fumbling to rember, Old Jin suddenly shouted.
"Ah! I know! The aura on this little red snake is the Dragon Qi of the Dragon Clan!"
