Long Jing shivered, swallowing her words abruptly. An Zhiyan’s reputation as a ruthless instructor was well-deserved; on the training ground, he truly recognized no kinship! Despite Long Jing being a woman, when she first joined the Special Forces Brigade, she was often physically punished by An Zhiyan. There were even tis when the stubborn and competitive Long Jing was nearly forced to tears, yet An Zhiyan coldly watched her cry as she completed her tasks.
Such a ruthless instructor was entirely different from the gentle man who just used his sleeve to wipe away An Yiqing’s tears.

"Long Jing." An Zhiyan called out calmly, causing Long Jing to shiver suddenly.
"Yes, Instructor!" She reflexively stood straight, her nerves imdiately taut.
"Long Jing, on what grounds are you accusing her of being a spy from another country? Do you have any evidence?" An Zhiyan asked calmly, his tone devoid of any anger, which made Long Jing feel even more frightened.
"No..." Her voice was weak, knowing she lacked justification.
"Haven’t you eaten?" An Zhiyan suddenly shouted, startling Long Jing so much that she reflexively shouted—
"Reporting to the instructor! No evidence! I have no evidence to prove she is a spy from another country!"
"Then why did you handcuff her? Give a reasonable explanation!" An Zhiyan’s voice returned to calm, but his tone was colder than before.
"Reporting to the instructor! No explanation!" Long Jing’s brows furrowed slightly, her gaze fixed straight ahead, standing rigidly. Even though she was in the wrong, An Yiqing did not feel that this woman was evading.
Could such a woman be the one who hard Second Brother?
An Yiqing narrowed her eyes slightly, lost in thought.
"No explanation? So it’s arbitrary arrest?" An Zhiyan stared at Long Jing for a long mont before speaking slowly. His tone’s slight lift at the end made Long Jing’s heart quiver.
"Reporting to the instructor! Yes!" She still answered loudly.
"Very well, very well!" An Zhiyan nodded coldly, his gaze towards Long Jing almost freezing her solid. "I never expected that a soldier I trained personally would arrest soone recklessly out of personal desire. Long Jing, did you ever think about being a mber of the Xuanjin while dealing with her?!"
An Zhiyan’s shout made Long Jing involuntarily take two steps back before she steadied herself. She struggled to support her shaking body, forcing herself to stand straight, while An Zhiyan’s words stirred a mighty wave in her heart.
Did she think of herself as a Xuanjin soldier when she arrested soone?
The answer is, no!
At the ti, she only viewed this woman as a parasite of a wealthy family, the kind she despised the most. So, out of emotion, Long Jing wanted to deal with her. Even if she wouldn’t be seriously hard, Long Jing wanted to discipline this kind of societal rubbish who achieved nothing but was lucky to be born into a good family.
She didn’t think of this young girl as a Xuanjin mber, nor did she rember herself as a Xuanjin soldier.
Long Jing’s face turned pale; she had stood high above for too long and seed to have forgotten her original reason for joining the army, which was to defend the country.
"Comrade Long Jing, I seriously question your initial purpose for joining the Special Forces Brigade." An Zhiyan’s seemingly calm remark completely stirred Long Jing’s heart. She quickly looked at An Zhiyan, finding that besides seriousness, there was no hint of joking in his face.
"Reporting to the instructor, I have sothing to say!" she suddenly shouted loudly.
"Speak."
"Reporting to the instructor, you cannot doubt my initial purpose for joining the Special Forces Brigade just because this woman is your sister! That’s an insult to my character!" Long Jing could tolerate anything but the insult to her dignity and character.
An Zhiyan looked at Long Jing, simply watching. Long Jing felt as if two calm eyes were peering into her soul, leaving no place to hide.
"You feel that I insulted your character?" After a long ti, An Zhiyan asked slowly.
Long Jing didn’t speak, but her tightly pursed red lips betrayed her thoughts due to stubbornness.
"You think I doubt you out of ulterior motives because she’s my sister?" An Zhiyan asked again.
Long Jing remained silent, looking at him stubbornly and persistently.
An Yiqing suddenly admired this stubborn girl. Whether or not she was behind harming An Zhiyan, just the fact that she could look An Zhiyan in the eye for so long made her a respectable opponent.
Thinking this, she suddenly chuckled softly and asked, "Miss Long Jing, may I ask you a question?"
Long Jing’s cold and severe gaze fell on An Yiqing, deeply embedded with thick aversion and a hint of surprise. In her heart, this wealthy young lady should be flaunting her success over her, not asking her in such a peaceful manner.
"Speak."
"Miss Long Jing, if I wasn’t An Zhiyan’s sister today, what outco would I have faced?" An Yiqing asked.
Long Jing was instantly speechless, not knowing what to say. If An Yiqing wasn’t An Zhiyan’s sister today, if she were an ordinary person’s child, what she would face would be the harshest interrogation and both ntal and physical torture.
"It seems Miss Long Jing already has her answer. As I wish to ask, as a mber of the Xuanjin, is it befitting for a leader of an investigative team to bring her personal emotions into event judgnts lightly? Is there wrongdoing in Instructor An questioning your initial motivation for joining the Special Forces Brigade?"
Long Jing’s face alternated red and white; An Yiqing’s voice was not loud, but each word pierced her heart like a tiny knife. Each sentence was more cutting, each one leaving her unable to refute.
She had even lost the ability to think, completely forgetting why An Yiqing knew she was the head of an investigative team.
"So Miss Long Jing, please understand, what your eyes see and ears hear in this world may not always be true. As a soldier of the Xuanjin Special Forces Brigade, the first thing you need to do is to eliminate your emotions and maintain true justice and fairness! If you can’t achieve this, you’d better retreat from the Special Forces Brigade and vacate for soone more deserving!"
An Yiqing’s final words struck the most sensitive part of Long Jing’s heart. The thing she couldn’t bear to hear the most in her life was being inferior to others!
Long Jing looked sharply at An Yiqing, suddenly realizing that this wealthy young lady was perhaps not as useless as she appeared. At least, with just a few sentences, she rendered Long Jing speechless, sothing not everyone could accomplish.
"I won’t step down; I will prove to everyone that I, Long Jing, am absolutely qualified and completely possess the qualities a Xuanjin soldier should have!" Long Jing took a big step forward, walked up to An Yiqing, and pulled out a key from her pants pocket. "Put out your hand; I’ll unlock your handcuffs."
An Yiqing deftly took Long Jing’s extended hand, shrugging her shoulders at her puzzled gaze.
"No need; for , this thing is just for show."
With that, in Long Jing’s horrified gaze, An Yiqing casually broke open the handcuffs, pulled her hands out, and then thoughtfully bent the handcuffs back to shape, handing them back to Long Jing.
