From the back seat of the Audi, An Yiqing carried the weakly breathing Zhou Xiaoyu out of the car, carefully placing her on the hospital bed.
"My mom has already prepared the operating room, Third Brother, Xiao Qing, hurry up!" The weakened Gu Tingting and Ruan Xue supported each other as they got out of the car, Gu Tingting holding a phone. She had just called her mother, also Gu Yelin’s second aunt, Chen Fang, the director of the military hospital.
An Yiqing nodded and, after instructing the two of them briefly with concern, quickly pushed the hospital bed toward the operating room with Gu Yelin.
Gu Tingting and Ruan Xue watched the hurried departing backs of An Yiqing and Gu Yelin, their eyes filled with worry. Like An Yiqing, they both had complicated feelings about Zhou Xiaoyu. Living together in a dormitory for several months, eating, attending classes, shopping together, it would be a lie to say there’s no emotion. However, this emotion was different from the sincere friendship between them and An Yiqing; what existed with Zhou Xiaoyu was rely a roommate’s bond.
If there was any hatred, Gu Tingting and Ruan Xue couldn’t bring themselves to hate Zhou Xiaoyu. The girl’s life was too tragic, too stubborn; her twisted obsession with An Yiqing made people resent but also pity her.
