The atmosphere suddenly beca harmonious as Butler Uncle Wang, walking with the Li Family’s Main Wife and their family of three, paused at the scene, slightly stunned.
Since when did Miss An and Fourth Miss beco so close?
"Young Master Sun, Fourth Miss, Miss Sun, the First Young Master and others have arrived."
The harmonious atmosphere quickly turned sowhat stifled. An Yiqing followed the gaze of Li Yuphei and his companions, looking past Uncle Wang, where two n and a woman were following.
Among them, the older man was Li Yuhang’s eldest son, Li Xianshan. He appeared rather handso, but the timid look in his eyes exposed his character. Beside him stood a woman in a dark red professional outfit. Her face was sharp; the cheekbones on both sides slightly high, yet her forehead was square, lending her sharp appearance a touch of grace and composure.
Upon seeing this woman, An Yiqing first thought of the female dean at school — high and mighty, strict and harsh, ticulous, and even nitpicky.
Most importantly, a woman like this loves to reprimand others.
An Yiqing finally understood why the round-faced little girl, who took care of her daily needs, seed so frightened when ntioning The Main Wife Madam Wang.
Her gaze shifted slightly, and An Yiqing looked at the young man standing behind Madam Wang. Actually, compared to Li Yuphei, this man wasn’t that young either. He was the sole heir of the Li Family’s Main Wife, nad Li Jiahao, ten years older than Li Yuphei. This man was a true Flower Island bully, causing trouble wherever he went and always fighting with others. His father, Li Xianshan, used to spend a lot of money to clean up his sses. Madam Wang was devoted to grooming this son to beco Li’s heir, but no matter how many canes were broken, Li Jiahao’s temper got worse and worse. When he was younger, there was still so restraint. But since becoming an adult, Madam Wang couldn’t control him anymore.
However, luckily, although Li Jiahao was the Flower Island bully, at most he just fought and brawled; he’d never done anything lacking moral boundaries.
"Uncle, Aunt." Li Yuphei stood up, greeting the Li Family’s Main Wife distantly. It seed he wasn’t very close to this uncle.
Li Xianshan nodded and smiled honestly, while Madam Wang snorted coldly from her nose.
This Li Yuphei was her son’s greatest rival for inheriting Li’s, so of course, she didn’t look kindly on him.
Li Yuphei didn’t mind, his gaze fell on Li Jiahao, his expression sowhat complicated.
How to say it, Li Jiahao was like an older brother to whom Li Yuphei felt sowhat resigned. Calling him a good person wasn’t quite right since he was involved in fights and mischief, and would often trip him up for no reason, coldly teasing him when they t. But to say he’d hurt him — well, he hadn’t.
Li Yuphei felt that Li Jiahao was just like a child in rebellion — everything he said and did was sowhat unconventional.
"Hey, who’s this chica? Quite a looker!" Sure enough, Li Jiahao’s rowdiness ca to the fore again. He wore a black casual suit, his shirt wide open, revealing solid muscles, exuding a rough aura.
He strode over to An Yiqing’s side, looking at her carelessly, then turned to ask, "Li Yuphei, is she your new girl?"
Li Yuphei’s eyelid twitched, his face darkened.
"Brother, this is An the God Doctor, whom I invited to treat Grandpa, mind your words."
"God Doctor? Her?!" Li Jiahao’s eyes widened, he looked at An Yiqing as if he’d heard a joke, then burst into wild laughter, "This girl doesn’t even look mature! God Doctor? Li Yuphei, have you turned stupid from reading too much?"
At this point, Madam Wang also stepped over.
"Yuphei, we all understand your wish to treat the Old Master. But if you’re looking for soone, at least find soone reliable, don’t get fooled by so con artists." She approached An Yiqing, scrutinizing her with sharp eyes, "This young lady, may I ask which prestigious school you graduated from? Which expert or professor guided you? Do you have a practicing license? How many years have you been in dicine?"
"Aunt!" Li Yuphei sharply retorted, his face turning sowhat unsightly.
"Miss An is a distinguished guest whom I invited from far away. If not for Old Master Nan’s recomndation, she might not have accepted my request. Aunt, you’ve been quite rude!"
Madam Wang paused, then looked An Yiqing over again, "Her? Recomnded by Old Master Nan? From the Mainland?"
An Yiqing furrowed her brows, every word Madam Wang said about "the Mainland" sounded offensive, full of ridicule and contempt.
"And what good doctors could the Mainland have? Has Old Master Nan been deceived?" Madam Wang added, her gaze at An Yiqing filled with disdain, completely seeing her as a fraud.
Before Li Yuphei said anything, An Yiqing responded.
"Madam, you seem to have so opinions about the Mainland. You seem to forget, Flower Island belongs to Xuanjin. One can be snobby, but don’t forget one’s roots." Her tone was calm, yet each word landed firmly, and her clear voice struck the heart. Those eyes, clear and unwavering, allowed no place for desire and darkness to hide.
Li Yuphei’s gold-rimd glasses reflected a gleam, his lips subtly curling in a slight smile. While Li Jiahao curiously sized up An Yiqing, it seed like he found sothing entertaining.
As for Xu Qingtian, he already gazed at An Yiqing with admiration, eyes full of stars.
Being lectured by a little girl in front of so many people left Madam Wang’s face sowhat embarrassed. Her brows raised high, her eyes widened, ready to retort, but Butler Uncle Wang interrupted her.
"Young Master Sun, Second Young Master and Family, and Third Young Master and Third Wife have arrived."
An Yiqing’s eyes narrowed slightly, finally, everyone was here.
Five people entered through the large door. Among them, three walked in front, and two were at the back. An Yiqing glanced over, the three upfront should be the Second Wife’s family. The couple at the back should be the Third Wife and husband, Li Yuphei’s parents.
Everyone from the Third Wife was present, and so began Li Family’s weekly dinner gathering.
Everyone moved to the maroon long dining table to take their seats. The main position was naturally reserved for Old Master Li, Li Yuhang. To his right was the Li Family’s Main Wife Li Xianshan, followed by Madam Wang and Li Jiahao. Then was the Li Family’s Third Wife, Li Yuphei’s parents.
