"Cheryl, what’s wrong?"
"Godmother... Brother Shannon is not here, I’m so lonely, I want to go back."
Cheryl Chew lifted her head, looking at the moon gradually being covered by clouds in the sky.

Mrs. Shannon held the phone and sighed, then called Thomas Shannon.

Thomas Shannon was taking a bath when the mobile phone on the tea table started ringing.
Sophie Sullivan hesitated for two seconds, then imdiately leaned over to pick up the phone.

Other than Thomas Shannon, she couldn’t contact anyone, let alone a phone to reach the outside world.
His phone had a fingerprint lock, which she couldn’t open at all.
When Mrs. Shannon’s call ca in, she seed to see hope.
If she rembered correctly, Mrs. Shannon seed to have adopted a girl nad Moony. According to her understanding of lodrama, it was highly likely that Mrs. Shannon hoped for that girl to beco her daughter-in-law.
So, she bore hostility towards her, secretly wishing for her to leave Thomas Shannon.
Thinking so, she decided to gamble.
If she won, she would be free; if she lost... it would just be another punishnt by Thomas Shannon.
No matter the outco, she wouldn’t lose much.
Mrs. Shannon listened to her words, pondered for a mont, and agreed, "Okay, Miss Sullivan, please go ahead."
Sophie Sullivan’s face lit up with joy; it seed Mrs. Shannon indeed knew of her existence.
