Sophie lay down on the examination table, opened her mouth, and the doctor examined her carefully for a while.
He asked her if she had felt particularly uncomfortable when speaking recently.
She had already finished the dication prescribed by the doctor, but evidently, the effect was not very desirable.
The doctor returned to his office desk and continued to write her a prescription, "Take these dicines and continue to take them for a week. Co for a checkup then."
"Oh."
With the dicine, Sophie left the dical office.
It was already noon, and she was starving, not knowing where to find food.
Finally, she returned to the castle with a dicine bottle in her hand.
Just as she stepped into the kitchen, she ran into Alia Shaw coming out with a bowl of soup.
"Ah..."
Alia exclaid in surprise, nearly spilling the hot soup from her hand.
Hearing the noise, the man seated in the Restaurant walked over.
"What’s going on?"
His deep voice carried an imposing air even without showing anger.
Sophie remained expressionless, not wanting to give him any attention. Alia smiled, her eyebrows curving, "It’s nothing, nothing. The maniac suddenly ca in and startled ."
"Are you hurt?"
Thomas Shannon looked her over, and Alia blushed, shaking her head, "I’m really fine."
Sophie tried to pass Alia to enter the kitchen for food. But as soon as she took a step, she was stopped by a cold, rebuking voice—
"Stop!"
Sophie took a deep breath, "What’s wrong?"
"Who allowed you into the kitchen?"
"Nobody said I wasn’t allowed in before."
Thomas Shannon’s eyes darkened, "Starting today, you are not allowed to set foot in the kitchen without permission. Do you understand?"
Sophie turned around to leave, almost throwing the dicine bottle at his head, but luckily restrained herself.
Otherwise, there might have been a real confrontation.
Alia was visibly nervous, and she called out to Sophie in a low voice, "Maniac, where are you going? Thomas didn’t say you could leave, hurry back."
It seed like a friendly reminder, but it was not...
Sophie completely ignored it and quickened her pace.
Thomas Shannon returned to the Restaurant, and Alia, having no choice, withdrew her gaze and followed him into the Restaurant.
In the spacious Restaurant, Thomas Shannon sat in the first position, silently lighting a cigarette.
Surrounded by smoke, he remained silent throughout.
Alia scooped him a bowl of soup and placed it in front of him, "Thomas, have so soup first."
"Hmm." The man lazily responded without taking any action.
Alia’s brow furrowed slightly, her eyes showing evident concern, "Smoke less, it’s bad for your health."
Her hand was about to touch his fingers that held the cigarette, but he avoided her.
Alia drew back her hand, disheartened, and looked down.
Thomas Shannon exhaled a smoke ring, seemingly noticing her unusual behavior only then, "Don’t like smoking?"
Alia nodded cautiously.
"Really?" Thomas Shannon’s tone carried a hint of ridicule, "That’s not how you used to be."
"I..." Alia tried to defend herself, but swallowed her words before they left her mouth.
Before... the person she liked wasn’t him either.
Now she regretted it and would focus all her attention on him in the future.
What happened two years ago would not happen again.
"Let’s eat." Thomas Shannon found it boring, then put out his cigarette butt.
Alia smiled at the corners of her lips, "Okay."
Sophie returned to the courtyard, her legs weak with hunger, and her body listless...
