As she walked, Sophie Sullivan’s heart began to feel uneasy.
The deeper she walked into the adow, the more pervasive the chill in her heart beca.
She turned her head, thinking Thomas Shannon would co after her, but he didn’t.
In the direction she had co from, it was pitch black and empty.
"Thomas Shannon..." Sophie uttered softly.
In the empty adow, only the incessant chirping of crickets from the grass broke the silence.
She turned to go back the way she ca when, suddenly, a pair of green-glowing eyes appeared in her line of sight.
For a mont, Sophie didn’t understand what she was seeing, until a second, then a third pair of green-glowing eyes appeared...
Only then did Sophie realize sothing was wrong!
There are wolves on the adow!
She retreated step by step, but the number of wolves increased, forming a circle and trapping her in the center.
Sophie’s heart trembled, her fists clenched tightly. "Thomas Shannon... Thomas Shannon, where are you?"
At this critical mont, she still called out Thomas Shannon’s na.
Apart from Thomas Shannon, she didn’t know who else could save her.
She knew that Charlie River and the n in black protecting Thomas Shannon all carried guns.
"Thomas Shannon, help !"
A beam of strong light suddenly shone on her.
Sophie was enveloped in the blinding light, instinctively raising her hand to shield her eyes.
Not far away, Thomas Shannon stood watching coldly. "Are you calling ?" he asked.
As if he didn’t already know!
Sophie was both furious and desperate. "Yes, it’s calling you!"
The pack of wolves began to stir restlessly, but Thomas Shannon’s voice remained unhurried. "Do you need for sothing?"
Sophie, surrounded by wolves, felt the stark opposite of his calm.
He was unhurried, while she was frantic with worry.
"Thomas Shannon, now is not the ti for jokes! Hurry up and chase these wolves away!"
"Why should I listen to you?"
A pistol shot rang out, fired into the sky.
The enraged pack of wolves grew agitated. The beam of light could no longer protect Sophie, and the furious wolves began to attack her.
"Ah... Thomas Shannon, save !"
A burning fireball flew through the air and landed near her feet.
The wolves retreated instinctively, clearly wary of the burning fireball.
Terrified, Sophie covered her ears and scread, "Thomas Shannon, stop fooling around! Save !"
"Fooling around?" Thomas Shannon retorted. "If you think I’m fooling around, then I’ll just leave."
What? Leave? He actually dared to say he would leave? Did he really plan to abandon here to be devoured by wolves? If he hadn’t suddenly burst into my Mongolian Yurt, I wouldn’t have been forced to walk out alone. And because of that, I was attacked by a pack of wolves. This is all his fault. And now, he dares to just walk away and leave ? Not a chance!
"Thomas Shannon, you dare take one step and see what happens!" Sophie yelled, her voice laced with anger and desperation. "If you dare to go, you’ll regret it until you die of frustration!"
"You still have the energy to curse," Thomas Shannon observed. "It seems you don’t need my help; you’re quite capable of saving yourself."
"Who said that? I need you to save !"
Thomas Shannon chuckled. "What did you say?"
Sophie stamped her foot in frustration. The fireball was shrinking, its fla threatening to die out at any mont.
She had no choice but to relent. "I said, I need you to save ! Thomas Shannon, don’t go! Help !"
"Louder. I can’t hear you."
Charlie River looked on, a nervous sweat breaking out. Young Master, do you really want to save her or not? The little maniac is about to beco wolf food, and you’re still in the mood to tease her?
