Sophie sneered. It seed Alia Shaw had really done sothing to feel guilty about.
But this was good too. Sophie now had leverage over her. For a short while, at least, Alia Shaw wouldn’t be able to show her face around her, wouldn’t co to annoy her.
Alia Shaw hurriedly ran to the flower garden. She looked around for a mont, then took out her mobile phone and helplessly called Frank Mitchell.
"Samuel, what made you think to call ?" Frank Mitchell’s very low laugh ca from the other end.
Hadn’t she always resisted him? Didn’t she say it herself that they shouldn’t contact each other anymore? This phone call now must be because she had sothing to ask for.
As expected, Frank Mitchell hadn’t guessed wrong. Alia Shaw’s voice was very low, "Frank, I’m in trouble..."
The maniac’s words still echoed in her ears.
Alia Shaw’s heart trembled violently, and her voice shook uncontrollably. Her heart felt as if it were being roasted over an open fla.
The maniac had her by the throat. If she told Thomas Shannon, Alia would be finished. She wouldn’t even dare to dream of returning to Thomas Shannon’s side; even just staying in the manor would beco an extravagant hope. Thomas Shannon was a man who tolerated no deceit. Once he found out, her fate was all too easy to imagine...
Alia Shaw had truly been backed into a corner. With no other recourse, she could only turn to Frank Mitchell for help.
"Don’t worry. Tell slowly, what trouble have you encountered?"
Frank Mitchell’s warm, deep voice carried a strange, soothing power, and Alia Shaw’s agitation cald sowhat. "That call I made to you last ti—the maniac overheard what we said. The maniac’s voice has recovered recently, and Thomas dotes on her... I’m worried she’ll tell Thomas everything. My end will be miserable."
"Is the maniac the woman you ntioned to last ti?"
Alia Shaw nodded. "Yes."
"A disfigured woman?"
"That’s right."
Frank Mitchell scoffed. "Was Thomas Shannon hit so hard by you back then that his tastes have beco this extre now? Even a disfigured woman can win his favor."
"Frank!" Alia Shaw warned in a low voice. Now was not the ti for such talk.
Although, she strongly agreed with him. Thomas Shannon falling for that maniac was undoubtedly lowering his own class. He could have liked anyone, yet he had to develop a special fondness for a disfigured woman. It was like a fine piece of porcelain, now flawed and completely off-putting.
"This isn’t the ti to talk about that! What on earth am I supposed to do? If the maniac tells Thomas what I said, what then?" she babbled, panicked and helpless, growing more terrified the more she thought about it.
If that day truly ca, the maniac would be insufferably smug! No, she absolutely could not just sit back and await her doom.
Frank Mitchell pondered for a mont, his voice turning slightly cool. "What do you want to do?"
Alia Shaw lifted her head, a vicious, cold light glinting in the depths of her eyes. "Eliminate her."
Only the dead can keep secrets. And only if the maniac died would there be no one to be her stumbling block. She knew that, to a certain extent, Thomas Shannon was using the maniac to provoke her. To spite her for rejecting him back then and choosing Frank Mitchell. So now, he wanted to make her taste the bitterness he had felt back then. His feelings for the maniac were rely a passing fancy, not love. Only if the maniac died could she be with Thomas Shannon without any obstacles.
This idea grew wildly in her mind, swelling and expanding. The more Alia Shaw thought about it, the more she beca convinced that this decision was not only correct but absolutely necessary to carry out.
