Sophie Sullivan turned her head, casting a disgusted glance at William Guillen. "Enough!"
What did he an, she’d seized the opportunity to play dirty tricks? Was she that kind of person? Even if she were to resort to such tactics, she wouldn’t do it when Thomas Shannon was injured.
Edward Benson, however, was much calr. He earnestly advised, "Maniac, Thomas injured his right hand. Please take good care of him."
"I will."
Edward Benson lightly patted William Guillen’s shoulder. "Let’s go."
The room fell silent. In the stillness, the dripping of the IV was exceptionally clear.
Thomas Shannon’s face was pale. His right shoulder was swathed in layers of gauze, a large section already stained crimson with blood.
"How did Thomas Shannon get hurt?" Sophie asked Charlie River.
Charlie River was reluctant to elaborate, saying only, "He was ambushed."
Charlie River seed to have other matters to attend to. Thomas Shannon himself was injured, to say nothing of the n in black responsible for his protection. Sophie noticed that Charlie River’s clothes also bore nurous bloodstains; she couldn’t tell if it was his own blood or soone else’s.
"The Young Master is in your hands now. Take good care of him, understand?"
Sophie nodded.
Charlie River then left the room.
Sophie sighed helplessly. Today was supposed to be the day of her surgery. Unexpectedly, Thomas Shannon had disrupted it, and the reason was simply so she could take better care of him.
「It wasn’t until evening.」
Thomas Shannon finally woke up.
When he opened his eyes, the first person he saw was the maniac who had fallen asleep at his bedside.
The nurse nearby imdiately stepped forward. "Young Master, are you awake?"
Thomas Shannon tried to sit up, but the movent tugged at his right shoulder wound. His brow furrowed instantly, and a thin sheen of sweat broke out on his forehead.
"Young Master, let help you."
With the nurse’s help, Thomas Shannon managed to sit up. It was this commotion that woke Sophie.
She lifted her eyelids. Her gaze shifted, and she saw Thomas Shannon sitting up. She imdiately sat upright. "Are you awake?"
Thomas Shannon gave a slight nod.
"Where are you going?"
"Restroom."
Rembering Edward Benson’s words, Sophie resignedly stepped forward to support his arm. "I’ll help you."
Thomas Shannon glanced down dubiously at the maniac supporting his arm. Such a docile deanor was rare.
"Can you actually take care of soone?"
Feeling her abilities questioned, Sophie jutted out her chin and retorted, "I may not have eaten pork, but I’ve certainly seen a pig run! It’s just taking care of soone. What’s so hard about that?"
"Sharp-tongued."
Thomas Shannon gestured for the nurse to let go. The nurse stepped back and stood to the side.
The room had an en-suite bath chamber. Sophie helped Thomas Shannon inside, lifted the toilet lid, and then turned to leave.
Suddenly, her wrist was seized.
The man’s grip tightened, and he yanked her back.
Sophie looked bewildered. "Is there sothing else?"
"Weren’t you going to take care of ?"
Sophie nodded. "Aren’t I doing that already?"
"Help ," Thomas Shannon uttered, his thin lips barely moving.
"Help with what?"
A hint of a mischievous smile played on Thomas Shannon’s lips as his gaze drifted to his own lower body. "What do you think?"
"Ugh! You rascal!"
Sophie stomped her foot furiously and spun around to flee.
BANG!
The bath chamber door slamd shut with a deafening crash.
Thomas Shannon chuckled. This was more like her usual self; he wasn’t used to the sudden attentiveness.
Coming out of the bath chamber, Thomas Shannon lay back down on the bed. He didn’t follow the doctor’s advice to rest more. Instead, he had soone call Charlie River.
